Soleil's QOTD- I would love to meet Bullseye (did I spell that right?) from Toy Story. He's just so cute! I'm also a fan of the villians (love that store at DHS!).

Ok. It was sunny and in the 40's this morning and then when I went to pick up my DD from school, it was in the 30's and raining. Yuck! I hate cold rain!

So when I woke up this morning it was snowing. We got about 1 1/2 inches total. So not a lot but enough that people have to learn how to drive in the snow again. I saw some guy go in the ditch this morning with his brand new BMW, so I stopped to see if he was ok, and he was swearing up a storm about how the city never takes care of the roads. I'm like "ok you're good, bye!" I just wanted to say "well if you weren't driving like a freakin maniac, ya dork".:confused3

WOW - IT' LIKE WE LIVE PARALLEL LIVES!!

I work for Starbucks - what's your excuse?

HaHa! I work at a store called World Market. We've been doing stock for about 3 weeks now to get ready for Christmas. Tomorrow we get a freight truck at 5am, so I have to be there even earlier....ugh.:guilty:

Question of the Day anyone???

Okay, this is not really Disney related. . . Well I guess it is to those of you driving. Just curious how much gas is everywhere???

I think it was $1.81 when I came home from work. It's been going down day by day.:woohoo:

Hey everyone! It's a tough day here at work. One of our ministry assistants (in her 30's) lost her husband unexpectedly last night. He collapsed at work and they were unable to revive him. It is very quiet and somber around here today. I don't ever know how to act in these situations.

Hope everyone is having a great day.:)

Oh goodness. That's so hard. Thoughts and prayers.

I know we sort of had a QOTD... but I have another Disney related one.

Which atypical character would you love to hug on your upcoming trip? (i.e. not Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, a princess.... you get the point.:goodvibes )

For me-it's these guys!

On our first trip my brother and I got our picture taken with LaunchPad McQuack. I'd probably like to do that again, just to compare the pictures.

I wanted to get the rods to bring home as gifts to people. I hope it's still three! I may be bringing home rice krispie treats instead.

Hey Snowbirds! Quick hello, long Monday today and a busy one.
Only 5 more Mondays till I do disney!

I need some help....

I am very confused about the Extra Magic Hours at the Magic Kingdom on January 4th. It says 'up to three hours', but it doesn't exactly state whethere it is one, two or three extra hours.

Does anyone know where to find an answer?:confused3

I always thought if it is night magic hours it was three hours after park closes.
If it is day time magic hours they open one hour before regular park hours.
So if MK is closing at 8pm that night on Jan. 4th, they should be open to resort guest till 11pm.

As for QOTD: Umm...Mickey!

Hello Everyone,

I finally caught up...I've been sick since Friday...feeling better now.

Hope your feeling better!!!!!

My morning started a little grumpy with a couple of email notices from my bank that someone was trying to access our online account last night while dh and I were sleeping peacefully- and yes I was dreaming of Disney Crocs! If they only knew how little $$$ was in there:lmao: ! So I just finished changing passwords and ID's and pulling up my credit reports and all of that fun stuff. I just don't understand how some people go so wrong in life:confused3 . It's really sad that someone would want to take what little we have and not even think twice.

OMG.... thats awful.... good thing your bank was on top of it!!!

Have a good night! :wave2:

So I had a productive afternoon. I left work at 1:30 ran to Wal-mart quick to get fish food ( I really hate running there in the middle of the day now for one thing...), came home and had to call Disney and cancel/change some things around for our first 2 nights (we had more than one room booked, so we switched to a suite), then had to change our reservation for Friday night at Boma's to Thursday (Jan. 8) at 7:10, I also had to re-add our Magical Express stuff (don't know why they "didn't have it" but they didn't). Then ran to the bank to transfer money to write a check to my sister so we can pay off our DVC rental points by Dec. 6. Than called to make an eye appointment but they were incredibly busy so they will be calling me back tomorrow (:headache: ).

Also this afternoon I washed some windows and put up our Disney Christmas window clings from The Dollar Store.

Man, I'm tired!:rotfl: Off to make some grilled cheese now.

They were by the Backlot Tour in May! :thumbsup2

I need to search them out- we missed them completely. DD loved this movie... she carried around the Celia Mcdonald's toy everywhere. she lost it and was so sad, I had to hunt one down, we then found the original Celia Welia- in grandma's couch!!!
:sulley:

QOTD - I just paid $1.89 per gallon. I never thought it would go that low again.

Disney QOTD - I hope to get to see and hug Wall-E and/or Bolt! Both are SO cute!

Good morning everyone.

I’m back to vent again about my poor DD (7 yo). Friday night, she played at her best friend’s house and was even invited to stay for dinner. She was also invited to go shopping with them the next day (or as she called it “hang out”) at the outlet mall. She was SO excited and couldn’t wait! It felt like a teenage thing to her, I’m sure.

Anyway, she got all dressed and ready to go, went over on Saturday morning and was informed they would NOT be going shopping and that she was NOT permitted to come back until after Christmas!! Why – because they played with a pen that they apparently were not supposed to.

Now, I am all for disciplining your children when they disobey, but does anyone else think this is incredibly harsh! I know the punishment is for DD’s friend (just turned 7), to reinforce, but I could NEVER do something that rough – especially around the holidays. These girls are best friends, and would really enjoy the next month together. I tried to call but their phone must be hooked up only for internet, since it just rings and then eventually goes to a long beep. I don’t want to confront her in person, as I know it’s her child and her choice.

My heart is breaking so much for DD right now. First, her grandmother won’t buy her the American Girl doll because of the “sticking out her tongue” thing, and now she’s banned from playing with her best friend for a month. I actually cried with her.

So, I have to work harder to entertain her now, which is okay, and don’t think I mind, it’s just that a lot of my entertaining is WORK – decorating, cookies, cleaning, you know what I mean.

I’m going to try and set up some play dates with some other friends from school. I was thinking of letting them mess up the kitchen and just do a batch of snicker doodles on their own (with my working the oven, of course).

I told her that we’ll still have a great Christmas and we have Disney to look forward to, so to try and not be so sad about losing her friend for a month.

Ah, the joys of motherhood!! :cloud9:

I suppose it's possible that they (or at least the friend) had been told not to use the pen before, but to me it doesn't justify a whole month of no playing together.... unless it was a space pen, and they were trying to launch it to space.
My guess is it probably had less to do with your DD and more to do with the friend. Taking away the privileges of seeing your daughter might have been the only way to make sure the point got across :confused3

Oh, I'm so sorry. That is terrible!

I have been printing a lot at work (shhh!) but can't do color stuff here. That's okay though. I usually print everything in b/w except the really cool maps! That's why I got the personalized maps of the parks - saves me ink and paper!

I print at work sometimes too, but we only have access to b/w and only one computer. I rarely get the chance to actually spend any significant time on that computer, because my coworkers are addicted to Facebook.

Welcome to the new Snowbirds! WooHoo!

I am really on a Jungle Book kick these days.

Those guys are my favorite to hug too! I think it has something to do with how cuddly they are...

I'm pretty sure 3 hours is standard. Maybe they say UP TO three hours in case the parks are completely dead and there just aren't enough people to justify the extra time.
I'm banking on the Magic Kingdom being open the full three hours that night. Then, if I can convince Logan that we NEED to visit a park after dinner we can get a couple MK hours in...

Oooh in Extra Magic Hour news I just read this on the wdwinfo site
EVENING EMH WRISTBAND DISTRIBUTION ENDED

Disney has eliminated distributing wristbands to their resort guests staying for evening Extra Magic Hour. Be sure to have your resort ID as it it will be required at the attractions.

I went to our local Disney Store on my lunch today. DH said we had bought enough , so only could we get things if they were really discounted. I figured we were save because nothing would be too discounted this close to christmas.... WRONG!!!
We bought....

2008 Tinkerbell tree Topper - her wings light up, they had her dressed in green as a Tinker or in her original white dress. I chose Tinker dress!:tink:

Set of 4 bugs life pins $6.99
Pair of Belle Sandals/shoes that light up for $8.99 ( DD is getting the yellow dress for christmas)

While I was in the grocery store the gas dropped from $2.09 to $2.05.

So it is now $2.05 here in western PA.

Now when we were in Niles Ohio Saturday it was $1.79 there. Can you believe that??? Why so much cheaper only an hour away???

Gas is $1.63 just down the road. I love watching it drop by the hour.

I've had a long day! I had to work today :( The holiday has my schedule all messed up.

I'm excited though because only in just 6 short weeks, we will be climbing aboard our plane for Disney!!
