Good morning Birdies! Had an early night last night (yes, we are the ULTIMATE party animals)! Went to SIL's for munchies, buy hubby has sinus gunk, I got a migraine, so we were home by 9. I'm almost embarassed to say that. I think I was asleep by 10 or so. I did wake up right at midnight and hear the neighbors shooting off fireworks. I watched for a few minutes then the baby woke up crying for "chocit miwk" so I made him a cup and he snuggled in bed with me...nighty night! So I'm up enjoying the peaceful house, had some coffee, biscotti and Dis, I am a happy girl!

I'm happy to see 2008 go, too. This has been the most trying year in our family-just personal issues that have been worked out. Nothing major, but still stressful. My NY Resolution is to finally get the courage and self-esteem to get a new career, even if it means going back to school or taking a pay cut. I've been in the same state job since I graduated from college (OMG 11 years ago) and I hate it but make enough that if I started over somewhere I'd start at the bottom, plus working for a govt facility, we get tons of vacation, sick, holidays, etc. And the job isn't HARD, it's just mindless which is very stressful for me. Second NR Res is to work on paying off debt instead of accumulating more! Anyone else have one??

The weather report is getting better as the time gets closer! I'm going to have to figure out what to pack soon. 70's sounds wonderful, as it was 12 here this morning. And a low of 50 also sounds great.

The tree is coming down today or tomorrow, I need to do a few last errands, stop the mail, etc. We leave BRIGHT and EARLY on Tuesday! We have a 6:45 am flight, which means we leave our house by 4 am! I know we will be tired by Tuesday evening, and didn't do any strenuous planning for that day.

I'm on hold right now so we'll see. Thanks to all of you who told me to call today! We have a party of 5 and that's probably part of my problem. Wish me luck...
Update...no luck says there are no openings at all for the entire day no matter what party size :(

Also I see some of you talking about 50s prime time and sci fi...anyone have a preference? We are scheduled for 50s but I've been thinking of trying to get sci fi instead :confused3

We love Prime Time but during our May trip this past year we tried Sci Fi, and my kids loved it, and so did my DH and I. I think it gets a bad rap. The food was good, service was great and the atmosphere was fun!!!

Ok, I am there the 11-14, and the 60's sound better then the -1 wind chill that is going on, but 39 and the low? I guess I better pack some gloves and my tinkerbell jacket. I hope as we get closer the temps will go up a bit.

LEAVING TOMORROW I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Sorry for the caps lock, lol).

Good morning everyone. I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves last night. We had fun with my sis and BIL. We made homemade pizza on my sister's new pizza stone. Very yummy! Then, we just hung out and played some games. I got a bit of a tummy ache. I haven't been eating real foods the past few days and then once I did, my body couldn't handle it. I'm feeling a little better now, but I didn't sleep well at ALL last night. We're planning on taking the Christmas decorations down today which always stinks. It means it's time to get back to normal. Happy 2009!

HAPPY NEW YEAR SNOWBIRDS!!!!!! I wish you all the best in 2009!!!!

Look at me ticker...only TWO weeks until I'm in Disney...at this time in two weeks I'll be riding the rides at Magic Kingdom and partying like there is no tomorrow!!!

To all of you leaving before...Have the best time ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year to everyone. I was asleep by 11...pathetic I know but we're no longer the party animals we used to be. Two kids and hitting your 30's will do that to you I guess:lmao: .

I will make sure to post pictures! Mom's doing great. She went in this morning and the doctor was actually able to pull the stone out completely. She still has the stint in, but now it's just in to make sure she drains out as much fluid from her organs as possible. She can take the stint out Sunday. So, we should be good for Disney!!:thumbsup2

I like that I'm doing nothing tonight. My sister and I just finished our Garden Grocer order.

Everyone, have a great and safe night! We can say that we are going to Disney....THIS MONTH!!!! and Year...!
So glad she's going to be fully recovered in time for Disney b/c we all know that's what's most important right now!:rotfl:

Your about half way to my dates! Looks good so far! Thanks for keeping us posted! :sunny:

Hello Snowbirds!

Happy 2009!!! We are finally in January 2009!!! Yipee!!!!:yay:

DH had to work last night, he'll be home soon. DD and I watched a few movies and fell asleep on the couch, so off to bed we went!
This morning she had me up at 6:30. My one day to sleep in!

So today is our packing and sorting day. We go through our Disney tote- which has grown into 2 totes. DD and I so far have done the toiletries and travel size items of shampoo etc. I have also made a list which I will match up and see what we need to buy. DD also tried on her new Ariel Bathing Suit. She says it doesn't fit. To me it does, I think it just feels weird to have bathing suit on when it is so cold and snowy out...:confused3
She also got so Disney store clothes which she tried on... she says their too big.. To me everything looks fine??? It has me stressed.... :upsidedow

Last night we also worked on my binder. I have made some pretty cool planning journal days for us.
Iam concerned about pants and sweaters. Our Jan 2007 trip I did not wear shorts, I did wear capris, but I had to buy a sweater while there. I wished I had longer pants most evening. Tonight I plan on digging out our capris and trying them on- make sure they fit.

Anyhow- the real planning has started. My binder is getting so thick - I am trying to comp0act as much as possible...:rotfl:

And I spend alot of time on the computer creating lots of lists and plans ! Maybe one day I'll have to publish them :surfweb:

have a great day all !!!

My 6 yr old has finally developed an opinion on clothes!! UGH! He likes things that are too short, doesn't like anything that has a button, only wants to wear specific socks. I'm not ready for this! I liked when he wore anything I laid out for him. Darn kids and their own personalities! :rotfl2:

My mom just picked up our DD to take her to the movies. They're going to see The Tale of Despereaux. So, my DH and I are off to use our gift card at The Cheesecake Factory. Neither one of us have eaten there before. I've had their cheesecake before and it's so yummy! It's so nice just spending some time together. We all just took down all the Christmas decorations. My house looks so sad and empty now. :sad1: At least they're down and I can just concentrate on WDW!

23 days!

Happy New Year, Snowbirds!! I think I have most everyone beat on the I'm-So-Pathetic-ometer. I was asleep by 9:30 ish! LOL I'm just now enjoying my champagne. mmmmmm . . . sparkling wine!

I'm so excited to see all our friends preparing for their trips!! Have a great time for those who are leaving in the next day or two!

We begin our journey on Monday! Not checking into Disney until Tuesday, though :(

Getting ready to cheer on my Nittany Lions, praying super hard that they can swing a victory today!! We are . . . . . . PENN STATE!!

I am a horrible person for stealing quarters out of my child's Disney Fund Piggy Bank? I need to do laundry in Disney World - I mean, it's Disney related....:confused3 :rotfl:

don't tell Shelly but I'm revamping my ADRs

I've canceled my ADR for Le Cellier [1.23 at 6:50 for 3 people] in case anyone wants to jump on that one.

I've also canceled my ADR for Boma [1.25 at 5:45 for 3 people].

I'm trying NOT to be too sad about losing those ADRs - but only two of us will be at WDW on 1.27 so I might try for a last-minute ADR at either one of those places.

I'm still going to Whispering Canyon - our ADR is for 8:50 on 1.24 - I know that's really late but I wanted to go after we watched Wishes and I had heard that a really cool way to see Wishes is on the boat that takes you from MK to Wilderness Lodge. But will Whispering Canyon be too much atmosphere that late at night? We'll have a 9 month old who actually enjoys loud noises but might be fussy at that time. I guess we can play it by ear to see what we feel like doing at that time. We can always eat a CS meal at MK since it stays open til 9 that night.

I think our group would like that kind of thing but, if everyone is too tired or cranky, then I won't push it. We may not even make it to Wishes! According to my schedule, such as it is, some of us [at least the ones without the baby] will try for the morning EMHs at DHS so we will have been up and at'em since before 8. :faint:

I thought a fun prank would be to go to 50s Prime Time Cafe for lunch - we have a couple of folks in our group who would be wonderful fodder for one of their smart-alecky servers. But I wasn't going to tell them about the server part. Anyway, in talking about having an ADR for PT Cafe, I talked about the home-cooking type of food and 50s atmosphere only to hear, 'I can get that at home! I don't want to go there!' Oh brother...

We'll see - WDW will still be wonderful without the 50s PT Cafe, won't it? Or without Whispering Canyon? Le Cellier? Boma?

I posted a pic a while back of them:goodvibes

I'd love to see everyone's shirts. I still have to make one for my daughter since it's her first trip. A wonderful DISigner made me the cutest "My First Trip" design!

OK OK Twist my arm...here are some of mine :)
