Gosh it seems this "virus" has been making it's way through our thread. I hope I don't catch it from you guys! I am fighting a sinus headache the last few days, but so far, knock wood, no stomach ailments. If you don't count overeating!

Hope you all feel better for your trips! That's what's important right?
I'm having a light week this week at work and plan to use my time wisely - trip planning of course!! I'm going to type up my packing list, ADRs, all my important confirmation #s. Now my binder won't just be full of a bunch of scribbled notes!

The really sad thing is I've been thinking I would rather catch it before I leave than while I'm there LOL..however I just hope to stay healthy period and just take a lot of precautions!

To all Snowbirds that are feeling ill  I am wishing you the best. Maybe some pixie dust sent your way may help you feel better. pixiedust:

I was also thinking of some of the Snowbirds we haven't seen in a little while. I am wishing them all the best too.:grouphug:

I thought I was all planned out but now I see my binder, 8 inches thick (no lies) and now have to redo it. I think I will take out every menu for every place we won't have time to visit this time around and redo some of the information for attractions that are not there anymore or not available. I thought putting all my thoughts and tips in a binder would be much easier. :upsidedow

We are soon going off to a near by city to brave the mall crowds. My DD wants just one more Webkinz and my DS wants just one more Thomas Engine. I hope we survive the crowds. I think that they will be very busy with everyone who received Holiday $$ to spend.

I also phoned up about new tires and brakes. The rough estimate for front brakes only is anywhere from $300-$475. Tires run anywhere from $130-$180 per tire. We do require them, and since I am off on vacation this week, I will make certain they are done. I just keep telling myself that there won't be much at Disney that I will want to buy.

My dear children received quite a lot of cash for Christmas. I have rethought and we are going to use the money to pay for the Pirate Adventure and Alice Tea Party we booked for them. This way, they can specifically state where the money went to for their grandparents and great grandparents that gave them the money. I hope they will show them pictures from their adventures and talk about the fun they had. I hope the grandparents will like this idea.

Have a wonderful day everyone. :flower3:

This might be the first time I even think of doing Laundry on a trip...hmmm I have no idea about all this stuff LOL

Yeah, normally I wouldn't, but we have a two week trip and limited luggage capacity. Last year on our cruise they had a deal for valet laundry - you could stuff a bag full and have it laundered for like $5 or something! I totally took advantage of that!! I wish I could have someone do it at the resort, but I'll make time. I just can't bring two weeks worth of clothes, and bring them all home dirty! UGH! Hopefully I can cram all our undies and t-shirts in a load!

Hey Snowbirds, have been going over the CS menus at allears trying to pick out our places. Any suggestions? Was thinking that maybe we would do the splitting meals thing. Order from the grown up menu & share with the kids. Having hard time w/ MK & Epcot. My kids aren't picky & will eat anything that's not spicy. How are the portions at the Oriental restaraunts?

That sounds like a good idea! Grandparents love to hear about how they spend the money and pictures would be a bonus!
We did get a Wii fit, although we purchased it in August. The ads here are showing $90. They are hard to find, but they're around.

Hey Ladies (amd the occasional gent!)

We are back home now so i will have my own computer now! 3 computers for 6 people for a week just wasn't cutting it! :rotfl: We had a wonderful Christmas with DH's parents and are happy to be home now, if only for a few days! They have invited us back for New Years! His Mom always does an incredible meal for New Year's day! So yummy! I think maybe we will only spend 2 nights this time though! Too much stuff to get prepared for our trip! Gotta go get my girlies some lunch - I'll be back in a while! Hope everybody is happy and healthy! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Oh gosh I sure hope you are right and I am getting it all out now! I seriously feel like there is nothing left! :sad2:

I am just drained and grumpy. I'm sure I'll be back onboard in a few days. We were going to start to pack yesterday but that didn't happen. DS9 keeps saying - when are we going to pack??? He's getting a little paranoid, he knows that I am usually all packed by now! He's so funny, I didn't even turn on the computer yesterday and he said - boy mom, your Disney friends are going to think you betrayed them!! :lmao:

I'm super drained today as well. I've been getting winded just walking up the stairs today. I did manage to change my sheets and throw them in the wash. It feels so good to be laying on clean sheets right now. :goodvibes My DH made his homemade chicken noodle soup yesterday and I just had some. My first real food since Saturday night! Yesterday, I had about half a cracker. My DH ate a few bowls of his soup and had about half a gallon of orange juice yesterday. He really doesn't want to get sick.

All my bedding is in the wash as we speak. It was all I could do to get it off the bed and into the washing machine. My whole body aches.

Yesterday I had 3 1/2 crackers. My stomach is just growling away right now, but I'm not sure what to eat. . . I'm afraid! :scared1:

I was afraid to eat today as well, but I'm in the clear. I talked to my mom last night and I guess that she was sick on Friday and Saturday. Plus, my little started feeling sick on Christmas night into Friday. I guess I know where I got my bug from!

Same here we all had it & just found out that MIL had it Sat & now sister has it today. My mom got it Fri. I have been nibbling on dry ceral today. So far so good. just achey & lightheaded.

I have been bleaching sheets & blankets all weekend. Luckily we each have 3 or 4 sets per bed.

Okay, you've all convinced me to go home tonight and clean and disinfect my whole house!! I did do the kids' sheets over the weekend. Now to tackle the bathrooms!!
And them I'm going to the store and buying OJ and grapefruit etc!

My sis and BIL are coming over for NYE, so I'll be cleaning my house the next two days. I'm just too weak to do it today or else I would. I'll probably wipe some stuff down today (phones, doorknobs, etc) but that's about all I'm able to do. I really need to go grocery shopping, but that's going to have to wait til tomorrow as well.

You guys inspired me so I just got done cleaning the bathroom YAY!!! And now on to the kitchen and maybe even that dreaded laundry LOL!!

yuck I'm so sorry so many Snowbirds are sick. My dd is battling a cold but has been doing better the past couple of days. We had the stomach bug a few weeks after Thanksgiving so I'm crossing my fingers we're done with it.

Crzyred so glad your mom is better!!!!

Laundry Question:laundy: - I think it was $2 a load to wash and $2 for a 1/2 hour dry time. I usually stuff the washer but split it into smaller loads to dry since the dryers take a bit longer to get everything dry.

I went out this morning to get snacks and drinks for the car ride and the last of the toiletries! I have all my bags and suitcases on the bed and I'm getting myself organized! I just need to get juiceboxes and tennis shoes for us yet! 25 more days for me!

So sorry you are not feeling well Shelly! The same to the rest of you who are not well! Sure hope you all feel better soon!

I have many friends who are nurses and they swear by the BRAT system for post puky tummies! Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast! Do this for 24 hrs after you've been throwing up and then reintroduce more food slowly! Again, hope all those sicky tummies feel better soon! :goodvibes

I KNOW!!

Now we're doing the birthday cake dance "I don't know, what do you want?" and then - THEN!!! - after that we're all done planning. More or less.

I'm also thinking I might be the only one here who hasn't started to pack! I don't know what the weather is going to be just yet (hey, where's Soliel with her weather reports? is she out having a life or something?!) and I certainly canNOT get my husband to even think of it.

Of course, last time he packed for himself for Disney, he packed jeans and sweaters and the temps were in the low 80s all week. Maybe I should pack for him.... ;)

We leave in 10 days and I haven't started packing at all! We recently moved into our new home, so most of our clothes are still in boxes. That certainly makes packing for a trip even more stressful!

We're only going for 7 days (usually we go for 14), so I think I'm only going to bring one pair of shorts, 2 capris, 1 jeans, 2 short sleeved shirts, 3 long sleeved, 1 or 2 sweatshirts, 1 swimsuit, teevas and sneakers. The forecast isn't looking as nice as I had hoped, mostly lower 60's in the daytime and some rain. Ahh well, at least we'll be at WDW!:thumbsup2

You're not the only one. We leave in 5 days, and I haven't packed anything yet!

Hope all those who are sick get better quick, and those who are healthy stay that way! (I did receive my Clorox Bleach wipes, though, so they're going with me. :rotfl: )

Yesterday I went out to a local liquor store to buy champagne for New Year's Eve at a store that routinely cards people (as if I would ever look under 21 again!). And discovered that, unbenownst to me, my driver's license had expired! :scared1: So I head over to the DMV today, get a new picture (another :scared1: ) and get it renewed. Of course, it says on the temporary license "Not valid for identification." Thank G-d I got a passport last year; at least I can get on the plane!

My mom swears by the BRAT diet as well. It works like a charm every time!

Oh yes, I forgot about the BRAT diet. The pediatrician used to tell me that for the kids when they were younger. Applesauce does sound good!
