Bella~ Do you spray your Uggs with anything? I don't want to ruin them--they are sooooo cute and comfortable!!

Okay Northern ladies--or whoever can help me!!! New Yorkers!!!!

My oldest son is turning 13 early dec (4th) and he is just really wanting to go to New York--he's always wanted to go. so,....I know nothing about it, except that the streets are laid out pretty grid like--so you can't get TOOOOO lost, and that Mary Poppins is on Broadway!!! What should you tell me???? Should I really pursue this? $$$ is the only thing right now, with a Disney trip in January--that of course the kids don't know about. So,... if dh thinks we can swing it---what next? We would have to fly- I am NOT driving that far. Unless he got a HUGE motorhome! anyway, is this a good 13 yo trip-give me honesty!!!! Tips, hints, insight!!!

We live Upstate and have gone to New York dozens of times. Visiting New York City is great at any age. There’s a million things to do in the City (don't forget the World of Disney Store on 5th Ave.:thumbsup2). We sure couldn't live there (we're country folk;)) but it is an amazing place to visit. There are a ton of websites out there with details on stuff to do. Some of the “City Folk”:) can give you better details, but fly up and go for it. The City is an incredible place.

A sweet elderly man just came into my church with a private detective. He is on a search for his pre-war sweetheart. He lost touch with her after the war and has been searching for her for years.:lovestruc I nearly cried!

On another note, my dad works for Volvo and he says they (as in the luxury car industry) are really struggling. He is very worried about his job. :(

That is so sweet...I really hope he finds her even just to meet up again!!

Your dad and family will be in my prayers! I know right now is a hard time for a lot of people!!

It's funny that you ask, Shawna.;)

I am on a mission this weekend to find something to spray my boots with. I wore my black Steve Madden's today and they are already SO dirty! They will never hold up in time for Honeymoon #2 at this rate.

I'll let you know what I find!

Thanks for the hugs and prayers for my Dad, everyone! It means alot! He's really into the stock market, as well and this week has been very rough on me.

Can I give my advice?? I worked selling shoes for 7 years and the best thing to spray on those boots is an all protecter (any kind they are all the same) Make sure you turn your boots upside down so it gets into the stiching :)

I know there has been a lot of talk about the photo pass share. I am not so comfortable with it but I was thinking that if one person wanted to split with me then I would do that. So it would be $50.00 plus shipping. My dates are Jan 20-27 so if you think you would want to split, just PM me. :goodvibes

My goodness! Chatty chatty today! I had to catch up quite a bit. Well, just stopping on real quick! I had a fun day so far with my sisters and mom. My pedicure looks FAB!!! Now, I have to go get ready for the rehersal and rehersal dinner! Have a great weekend!

No offense- but "Bureaucracy in Modern Society" sounds like a yawn! :faint:
It's probably a good thing you are able to bring the fun of Disney into it to liven it up!:mickeyjum

:rotfl:

Good evening everyone. Well, I won't be on here too much over the next few days. I will try to squeeze out some DIS time tomorrow though. Let's see...what's on the agenda for tomorrow.

Breakfast in the morning with my two sisters and my mom, pumpkin spice pedicure (doesn't that just sound wonderful?) with them in the afternoon, wedding rehersal at 6pm, rehersal dinner at 7pm. Since the tuxedo place sent the wrong shoes for my DH, we have to go back to pick up the right shoes tomorrow afternoon.I might try to fit in one more tanning session (my darn tank top tan just won't go away!) in the afternoon as well.

Then, Saturday is my big sister's big day!I'm so excited!!! On Sunday, my parents are having a brunch for our out of town guests, wedding party, etc. We're also celebrating my DD's birthday that day with our extended family since they'll all be in town. Wow. What a weekend! So, I'll try to peek on in here tomorrow! Have a great weekend everyone!

Have a wonderful time.... couldn't have asked for a better weekend in NY for October.... wow..... make sure to post some photos after....

If you end up needing help, let me know. DH just finished jury duty, it stunk! Luckily he got thrown out for the big murder case.

My DSIL kissed the real Stanley Cup!

I'm over on your side of the state, in Frankenmuth. Spent most of the day and way too much money at Bronners.

Trixie.... I love Frankenmuth... the best bread knife I ever bought I got there... for like $2.... and it still works great... long with a white handle... from Zendhers I think....

Hi everybody! I have a question for you. I keep going back and forth...I can't decide on Garden Grill or Coral Reef for dinner one night. I really like the idea of the personalized menu but my Mom, me and my boys don't like fish. My husband and Dad do?? I'm just not sure where to eat :headache:

Which do you think would be better for our group??

