Re: Packing. Once I can find the bed in the guest room (it's piled with JUNK right now!), I'll start laying out some of the "summer" clothes we'll be taking. DS's is usually the easiest to pack - DH, the hardest! :rotfl:

I do have a "summer" and "winter" wardrobe....kinda. I have a drawer and a half filled with nothing but tank tops. I wear a tank top EVERY single day of the year. I have nicer ones that I wear in the summer time and older ones that I wear underneath sweaters or layer under other shirts. I can't pack anything yet. I could start throwing some stuff in an empty tote, but I really don't want to get caught!!! My DD takes Irish dance and needs to wear shorts to class, so I can't pack up any of those. I don't mind packing last minute. I make a big list and then cross things off as I pack them. When I pack all at once, I know I'm not forgeting anything!

Could you tell me how you shipped the items to yourself at the resort? I am very intrested in shipping some snack food for the kids. We drove last Aug. so it was nice to take food items and water and ICE TEA!!!!!!!!!

I pack food items, small toiletries, first aids, tiny laundry detergents, anything like that in 2 medium sized boxes and ship it via FED EX. Call your resort and get the exact address---tell them you are shipping your family a care package, or whatever. Attention:your name. I do this usually on the Mon or Tues before our Saturday flight. The resort holds it in the luggage room and ask for it upon check-in. This usually has stuff in it that's all consumable, so you shouldn't have to repack and bring any home.!!

:cheer2: Hi everyone!:cheer2:

It's another Monday! 7 more Monday's until January (not counting today).:yay:

I went to Burger King this morning to get Cheesey Tots and pulled up to the window to pay, only to find that DH had taken the Debit Card out of my wallet this morning. Don't you love that! :rolleyes1

Love the Monday count! I have 10 until my trip!! And yes, I hate when Mike has my charge card!!!

Well the DMil issue has been settled. At least as far as vacation goes LOL

She has decided that "she wont ride the rides so don't buy her a park ticket that has rides on it & she doesnt want to be away from the cats more that 3 days." HONESTLY HER WORDS!! I explained to her that it takes 22 hurs each way to drive there. You pay the same price to get in whether you ride or not & that she had said she was paying her own way when we talked about it last year! Its not that I am begrudging her going but to be brutely honest she could pay for our whole trip with the cash she keeps on hand for spending money! She can more than afford to pay for herself. The absolute clencher for me was that she would rather be home with her *%#! cats than spending quailty time with her ONLY grandkids!!! ugg sorry about the vent

Sorry you are dealing with In Law Disease!! Seems to me in-laws are either great-or the pits!! I just hope my daughters-in-law and son-in-law in the future are looooooving me!!!! I plan on loving them so maybe it'll work out!! Ha!!

I'm nervous about the Grandma overload that is going to occur in our house. Phillip and I are both only children which mean the grandparents are only getting grandbabies through us and lately I have the feeling the sharks have begun to circle from both sides...even my dad my one hold-out is being swayed LOL!!!

Butter up your dad with some baked goods!!Tell him he has GOT to keep quiet!!!

And I second the baked goods idea....bribery works wonders!! :lmao:

Happy Monday Snowbirds!!!:goodvibes

Hope your weekends were awesome! sorry for those who are under the weather or have sick kiddos. Poor babies!!

Well, I am at 75 days!!!!:yay: :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1: I am sooooo excited!!! It seemed to take forever to get to 99 and now it's going a little quicker!!!

Okay, we are almost through with our school work today, just some reading left!! I have got to do lunch break/grocery shop now!!! I am planning to make homemade chicken noodle soup---gotta soar throat and sinus coming on--trying to put a stop to it. I am sure we'll get distracted at Wal-Mart on the toy aisle! I swear--a 20 minute shopping trip can just go, and go, and go.....
Well, they should be prepared for a short trip today!!

OH!! I am going to pay off our trip today too!!!!!:cool1:

Thanks For the support guys!!

NO she is not going with us. I will not cut our trip short for her & Chuck says he IS NOT paying for her. SHe not only doesn't have the gramma gene she doesnt even have the mom gene. It hard for me because my mother is with my kids everyday & if she doesn't see them she calls them. Mil hasn't even talked to them since Sept. she only lives 20 minutes away!! She hasn't seen a single DD basketball game this year, didn't call about report cards or trick or treat. My other sister who lives in DC even called them about that stuff plus her 2 grown kids!! My niece that lives in Baton Rouge textmessages my DD at least 2x's a week to chat. HOnestly I swear I'm done venting!! BUt between this situation & my hysterectomy on fri I am about ready to jump outta my skin.

Aww, don't get yourself upset. You've got your OWN family and she can be in it or not - her choice. Don't change your life for her. I can relate.

I think my mother is the same - not a mom or grandmom gene. This weekend she told me she is NOT buying my DDs much-coveted American Girl Molly for Christmas because DD misbehaved at her house. If I hadn't asked, I wouldn't have known. What kind of cold-hearted grandma disappoints her grandaughter, who's only 7 years old for gosh sakes, on Christmas Day??? How vindictive!!! So, maybe consider yourself lucky!!!

Don't feel bad about venting. I can totally relate. My DS9 has played soccer since he was 5. My in-laws are like I said retired, and still can't make it to one stinking game - ever!! :sad2: What am I supposed to tell him when he asks why??? :confused3 Here my parents are much younger and still working and they manage to make it to at least 1-2 games every season.

OUCH that's mean what on earth could a 7yr old do that was that bad to not get a Christmas present? If MIL ever said that to me I'd tell guess what don't bother coming over then. WOW you have my sympathies:worship:

I know that is so hard to explain to them. MIL doesn't work & is only 59 no excuses my mom 73 & not so good health goes to all of them even when we have double games at the same times. My sister & her husband both work for other companies & own their own business & they still make it to 90% of the soccer & softball games etc. I look at it this way I KNOW HOW NOT TO ACT w MY KIDS/ Grandkids (eww i dont even want to think of that).

My MIL quit having Christmas! I know. . . . Yeah, DH's family only ever got together 2 times a year (Thanksgiving and Christmas) and she decided a few years ago that it was "too much". :rotfl: So now we go out to dinner for Thanksgiving, only because DH and I make all the arrangements and call everybody. And we do nothing with them for Christmas. :confused3 Can you imagine??? :sad2:

She will give me money to shop for the kids from her. She has never picked out a gift for them by herself. How could she, she doesn't even know them. . . The kids always ask me how grandma and grandpa knew what they liked. . . :rolleyes1 Someday they'll figure that one out.

I'm so sorry to hear about this!

Your mom sounds a lot like mine. My DD is her only grandchild and just LOVES being a grandmother. My parents always offer to babysit or watch our DD overnight or for a weekend getaway. I talk to my mom almost daily! My MIL moved to Florida a few years ago and we've only since her once since then. She calls on holidays and such, but that's about it.

I love planning, but I'm a big time procrastinator when it comes to packing. I will probably start packing like a week or two before our trip. I have no where to hide suitcases!!!

See, now, to me, this does not classify as procrastinator! I'm a "wait until the night before a big trip to pack" kind of procrastinator!:lmao:

You guys are totally freaking me out. I leave for the US for 7 months in just 35 days...and I haven't even begun to pack! Which means I haven't given even one iota of thought to what to pack for Disney!

Should I be skeert?
