I'm still not taking repsonsibility for your purchases! :) I'm glad my Target wasn't the only one without Heath. I did get DD5 to offer me her one Heath bar!

Thanks for sharing about your surgery. Really I wasn't trying to be nosy, I was concerned. I'm glad it's not a problem that will continue. Best of luck. pixiedust:

I've told everyone on my Livejournal friends list... but they all have the choice to read what I write. People here don't, so I wasn't sure I should share or overshare, do you know what I mean? I'm not embarassed by it, just sparing everyone's tender eyes.

:lmao:

And my DH takes responsibility for the Target purchases. He was like a kid on, er, Hallowee... oh, never mind. ;) Anyway, he went for an 18 mile run and I went and bought chocolate. Don't you love it?! Anyway, he's very happy with all the candy we now have. (I think it's a comfort thing for both of us - we don't always eat it, but when we don't have it, we whine.)

Good luck on the pre-op! We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Any word on the niece/nephew? I just LOVE being an Auntie!

Nothing yet. *waits impatiently*

If the new member is a niece, I have the perfect cross-stitch project I think I'll finish for her: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sarbah77/1427786081/in/set-72157600770879260/

It's called Once Upon a Time and it's big (like 10x14 inches?). I was thinking I could put her name and birthdate over the lady's head and then get it professionally framed.

But this same SIL has been disdainful of homemade stuff so I might end up saving it for my brother's first child. We'll see!!

I just got my invoice via email from the package reservation I made yesterday. So I just wanted to share this - it does have the letters - FKR on it. . . :rotfl: So apparently that is NOT a code, as I did NOT get any type of discount. I'd say that the same goes for the DUY that was out there. I think those are just letters maybe representing the type of package or reservation you booked. No codes.

I just had to laugh and think of you all when I saw those letters! :rotfl2:

I really need to get on here more often, I finally caught up with part II and now there is part III.

I am actually very stressed to trasnfers my room only ressie to a package. I don't know why? I am feeling overwhelmed with all this code watching, planning etc etc. It doesn;t help my home pc is on the fritz and ALL my planning was saved there! Lesson learned to back up on disk, even usb key to transfer to another pc.

Knowing you have booked Shelley and you're on top of this, gives me hope to go ahead and transfer the ressie.

We had a busy October. It was DD's birthday, she had a big birthday bash, Halloween and our dog passed away due to acute renal failure :(. Added on top is a ton of work stress.

I would appreciate some positive reinforcement from the fellow snowbirds to help ease my stress and calm me down!

I can't even get my dinner ressies posted as they're on the old PC. We are hopefully picking it up reapired today ! fingers crossed.

Thanks for listening to my stress! :(

 pixiedust: Here's hoping that things get better and less stressful SOON! So sorry about your dog.:sad1: Life can get crazy but it will all work out soon. Try not to stress about little things, just remember that you are going to DISNEY WORLD! All the planning in the world won't make it perfect, and you can have a great time without a lot of the planning stress. Hang in there! Your snowbirds are here for you!! :grouphug: Hopefully when you get your PC back, all your things will be there. My fingers are crossed for you too. :)

Hello Drakes! :goodvibes

Turning the room only ressie into a package was pretty easy. :) They did have to cancel the room only ressie and refund me the deposit I had on that and then book an entirely new ressie with a new confirmation number and then charge me the $200 deposit on that. But I knew that going in. So it was pretty simple.

I am so sorry about your dog. Our dog is 12 and we really dread the day that he will no longer be with us. The kids have never known life without him. So I really feel for what you must be going through.

I hope you get everything straightened out with your computer. We look forward to chatting with you more. :grouphug:

I'm not too terribly challenged in the electronics dept, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to put a countdown thingy on my signature. I made one, now I don't know what to do with it!

/

Never ate at the Yak & Yeti. Don't know why a place with Yak in the title just hasn't appealed to me!! :confused3 :rotfl: Just kidding. I remember when we were going to the Coral Reef a friend of mine on the DIS said to me that she thought it was gross to go eat fish while there were fish swimming in a tank next to you and looking at you! :lmao: Didn't bother DH when he ordered a big fish dinner! :rotfl:

I had the same thought. Yak. Not so appetizing. Though their menu looks good. We might try the counter service while at AK.

There's a restaurant here called Matt and Rotty. :confused3 I'm guessing it's either a famous character here or the name got lost in translation. Anyone interested in eating at a restaurant called Rotty? Not me! We laugh every time we pass that place at the food court. Even my kids giggle.:lmao:

Well, time for bed! I'm really hoping for a magical code tomorrow! Have a great night!

Okay Remmy and Trixie - I have tried my hardest to fit this cute little guy into my signature, but it just won't fit without having to remove something else, he's just too big!

Thanks for sending him anyway! :goodvibes

Gobble ~ Thanks Trixie & Remmy

Do you think Disney just hasn't released January codes yet because they're not happy with the occupancy for November/December and are trying to fill those times first? Just something I thought about during the night last night...and codes don't even apply to me. See how much I care about my Snowbirds? :grouphug:
Thanks for the love! A few people have speculated that they are having trouble filling hte rest of 2008 and that's why but I guess we won't know for a little while yet...perhaps tomorrow? I actually had a dream last night that they did the free dining again and was so happy when I woke up thinking it was real. Pathetic that I'm dreaming of codes.

Well, some of you may remember (about 100 pages ago or so :rotfl: ) that I was considering cancelling our Jan. trip due to the economy. I told DH about it. He said, "For what it's worth, I think you should go. It may be the last trip with DD [sophomore in college] and you've put this off for a couple of years already." And he's not even going with us! So despite the misgivings, we're going! :cool1:

Now if we could just get a code . . . :surfweb:

Happy Sunday all! Sending good wishes & pixie dust to all who need them! pixiedust:
You know I was thinking of doing the same thing. But no matter what happens with the economy, taking time with family is what matters most. So DH and I are going with DD and celebrate our tenth anniversary like we planned. But we are cutting back on a few things that won't matter much....like dropping the Dining Plan and watching the food budget. I am only going to keep 3 ADR's for celebration reasons like Cali Grille for anniversary dinner and Norway Princess so DD has one character meal experience. And we are driving....airlines and prices are more then the drive down even if gas were to be $4 per gallon at time of trip. So here's to looking forward to making memories.......which will mean more then an extra $1 in my pocket.
Here, Here!! We are doing okay with the economy and decided to keep our trip and enjoy. MY MIL is coming and you just never know how many more trips you will have together, you know? We are trying to keep costs reasonable. I'm going to scrimp and save a lot over the next year because we want to book the cruise bounceback offer and go on the 3 day in December and get to WDW with all the Christmas stuff. I may stay at value, or if MIL is with us go SOG. Still planning on SOG (I keep typing SOB by accident! :rolleyes1 ) unless a FABULOUS deal comes out.
We figured out it would be cheaper for us to buy a multi day park hopper with no expiration (6 or 7 days) than an AP. Might get MIL an AP if she plans to go with another sibling's family and then back with us again in Dec. So much planning, so little time!!
Got to go hide the candy (from all of us) :) Do you think I can hide it well enough that I won't remember where it is?
We are kind of doing the same thing. Putting it on the Disney Visa- no interest for 6 months and will pay it off with our tax refund. We thought of putting it off until the economy brightens a bit but my parents are going and who knows how many more years they will be with us. I want the experience for my children and myself. The memories are worth more to me. And let's face it- if I keep waiting til I'm rich then I'll be waiting forever and never get there! We're staying at a Value, driving rather than flying, only doing a couple character meals- mostly the cheaper ones, and having a very light Christmas- Santa is giving us Disney Dollars in our stockings so we can go to Disney. Of course a code wouldn't hurt either!

My DH and I had a great time at the costume party last night. I'll try to post some pics later. I love it when my parents have my DD over for the night. Then, we don't have to worry about staying out too late for a sitter. She LOVES staying over there anyways. She has her own bedroom over there (she's the only grandchild) with a queen sized bed. Well, off I go!
Can't wait to see the pics! Your dd is so lucky to have her own room- nothing less for a princess though. princess:

WE GOT OUR VISAS!!!!!:cool1:   :cool1:
Hooray!!!!

About the Disney Visa 5x7 at Epcot Innoventions, yes we have done this many times and somtimes multiple times during the same trip. It is over past the fire safety experience usually for about 3 hours in the afternoon. One little sign and a curtained area are the only indications of this experience. So you definitely have to look for it.

You get a private session with Disney characters, no guarantee who or how many, for about 5-10 minutes and as many pics taken as you want. Photopass photographers are there and the pics can go on your photopass card. You are given a voucher for a free 5x7 pic to be redeemed for that day. It is one pic per cardholder per day. For us, DH and I both have our own cards so we get 2 vouchers.

Once you enter the photographers began snapping, so I have cool shots of DD interacting with the characters. As well as staged shots of the family as a whole.

It is a very cool thing to take the time to do and well worth it. I don't know how much longer they will be doing this for and hope it will still be there next January.
Thanks so much for explaining all this! I was wondering how it worked- I hope they still continue it in January!

Sorry to hear about your dog. :sad1:
I transferred to a package from room only nad it was very smooth- just like Shelly said- so don't worry!

Hello Snowbirds! :goodvibes Happy Sunday to you!
Let's see if I can get all caught up here without all the quotes. . . . .

Perhaps tomorrow will be our lucky day for codes. . . Or maybe as someone said (I think it was Trixie) maybe WDW is more concerned with filling rooms for the remainder of 2008 right now. . . :confused3

Congratulations on the Visas Peach3es! :cool1:

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words on the camera! I'm so excited to use it at WDW!! :yay:

Cute Halloween pics everyone! :goodvibes

I think that's about it. Nothing much going on here today. It's nice out and the boys are outside riding their 4-wheelers!

:rotfl: At the Eating fish at the Coral Reef:rotfl: I had never thought of it that way!! That is too funny...I had read somewhere that someone was afraid to eat bacon in front of Piglet...I'm going to have to think on that one too LOL

I'm really hoping tomorrow will be a great code day for all our snowbirds still waiting on codes!!! I want you all to get a great discount!

Awww..Shelly I love that gobbler...he is too cute for words!!!

I finally figured out how to get my gobbler on there! Thanks Shelly! I read the instructions 5 times before I understood them!! Is there a "duh" smilie? I think I mentioned previously that I am not techno savvy. Nuf said. Where'd it go? Okay, got it now!!

Okay, I think I got my Gobbler in there! :goodvibes

That turkey is the cutest thing! My daughter's school mascot is a turkey (!) and it's rare to see cute ones...

Hope everyone is doing well. I had a fright this morning with an e-mail from Northwest that my flights changed (again). Luckily it only looks like 20 minutes each way, so I can live with that. I'm so paranoid - last trip my airline ceased operations...:scared1:

I got an email from NWA too! My flight was moved 20 minutes earlier! Not too bad. Better than later. Now we arrive at 5 p.m. Still enough time to go out to DTD and eat! :)

Good afternoon everyone!

Hope you are all doing ok today.

I had to work this morning. When I got there, there were about 20 people lined up outside waiting to get in. My first thought was that there was some huge sale that I didn't know about. Well after a short conversation with one of them I found out that none of them remembered the time change :rotfl: . I found that rather comical because this lady was yelling at me because the store wasn't open yet!

So I came home and raked. Now I'm cleaning my room :headache: .

I'm hungry...must go find food.

I just want to say I am here and I do hope everything starts to go easier for you. I hope your PC problems get fixed and no glitches. This is my family's first time making all of the arrangements for our trip. I changed over to a package deal and depending on who you went through, you should be able to change to any deal that comes out.

Here is wishing you and your family all the best.

Remmy

Cryred,
Do you work in the Fox River Mall? Or what store are you at? I only get to Appleton about once a year...not a big shopper:rolleyes1 BUT I am going to Schaumberg, IL to the Ikea store and to the Woodfield Mall next weekend on a bus trip. There is a Disney store and also a Disney Vacation store there...so excited for those 2!:lovestruc
