My goodness...I don't log on for a few hours and I have 7 pages to get through! :goodvibes Really, at this rate we'll be to the next thread by Friday! :thumbsup2

Now....to catch up!!

QOTD - I would have to say Little Mermaid, Lion King or Aladdin. We've got a couple of the Disney Collection CDs that have a great selection from all the movies.

It's a beautiful fall day today. The sun is shining and high's in the 50/60s. The leaves are changing colors.

Regarding excitiment about this trip. I think alot of my "lack of excitment" has to do with the economy. My DH is in the banking industry....it's a scary time. :scared: Plus, this year we're doing the CS dining plan, so no ADRs to plan our park days around. We'll monitor the EMH days and probably avoid some of those parks, but no real "intense" planning needed on our part. And, since we were there less than a year ago.... I'm sure once the holidays pass the excitment will build!:yay:

Speaking of the holidays....one of the local car dealerships does a really nice thanksgiving commercial every year....it's playing already!!! Really, can't we get through one holiday first! And all the Christmas stuff that's in the stores!! Although, I do have more than half of my Christmas shopping done already!!

Okay...I think I'm caught up. :cool1:

Good Day to all my snowbird friends! I feel like I have been away for a lifetime! It hasn't even been 24 hrs! I don't think I have the time or the energy to go back and read 10 whole pages ??? My goodness we have have chatty this morning! :thumbsup2

Can somebody catch me up? Did I miss a QOTD? What was the menu of the day Shelly? I have a huge pile of :laundy: to get through and a sink full of dishes to wash so I seriously do not have time to go back and read all 10 pages!

I saw something this morning that made me feel very angry  I took my little DC girl to the store to pick up a few things and on our way out, as I was buckling her into her seat, I noticed that a small child had been left alone in the car parked a couple spaces over! :scared1: It appeared to be a girl and she was probably about 3-4 yrs old. She was sound asleep, covered with a blanket and the car windows were open a bit. I looked around to see if there was a parent in sight. I didn't see anyone. I didn't know what to do! She appeared to be fine but I felt so bad for her too! My little DC girl was starting to get very fussy and I had to leave otherwise I would have taken down the liscence # of the vehicle and gone inside the store. I prayed and asked God to protect the little girl and hoped furiously that whoever was responsible for her would return quickly! This has happened to both my DH and myself befor so we talked about it and said that we should contact the police staion and find out what the right thing is to do in that situation! Now I can't stop thinking about that little one and hoping she is alright!

The menu of the day was 50's Prime Time Cafe. . . I've never been there. . . Not going there this trip. . . But I think a lot of Snowbirds are going so I posted it. . . I figure with something like 90 days left until my trip I should be able to cover all the WDW restaurants - TS and CS!

That is terrible that parents would leave there child in the car. It's against the law here. Hopefully she is alright.

Okay brief recap...

Shelly posted the menu for 50's PTC I'm so having the fried (or is it friend LOL) chicken!!

The QOTD (From Soleil) is what Disney Movie Soundtrack do you just simply adore?

As far as whoever left their child in the car that is so heartbreaking...you mentioned the other day how cold it was out there not to mention she was sleeping which means she can be more susceptible to the chill. That makes me so angry...OY!

:scared1: OMG How scary!!!! That is awful! I hope she was ok. How can anyone think that is a wise idea? I use to work at Barnes & Noble and was always amazed at people who would leave their kids in the store and then shop at other stores. I'm talking toddlers!!!! People have no sense sometimes. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILD PEOPLE!!!!! Urgh.

Anyway QOTD: What's your favorite disney soundtrack?

Pinkdiamond - It is an actual WDW calendar. I got one for 2006 when I went to WDW in Oct. 2005. They sell them in the shops. The last 2 years I have gone in May and they aren't out for the next year yet. . . So I buy them on Ebay. People that live near the parks go and buy a bunch of them and then jack the price and sell them on Ebay. I think I paid $16 plus $4 for shipping. They are $12 at WDW.

Thanks! Hmm might have to look into that. I love how people who are lucky enough to live near by exploit that fact. I've even seen people selling park maps!

Okay...I think I'm caught up. :cool1:

I know how you feel. They've been playing the Radio City Christmas Spectacular commercial for weeks already! "Fill your heart with Christmas bring everyone you know" It gets stuck in your head man!

WOW.... that is terrible.... I hope the little princess is okay....

I checked the WDW website and it shows a difference of $6.00 before tax. You really do save the longer you "play".;)

Yep, I think the difference between 5 and 10 days is around $15. That helped us decide how long to go, and whether to park hop. So, other than the room charge and food every day, it wasn't much more to go for 10 days! :lmao: We are considering park hopping, but will make that decision when we get there.

I really hope that a January deal is a fantastic room discount and not package upgrades, because I don't want to have to pay for a package in full in December - it will put a crimp in my Christmas shopping. Most of our trip is being paid for by my year-end bonus, which we won't get until right around Christmas. If I suddenly have to come up with a few thousand dollars a few weeks before, then I'll be hitting the wrong bank account!!!

I highly recommend park hopping! It makes life so much easier. Especially if you are on site. This way you can change your mind if it's to crowded or it rains, or even if you want to revist something and stop in for a quick visit then off to another park. It also gives you more dinning options. You can hit Epcot for a quick snack or drink and then go over to Hollywood Studios for Fantasmic, the possibilities are endless! I would never consider bying tickets without the hopper!

I found a guy on Ebay selling the free Disney planning DVDs. I aksed him why he was selling something that you could get for free. He never answered me back...wonder why?

I'm very excited about our trip...Mom and I talk about it every morning when we walk. I share all the things I've learned from the DIS.

QOTD: Beauty and the Beast

Hi Snowbirds!

I can't believe anyone would leave their child asleep in the car. What if she woke up and there was no one there? Poor little one. I would have called the police...poor thing :(

Hope everyone has a good day. I am stuck here in Dorchester til 6pm doing a teacher inservice. I hate leaving here and it being dark, especially since it was just barely light when I left home this morning. I really hate the short days :(

I wish we had some great discount in Jan. but I am going on my friends DVC...so no code will really help me :( but I hope you guys get a great one!

Thanks Jen! :thumbsup2 I knew I could count on my snowbird peeps for the needed info! :)

QOTD - It is a big struggle to decide between Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast! I love them both! :lovestruc

Oh great, now I've got the Goodm Morning Song from Beauty in my head! Bonjour! Forgive me. I feel like I must break out in song....

There goes the baker with his tray like always, the same old bread and rolls to sell.......... aahhh, isn't this amazing, its my favourite part, because... you'll see....Here's were she meets Prince Charming, but she won't discover that its him till chapter 3!

sorry ;) I just had to get that out! :lmao:

Don't you just love Disney Music. I was in an Off-Broadway show in the spring that was all Disney music, it was sooo much fun!
I have so much stuff on my ipod it's sick! It just makes me smile :goodvibes
I love listening to all the inpark backround audio while I'm working. It makes life more enjoyable!

There are a couple of free radio stations that I can access online and so whenever I'm at home I put one of those on and just listen and I plan more for my trip or am just reading and browsing the DIS board. It is the best!!

QOTD- I love Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. Oh, I like the Lion King too! It's a toss up! I saw B&TB and TLK in Toronto and they were both amazing!

That poor little girl! How could someone leave their child in the car alone? I could never do that to my DD. That is horrible.

I'm still pretty excited about WDW right now. I'm sure it's because I can't wait to surprise my DD! I've hit some lulls in excitement, but then I just hop on the Dis and boost the excitement level back up!

Congrats to everyone that is under 3 months!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: I'll be there soon enough!

Hey did anyone else notice that the DIS clock is wayy off! Like right now it is 2:08 and my post will probably say something like 1:50! Oh well! :confused3

Yeah I've seen that too. Sometimes the clock is right (if your in eastern time anyway) and othertimes it's off by 10-20mins. Odd isn't it? I've also see like 10min delays in posts which is also odd.

That poor child. That really gets me mad when people don't parent their children. Then when the child ends up in trouble, they wonder how did that happen?

So you know yesterday - I might have been on another board -can't remember, but some were talking about taking kids out of school for WDW trips. I chimed in and said, yeah, we do it, no problems. Didn't even know the school policy. TODAY the school newsletter comes to my email in box and one of the big topics is the absence policy!!! Of course it says they don't usually excuse family vacations, but any absences over 7 days gets you in trouble. The principal can allow them to be excused. I figure I'll talk to the teachers ahead of time and let the principal know too. I don't expect to be hauled into truancy court, but I figure if I'm up front about it, maybe they'll cut me some slack.

I just got off the phone with a CM (we had to update our flight info.) and when asked about any codes or discounts coming out this weekend she kind of chuckled and said very politely, “All I can tell you is to keep checking online (insert cute little laugh here)." Take it for what it’s worth, but maybe we’ll all get some good news Sunday or Monday!;)
