I would love to start packing (summery stuff since it's 25 degrees here!), but have nowhere to leave suitcases out that wouldn't drive us nuts. I do have my box of stuff, and I need to add to it. :)

I love planning, but I'm a big time procrastinator when it comes to packing. I will probably start packing like a week or two before our trip. I have no where to hide suitcases!!!

Um...I don't start packing until the day before!:lmao: I don't own enough clothes to start packing things a few weeks ahead of time. I don't have a "summer" wardrobe and "winter" wardrobe. I just have a closet with clothes in it that I can wear year round:rotfl: . So it's the day before that I pack, and that day I usually wear the ugliest and oldest clothes I have so that all my "good stuff" can be washed and packed!

Um...I don't start packing until the day before!:lmao:

:scared1: The day before!!!:scared1:

I am worried I am not going to have enough time to pack since I can't really start until we tell the boys on Christmas, that only leaves me 26 days to pack!!! I usually need 2-3 months! :rotfl:

Packing! Man, I can't even conceive of it this far in advance. For our cruise in June, I did start a box of "things we don't generally needs but will need for this trip." Like bug spray (It was Alaska!), rain ponchos... but even then, I didn't start until about 2 weeks before we left.

I might start over Christmas break this year, however, since we have the week off. My mom really really wants to come visit but she's also flying to Disney to see us then. I'd kind of like the chance to kick back and relax over my break. She's a total do-er and she gets really mad at me if I'm not up early, driving her everywhere, and shopping all the time. I guess we'll see!

My surgery is this Friday and, really, I'm getting pretty excited for it. I'm a little disappointed that I won't know for absolute sure until Thursday afternoon when it is. But since it's currently the afternoon, I'm still debating the merits of going to my cross-stitch store for their sale!!

I hope your surgery goes okay on Friday!!! I will be keeping you in prayer!

Well the DMil issue has been settled. At least as far as vacation goes LOL

She has decided that "she wont ride the rides so don't buy her a park ticket that has rides on it & she doesnt want to be away from the cats more that 3 days." HONESTLY HER WORDS!! I explained to her that it takes 22 hurs each way to drive there. You pay the same price to get in whether you ride or not & that she had said she was paying her own way when we talked about it last year! Its not that I am begrudging her going but to be brutely honest she could pay for our whole trip with the cash she keeps on hand for spending money! She can more than afford to pay for herself. The absolute clencher for me was that she would rather be home with her *%#! cats than spending quailty time with her ONLY grandkids!!! ugg sorry about the vent

Oh, that's awful! I feel bad that you have to suffer with that. My MIL doesn't do a lot of rides, but she loves to be in the park. And she just wants to be with the kids. Yes I know how lucky I am. :)
So is she even going at all then? If not, well at least then you know and don't have to worry about planning around her. Good luck!

Sorry about you MIL situation. I have a similar one. My In-Laws are retired and could care less about spending any time with their grandchildren. Very frustrating.

We're here for you.

Wow!! I'm sorry you have to deal with all of this Kayte!! I'm sure once the trip comes around she will regret the fact that she wasn't able to have this great opportunity with her grandchildren!!

My MIL is the same - she just loves spending time with the grandkids. She had such a ball at Disney last year, even though she doesn't ride too many ride. My mom on the other hand...... That's so horrible that I think that about my mom! I honestly believe there are some people who just don't have the grandma gene!! :lmao:

I'm nervous about the Grandma overload that is going to occur in our house. Phillip and I are both only children which mean the grandparents are only getting grandbabies through us and lately I have the feeling the sharks have begun to circle from both sides...even my dad my one hold-out is being swayed LOL!!!

:lmao:

It's so funny....both my husband and I come from large familes (6+ children on each side), so grandkids are aplenty!! But DH's mom - just loves and dotes on them all to pieces!!!

HaHa!

My mother wants grandchildren really bad. She has "adopted" my best friends daughter ( and the one on the way :goodvibes ) as her own until she gets some. So I get a lot of, "when I was your age, I was married and had one with another on the way". Yes well, congratulations to you, but that's not me!:rotfl: It gets frustrating after a while.

If you need to drop the number of people in the end I wouldn't even bother to call. They may want to change your time around. This happened to us in May with LeCellier. I had originally booked it for all 4 of us. Later we decided on taking the kids to the kids club. I called dining to see if I needed to change it from 4 to 2 and the CM said that he suggested just leaving it and telling them when you arrive. So that's what we did and we were seated right away!

Yes you can change it to smaller number a lot easier than add people. I went thru this a few trips ago when we didn't know if DH would be able to go or not since his boss was being jerk.
That's what I was hoping. If I show up with more people it could be a problem but if I show up with less than we may be seated earlier. I don't think I'll wait until the last minute to let them know it's less though. I made the reservations for 18!!!! I have 10 definite's between my family, my sister's family and my parents. It's my dh's family that doesn't know if they are going or not. If they come it's 8 more people. I don't want them moving tables to accommodate 18 and me only show up with 10.

Becca I hope everything works out with your registry...and quickly!

I'm glad to hear there are some other packing already. No way could I wait til the last minute! To each his own though! I think we all wear our ugliest and oldest the day before:rotfl: - thanks for the giggle!

I'm off to get something productive done during nap time! :laundy: :sad2:
