We are new to pin trading. I have seen the pins being sold at the Disney Stores. Are these some of the same pins being sold at the World?

My other question, is do you wear the pins you like around or only those you wish to trade? Thus far my kids want only to do pressed pennies but you never know they may change their minds if they see others pin trading. I just want to be prepared on what to do.

Thanks Remmy

We traded pins for the first time last year. We waited till we got there & bought a cheapy starter set & traded those. DD used her own money to buy the ones she "had" to have.

This year I found out about mousepinsonline.com. They sell authentic tradeable pins at really resonable prices. We are going to buy a grab bag selection sort them & pick out ones we would like to trade. It was alot of fun & we got talking with tons of cast members. Oh yeah that was DH & myself agreement DD could only trade & talk to CM's. But she is also only 9.

My kids aren't quite big enough for pin trading yet (almost 5yrs and almost 2yrs when we go). This will be our first time experiencing Autograph books! :scared: I think I'm going to just do one autograph book and they can share.

A couple of fun things my kids did when they were younger were the passports at Epcot... and at the Kidcot stations throughout Epcot they got to decorate a mask... not sure if it is the same thing... also over by the Living of the Land ride they made cookies. they got to wear chef hats... it was cute..... maybe our fearless leader Shelly might know more about that... it has been a while since mine were that young....

Monny2AE good luck with that!LOL We let DD do that the first year we went. I honestly think we spent more time in autograph lines then in food lines & ride lines combined! But we did get some great interaction with the characters. It was awesome meeting Jafar. He was walking past the teacups & DD spotted him but was to scared to meet him. So DH went up with her book & got it signed & told Jafar about it. He turned to her waved, held her book up over his head stuck out his foot & pointed to Chuck & then his foot! He made CHuck kiss his boot before he returned her autograph book to her. It was hilarious!!!

I'm hoping to take an autograph book just in case and if my son is interested then we'll get the autographs but I really don't want to spend tons of vacation time in lines for autographs.

I think we are definitely going to do the KidCot activities- they're free so why not! Not sure about the passport yet. I'll see how it goes I think.

That is hilarious!!!! My dh would die!!!!! :rotfl: Maybe I should do the autograph book after all- just to get to see something funny happen to my dh! Although it could backfire and I could find myself having to do something silly- maybe I should think on this one! :sad2:

Wow!! Thanks for the website! I'm thinking of buying some pins and maybe doing some trading...we'll see but that site would make easy to find some pins to that I'm willing to trade. Most of the ones I have I don't want to get rid of because they feature my favorite mouse..MICKEY!

I thought about doing that too on our last trip. DS was 18 mo. at the time and I didn't think he would be into it.....I was SOOOO WRONG! He loved getting the characters to sign his book. I have this picture of piglet standing hext to DS and he has his pen and book in hand....the look on DS face is like...NO WAY...They are real!!! His mouth is in a giant "WHOA" shape and his eyes are huge! My favorite pic of him....ever!

After the characters would sign his book he would "add" to it with his own autograph. I think it's a nice memory of his age.

One night at dinner at Chef Mickey there was this sweet older gentleman CM greater/table seater. DS handed him his Autograph book and implied that he would like this CM's signature...the CM looked really happy to have been asked and signed his name with a little note that DS was a good boy and he hoped we had lots of fun in WDW. DS was so pleased that he had all the nearby CM's sign his book that night.

That is what I love about WDW...you know you are going to have a magical time....and sometimes you find magic when you least expect it.:smickey:

So in response to your post, I would get them each their own Autograph Book. Mine still like to look at them together and talk about who signed each page.

:rotfl: That is hilarious...I'm pretty sure my hubby would have never done anything like that LOL, but the power of a little girl's smile can even break the "manliest" of men LOL!

Good Morning Snowbirds!!:goodvibes

Happy Tuesday!!! Can you believe we are almost to November? WOW! Old Time is aflyin'!!!

Well, I had some of the sinus stuff yesterday-it's been off and on for a while now,but it really kinda got worse yesterday-so I took a Sudafed and went to bed and am happy to say I feel much better today!!! Well, we were going to my moms in Tyler Friday for Halloween, but Mike said that he wants to go on Thursday:scared1: Does the man know how that is gonna throw my school schedule? Apparently not:sad2: Well, we'll have to see about that. I am sure I can get it all together by then though!!

Ya'll are going so fast I can NOT keep up!! I am definitely gonna have to kiss my top 10 position goodbye!!! I have to get things stirring around here---so ya'll have a good one!! I'll check in when I can!!!!!

QOTD: What is your favourite thing to do on your LAST night in Disney? (I know that we don't really want our vacations to end but it is a good question!)

We don't have anything that we do "every time" on our last day/night. We usually spend that day in a park and we try to plan our park days based on EMH so we'll stay a little later than we are supposed to. Then head back to the room to pack:sad1: .

Don't you just hate how you want time to go so fast before you get there and then the trip is finally here and time seems to go faster and then before ya know, you're back to freezing your butt off.:sad2:

XXXX
Well I'm off to work today. Have a great day everyone.:goodvibes

QOTD: What is your favourite thing to do on your LAST night in Disney? (I know that we don't really want our vacations to end but it is a good question!)

I like to go out to a nice meal on our last night. This year we are doing Narcoossee's, watching Wishes and then going back to the resort for the Electrical Water Pageant.

What... big hair is out..... when did that happen:confused3

I still have big hair!:lmao:

Hi everyone! Dr. Google helped me find a little more information on my surgeon's decision, so I understand it better... but I don't understand her attitude. My last surgeon was a total geek but he spent a LOT of time with me, and I was less annoyed once I figured him out (it was for my knee, that time). He was also super-responsive... when he said email him, he meant it! I never waited more than 24 hours during the week for a reply, and he discussed with me my options and what each meant.

Maybe he spoiled me!

I have a training this morning - I'm going to be away from the computer until lunchtime. I can wave my top 10 posting goodbye, then!! :rotfl:

We do have a chance of the s-word falling from the sky today - egads! Good thing I'm wearing my winter coat!!

I also consult Dr. Google quite frequently. With all that DH has been through I am on there alot. He seriously would not have gone to the ER if it weren't for Dr. Google once. I love the internet.:cloud9:

Hi Everyone, after my daily ritual of checking in, I discovered this thread and discovered we are not on it:laughing:. I was surprised since I missed it or overlooked it. Oh yeah, I know, the title "snowbirds" threw me, since that typically refers to retired people, and well, I am not retired yet, but close:lmao: ,

Anyhow, our trip dates: Jan. 22-27, consisting of 1 Adult, 1 tween and 1 teen and the plan is to stay at the new club rooms at CSR:banana:
Our ADRS:
1/22 Teppan Edo 8:30 (late arrival)
1/23 Crystal Palace 6:45 pm
1/24 Coral Reef 1:00
1/25 Boma 5:50
1/26 Mama Melrose @4:35 missed the fantasmic package by 5 min:confused:
1/27 Kona Cafe @1:45

We (ok I) am super excited about the trip, and think we have a great itinerary planned. A bit nervous about the economy, but let's think positive. Thanks for the "soap box" all you retired folks out there :rotfl2: !

Welcome Aboard! We have a blast here!:wizard:

:rotfl2: I would have loved to be a fly on the wall that day!:rotfl2:

Well said- I'll get two!!!! I don't want to risk not having a precious memory like the one you have. Thanks for sharing! She'll be 23 months when we go and is already my son's shadow so she will probably want to be just like him and have her own book to hand to the characters.

Woo Hoo almost November- One month closer!!!!! Feel better soon! I gotta run too- laundry isn't going to wash itself you know! :laundy:

I can't keep up with you all!:rotfl2:

Hope all is well! I'm just getting a few minutes online before heading off to violin practice and then we have an evening meeting with our coworkers. Blech. I hate late meetings. I'm not my best and it's hard to concentrate. Who am I kidding? It's hard for me to concentrate anytime! I think I have adult onset ADD. :lmao:

So, what's the QOTD? I haven't seen any. And I think I only missed reading 2 pages!

Guess I'll try to check back later!
~~Carrie

Shelly - I have a change to make  We changed our resort to CBR! I think you conviced me with all the talk about how great it is! Hope you are right!

WOW that is great news!! :cool1: I hope you love it as much as we do! :goodvibes

Where were you staying? I forget. I guess I will see that when I go back and get you changed on the list!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Shelly thank you for all your restaurant menus. I had already made the decision to eat now at Cooke's and I showed DH the menu. He is very excited. He still wants to try Earl of Sandwich as he thinks the name is cool. We will OOP that one. Could I ask for a CS menu at Epcot? That is where we will be spending most of our time other than MK.

Thanks Remmy

You're welcome! :goodvibes I think we have decided to eat at Cooke's too. Go ahead and try EOS too. I truly think we must have hit it on a bad night because lots of people really like it. Plus, like someone else said - it is very cheap, for Disney anyway!

I will look for a CS Epcot menu for today. And someone wanted me to re-post Chef Mickey's, so I'll do that one too!

a little OT but I just got back from gtting my mail, yeah its a little late in the evening and I saw the white stuff...its goin to be a long winter here in ohio

Well that's just great  ! I think you are about 1 1/2 - 2 hours west of me. Guess I know what's coming my way. :cold: :sad2:

... also over by the Living of the Land ride they made cookies. they got to wear chef hats... it was cute..... maybe our fearless leader Shelly might know more about that... it has been a while since mine were that young....

I have seen this. But I recently read somewhere that they no longer do it. Bummer.

So, here's my question for your experts. My boys keep talking about riding race cars. But I'm not thrilled with what I read about the race cars in Tomorrowland. Read they are kind of anticlimactic and boring for most.

Will Test Track make my boys happy and satisfy their desire to ride a race car? Or should I suck it up and take them to the other cars?:confused3

Oh-oh, Shelley I have a change to make to my ADRs! Sorry!

On January 19, we're now eating at Boma for breakfast instead of 1900 Park Fare.

If it's bad, I'm blaming Trixie. :goodvibes
