Shelly, I'm creeped out by what you said about your friend's PTR. I hope it wasn't anything too personal or threatening. Sometimes I just don't understand what makes some people so strange. It does make you think twice. Hugs to her! :grouphug: And a big high five to your son- he's much braver than me! I hate getting my eyes dilated!

I would love to schedule some get togethers but after reading about scary people on the DIS I'm not sure I want to post specifics of where I'll be. Perhaps some PM's are in order?

I'm pretty sure it was just some harmless weirdo. People are strange. We do just all need to be really careful about what we post is all. We probably do give out a little too much info sometimes. I try to be very careful. But at the same time I am not going to live my live in constant fear. Do you know what I mean???

I don't think posting lists of our Meets are much different than posting where we are staying and where we are eating. Plus these will be right out in a very public place.

:confused3

If anyone is feeling uneasy about their info being out there just let me know and I can take you off the lists if you'd like. . .

I don't think it's harsh. Statistically even when women work, they are still expected to do all the housework and everything else. If a man wants to be a stay-at-home Dad, then all power to him, but he should step up and do the cooking, the cleaning, and the laundry. Most of them just sit on their butts all day sulking because they don't have jobs, instead of pitching in and trying to make the most out of the situation.

My Prince Charming is actually a part-time Stay at Home Dad. I used to work for myself from home, but then when I went back to work full time, DH stayed at home (I'm the one with the professional job.) Once we found out we had a special needs child, then the concept of day care or before and after school care went out the window - at least in those days. It would be fine today. Anyway, he gets the kids off to school in the morning, then again in the afternoon. He does laundry, dishes and starts dinner (if I give him specific instructions ;) ). He's the most wonderful man in the world!!

Sorry for being mushy - my anniversary is next week and I was just remembering how much I love him, I guess even more today. We'll be married 21 years on the 21st:bride: :groom: , and together 24 years this January :cloud9: .

I know I try to be as careful as possible especially with me traveling by myself. There have been a few times I have caught myself posting my last name and then had to go back and edit because I was like ooopss!! I guess I'm one of the few too trusting. Although I guess I'm more worried about identity theft and someone stealing my ADRs LOL!!! But oh well...I refuse to live my life in fear just as Shelly said and hope Disney has some great security!!

My older sister's b-day is Dec. 27...my mom has always insisted that she receive 2 presents and she celebrates on a different day...no b-day presents on Christmas...mom has said it wasn't her choice to be born that day, so why shouldn't she get her own day...that's Mom's Christmas/b-day soapbox.

That's so wonderful! I love that you are being mushy and I think it's wonderful that your DH is a SAH Dad.

I'm very mushy about my DH, too.

It's always good to remind ourselves how blessed we are..... I know how easy it is to get annoyed and bitter at the little things DH does (shaving above an open tube of toothpaste, not wiping the peanut butter of the knife and leaving it in his office to dry, ect. ) and doesn't do. It's always important to try and see the things that really matter.

I definitely understand what you mean. I think living in fear gives the weirdos the upper hand. I just get creeped out by stuff like this. Guess that's why I avoid the news.:rolleyes1

Plus I know all my Snowbird friends will have my back while I'm in WDW!::cop:

Sharadoc, you are blessed to have such a great husband and your son is blessed to have such a wonderful hands on Dad! I hope you have a wonderful anniversary!

Although I guess I'm more worried about identity theft and someone stealing my ADRs LOL!!!
stealing your ADR's- ha ha! :lmao:

shaving above an open tube of toothpaste
Yours does this too huh?
last night my dh gave both kids a bath and got them ready for bed and cleaned up dinner while I ran to the store. Usually I come home and everything is waiting for me. Focusing on the little things is the best!!!!

Hey Shelly Since you are the CBR queen...

Have all of the rooms been redone or just the ones in the preferred buildings? I'm going to start doing my homework on what's changed since we've been there- I can't wait to see the pool! I figured I'd ask you before I tackle all the CBR threads.

They started in Martinique, then did Barbados, so they are both entirely done. Right now they are working on Aruba. I haven't heard that they are done with those buildings yet. I would assume they will be done soon and then move onto Jamaica, since it's next after Aruba. . . I'm hoping that doesn't mean they will be working on Jamaica in January, because that's where I want to stay. But I would be happy with Aruba too. Anyway, then all that would be left would be Trinidad South and Trinidad North. Trinidad South is to be converted to the Pirate rooms and they have started taking bookings for those rooms for arrival dates of January 24 and after. But there's been no word that they've even started those rooms yet. . . I will definitely try to get us all some more up to date info on the rehab as we get closer!

Have you looked at all the beautiful pictures on the CBR pics thread? :goodvibes

You Laugh!! But that was seriously my biggest concern...what if someone takes my ADR at 1900 PF...that had me greatly worried LOL (I'm a loon..I embrace it)

My NDH is a really good man!! I love him to pieces. We have been doing a lot more of the little things together lately and it really has allowed me to appreciate him more!

I would upset if someone stole my LeCellier. It is so darn hard to get that ADR!!!

Morning Snowbirds,

Hope everyone is having a great Friday...not sure everyone saw my post last night...read on the Pirate and Princess thread that the dates maybe changing and they are no longer showing on dates on Disney's website...maybe there will be some January and early Feb. dates for everyone.

I did see your post. I'm hoping that they add one the last Friday in Jan!!!

I would love to schedule some get togethers but after reading about scary people on the DIS I'm not sure I want to post specifics of where I'll be. Perhaps some PM's are in order?

PM's are the way to go I think. I did volunteer to make a list of schedules, but then I could just PM or email the list to the people that want it. When I read about creepy posts and such, it does scare me a bit. I know that I'm being watched over from above, but I still get creeped out sometimes.

DD's birthday is January 25, too, so we'll be shopping right along with ya! She's determining where we're going to shop - it's her day! I'm hoping to be at DTD that day, probably just going to shop and girls lunch in the afternoon, then go to Chef Mickey's for her birthday

I think that we've talked about maybe meeting at Earl of Sandwich for dinner or something like that on the 25th. I arrive in Orlando at 1:20pm. Then we need to get our baggage, pick up our rental car and see if our room is ready. We plan on heading to DTD in the evening. I'd love it if more Snowbirds could come hang out!

If anyone wants to try and schedule a Dis meet from Jan 3-9 you can PM me and we will try and get something going.:goodvibes
