thanks for the info on the show! maybe they have gotten better! who knows, I just am craving for something disney at the moment and the disney store will not hack it!

I agree as well, I do not carry a purse at all. I take my carry on with the vitals, license and emergency CC, but when i am in the parks its our KTTW with privildges and ID's espically after our last trip when somedays we were getting ID'd and others were weren't.

I do have a couple of questions for you professional Disney Goer's :thumbsup2

I really don't want to carry my purse with me all day and I see from the pictures that the safe in the room isn't big at all, what do you all do with your stuff?

Tipping at meals...Do you think charging tips to the room is a good idea or should I figure on bringing enough cash with me for tips?

I will be carrying a mini-messanger type bag. It will hold my camera, keys, ID card and tip money. DH might possibly carry a back pack. Whatever you decide, just keep it simple and light.:goodvibes

Yesterday my 2009 WDW planning DVD came in the mail. I told the boys when they got home. To that DS9 said - So what, it's not like we are going in 2009. And then he pouted! :rotfl:

Got ours too. Not too much different, just one section on the Celebration theme, but all of the other sections are still about "dreams".

It was still fun to watch it, though.

Hi we got our video too. I thought it would have changed some. But the main part was the same as last year. I don't care though. It is a glimps into my upcoming vacation. We are going to be as happy and dreamy as those people right?;)

I'm with the "small purse" crowd. I take my room key, my phone, any passes I need, my ID, my insurance card and a few bucks. I charge things to my room and leave the credit card in the safe. I'm not on the DDP, so I will charge meals & tip to the room. It forces me to clean out the purse at home and take only the essentials! And it takes a load off my shoulders - literally!

I haven't watched it yet.

Are they still giving out dreams in 2009 then?

I need the things in my purse for the trip down there. I do have a backpack, but my concern is what to do with my stuff.

I take a small backpack. Plenty of room for my wallet, camera, bottle of water, a few fruit snacks/granola bars (these small snacks help keep costs down on buy snacks in the parks). It also fits a sweatshirt. I don't have any problems on rides, I just stick it between my legs or in the little storage net thingy in front of me on the ride.

As for locking things in the room. I take a lock along for my suitcase (don't use it at the airport) but I lock things in my suitcase and leave the key then in the safe. It's not totally safe in there, however it's something.

OK so Mickey is SOOO close to the castle on my ticker. However I'm thinking of "updating" my ticker. BUT MICKEY IS SO CLOSE!!! If I "update" he'll be so far away :rotfl:

OK stupid "edit" thingy isnt' working. So Mickey isn't "close" to the castle....he's ON the castle. :lmao: I'm so tired....:rolleyes1

Our valuables fit into our wallets. We only take what we need into the parks, and leave the rest (checkbook, insurance cards, etc.) in our wallets in the safe.

Try not to take anything more than you need. I'm not sure about what to do with my laptop. I think I'll lock it into a suitcase with a locking strap that you would have to cut to get into it. Then put that into another suitcase!!! I definitely need the laptop or I wouldn't be taking that either.

This is a great idea. D will have her laptop with her, as she is flying directly back to college from Orlando. We usually lock things in our suitcase, but I like the idea of a more secure lock like this. I'll have to check them out.

Since we're in a timeshare, I'm not worried about locking anything up. We don't get housekeeping service. So much for not making our beds while on vacation! When we went with my parents, we would just ask for fresh towels every few days and they would bring them. My dad brought his laptop and would keep it on the dining room table all day even when we were gone.

I really like the idea about putting locks on your suitcase. THat is what I am going to do with my laptop is put it in my suitcase and then lock it up and then put it in an away spot. I want to be able to give some live updates while I'm on my trip.

2 more days guys!!! 2 more days until Winter Break and I can finally relax a bit....I'm going to use that time to so do some more DIsney planning and really get my itinerary in order.

8 days...wow i have to get my parents' gifts mail ASAP...what am I thinking!

oh my Christmas is in 8 days!!!! I had so much on my to do list today and got none of it done. My baby girl has a fever of 104.3...looks like we're headed to the peds office in the morning. It sprung up out of nowhere this afternoon and she's not wetting diapers as much so I'm wondering if it's a UTI.:sad2: It breaks my heart when my kids are sick.

After the year *I've* had, I agree with you. Much rather go to the dentist.

That being said, I had my post-op appointment today with my surgeon. I'm good to go! The best news is that she told me she got everything out during surgery. There was some doubt (though the surgery was likely to be effective even if she didn't get it all), but I'm absolutely thrilled. And now, I can go back to normal.

(Since my surgery, without the stress, my hair has stopped falling out, old wounds are healing up, and my skin is clearer. Plus I'm not nearly as run down. It's great)
Sarah I'm so happy you're getting back to normal! :cutie:
Good Evening Snowbirds,

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile as I have been feeling under the weather. I am at 4 weeks of having one nasty cold. It doesn't help that I work in retail and sick people keep coming near me. Oh well. I finally had enough and sinus pain I went to the hospital on Saturday night. The doctor told me that he still thinks it is a normal cold and since I kept taking decongestants that is the reason my cold has lasted so long. I am trying to stay off any cold medications but my ears have fluid behind the ear drums and I am really irritated by being hearing impaired and feeling bad. Only 8 more days to go until I can have a week of vacation time and stay away from other ill people! I am sorry for being grumpy.

I am so happy for everyone that their tickers are coming to the end! It is so exciting to see everyone becoming very happy and glad their vacation is finally becoming reality.

I wish everyone a safe and good night.

Work is keeping me too busy right now, so best wishes for everyone!

Remmy
I hope you're feeling well soon- you've been sick for quite a while!
The preschool just had their Christmas program. It was the cutest thing! There's nothing quite like 4 year olds acting out the nativity scene.:cutie:
how precious!:santa:

I have no idea how you are keeping this a secret! It must be eating you alive!!!:headache:

Forgot to ask if anyone has heard from Carrie yet...I know checking in with the Snowbirds must be at the top of her list of things to do right now! :lmao:

Perhaps this guy can conjure her out of hiding...:dancer:
