January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part IV !!!

Last night, I made supper for my DH and DD's...steak, crab legs, shrimp and cheese potatoes...very yummy. We then sat down and watched a movie, Hancock...pretty good. Then my DH fell asleep by 9:00pm. Today, my family went sledding on a local ski hill; so much fun! Great family time to ring in the New Year.

As our trip gets closer, my DD's are getting more excited and constantly talk about Disney. My DH is still NOT excited about this trip and I'm worried he's just going to bring us down when we are there.

With the wind howling outside, I'm so ready for the warm weather. Does anyone go tanning before their trip to eliminate the pasty white Snowbird look? I'm thinking about it, but I don't know if I will have the time.

I think I'm going to start taking the tree down today. It's so beautiful...

Happy New Year to everyone. I was asleep by 11...pathetic I know but we're no longer the party animals we used to be. Two kids and hitting your 30's will do that to you I guess .

We love Prime Time but during our May trip this past year we tried Sci Fi, and my kids loved it, and so did my DH and I. I think it gets a bad rap. The food was good, service was great and the atmosphere was fun!!!

About the tanning bed - I've wondered the same thing, only I thought about using that fake tanning lotion - only problem is that I would look more orange than tan...I think I might just end up looking pasty...

I have tried and tried Wendy, but no one seems to have any spare time! We'll be at the resort quite a bit, so there are several opportunities for a quick meet up for me if you want!

Let's see. . . I will have free time that Wednesday evening, Friday evening, Saturday morning, and Sunday. . . .

Shelly... here are our plans....

We arrive Saturday night... probably at the resort around 8:30 pm (flight lands at 7:07)

Sunday we will be going to the Magic Kingdom... we plan on having a full day there... possibly coming back for an afternoon swim depending on the weather... dinner at Boma and then back to the hotel after WISHES at 8pm... so should be back around 9:15pm

Monday... my men are all golfing so I plan on relaxing at the resort in the morning... reading a book on the beach or something... then going over to MGM in the afternoon and having the boys meet me there for our 5pm dinner reservations at Mama Melrose

Tuesday.... we will be going to Animal Kingdom for the day... pretty mcuh all day then to Boma for dinner and then mini golf....

I think you will be leaving that day...

so possibly we could meet up Saturday night, Sunday night or Monday morning.... I will PM you my cell phone number....

We usually go in May and I always tan for that. I guess I'm still in my "it's January and cold there's no way I'll get burned" mentality! Maybe I should go buy me a month of tanning.

I'm in! We're changing around our days so I'm probably free on arrival day (24th-although I may look like death warmed over after driving 20 hrs), 25th (AK day) and 26th (DS then WCC dinner) later in the evening. I think after that Mama Bird's on her way home??

Yeah... so the rest of my week looks like

Wed (Jan 28) we will be going to Epcot for the day.... might try the pool again if it is nice enough and then dinner at LeCellier and Illuminations then back..

Thursday.... Birthday for DS.... the boys will be golfing this morning... so I will either hang around of head over to DD to do a little shopping... boys meeting me at Magic Kingdom then dinner at California grill at 5:55 then probably back to hotel... or whatever the birthday boy wants...

Friday Jan 30... boys are golfing again so I plan to go to Epcot and take my time walking thru all the countries.. watching the movies and the performers... all those things the kids don't ever want to do... then the boys will meet me there later for dinner at San Angel Inn... back to hotel and pack up for Saturday departure

Saturday.... might run over to MGM for the morning as we don't leave until noon time....

Andrea~ I feel your panic!!! I am so glad you are getting to go back and take your kids. You are gonna have a fantastic time!!!!

Computer help needed. My comp. is making me want to kill it. It keeps doing these pop-ups about security issues. It even turns off my computer!!!! what should I do? I hate this!!! yesterday I kept trying to get on with ya'll, and everytime I would try to post, it turned the whole thing off!!! I am about to scream!!!

The nice thing is all the parks close early.... we have been there when they are open until 3 am..... we have let the kids stay at the park by themselves and come back later and us old folks went back to get some sleep.... my kids know the parks (over 25 trips) and are older so its great....

I am not sure where we will be... I did pay for the preferred.... I want the boys to be close to the arcade, pool and food.... works great for teenagers...

That would work for me as long as we can get on Magical express quick.... and get checked in...... I might be closer to 9pm.... not sure if that is to late for those of you with little ones....

You will be in Martinique or Trinidad North (I would ask for Martinique - it has been rehabbed, TN hasn't yet) if you paid for perferred. We are hoping for Jamaica or Aruba, just right across the bridge from OPR. Although I am going to ask about the pirate rooms when we check it! They are set to open 3 days after we check in, so we couldn't book one. They are in TS - which is the furthest out.