We love Coral Reef.... one of the best steaks I ever had was from there.....

Since we are all talking about food...I'm sure this has already been asked but I'm curious...what is everyone's favorite Disney restaurant!! I have only eaten at Mama Melrose (we were more eat at the hotel and in the room people our last couple of trips)!! This is the first time I have more than one ARD ( WOOT!!) so I'm just curious to know..where is the one place you have to eat at when you go to Disney??? (I apologize if you have already answered this before..I'm just too curious and I love dining reviews LOL!!)

So many places...........so little time.................

Sorry to interrupt the food talk, holiday talk, and the various celebrations talk, but I have a celebration of my own...

DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE FOR :dancer: :yay:

(and look who wanted to join the party again... )

Wow, I started at a year, and now it is only 99 days. Only 90 days to go until I can start packing... after unpacking for the Christmas trip to grandma's house! :santa: )

Wow.... and the parties just keep on coming..........  :

Thanks for the hugs and prayers for my Dad, everyone! It means alot! He's really into the stock market, as well and this week has been very rough on me.

 for you:hug: for your dad

Have a wonderful weekend everyone... we are heading off to our camp for the a couple of nights.... no internet service in the mountains... see ya all on Sunday...........

I did see some Ugg spray at Dillards--wasn't sure if it was worth the $$$ !

Can I give my advice?? I worked selling shoes for 7 years and the best thing to spray on those boots is an all protecter (any kind they are all the same) Make sure you turn your boots upside down so it gets into the stiching :)
Like what kind? I didn't know about the Ugg brand.

Okay--just went to see BH Chihuahua---a must see for you and the kids!! Guess what my kids want for Christmas? :dog: a tiny but mighty....chihuahua!! They really are cute-just not to sure about the yapping!!! Really- go see it--it's great!

I love her dog collar-Bella you gotta get one for Lulu!! and her Jackie O outfit!!

I like to look at them ahead of time anyway since my kids are such picky eaters. That way it doesn't take us forever to order! :rotfl:

We love Mama Melrose! The steaks and veggies were so good! I still crave the veggies I had from my meal in 2005!

One word of advice.....The pasta sauce on the kids meals was spicy. Now I'm from Texas and LOVE spicy food:thumbsup2 ! I LOVE jalapenos on just about everything, so for me to say that yes it had a bit of spice to it is saying something! My DD ordered spaghetti and complained that the sauce was spicy....(She does not have my love for food with heat:sad2: ) But after I tried it I had to agree that for a child's meal it was too spicy. Now I don't know if it was just an off night in the kitchen....could have been? DD then changed her order to buttered pasta (and half of her brothers pizza).

I'd ask for a spoonful of the sauce to sample before you order it for the kids.

I think I had the filet with some type of blue cheese butter on the asparagus and steak...YUM!!!!!! next time I'm going to order an extra side of veggies!!!

Oh, and the raspberry sauce on the cheese cake:upsidedow is so good you'll want to lick the plate....not that I would ever do anything like that though...:rolleyes1

Jan 8th is the day our MAGIC starts!

Wow, what a fun night I've had! Rehersal went very well and so did the dinner. My mom put together a little slide show of my sister and fiance. I just love looking at old pictures! We have a very busy weekend, so I probably won't be around until Sunday evening or Monday. I will definately post some pics of the wedding next week! Later!

Thanks!!!

Like what kind? I didn't know about the Ugg brand.

Really there is about a million kinds, I worked at Payless and they had a no name brand but yoou could go into any shoe store or Wal-Mart and they all have diffent kinds. As long as it say's for leather & Suede. In Canada I wouldn't pay more than $7.99 a can but in the US maybe $5.99 a can?? Really there is no diffrence, the trick is when any water (snow, ect) starts to absorb into the fabric it's time to re-spray. About every 7 weeks. We actually did a test on a pair of boots one year (I know shoe geeks) and sprayed both boots the first day and then the left boot evey 7 weeks and you would be amazed about much better the boot that was sprayed every 7 weeks looked. It was amazing !!

Anyways, I just let all the snowbirds know what a shoe geek is. :)

Hi Snowbirds!

Just checking in to say hi!

Having a nice lazy Saturday afternoon here... But tomorrow, I'm off to see Wicked! (For the 2nd time.) I'm so excited!!

:yay:

But bad news... Our Australian dollar is so bad at the moment!! At the moment it's only worth 60 US cents, and that means lots more saving for our big USA trip in January!! :guilty:

Lucky we've already paid for all of our Disney trip, when our dollar was pretty good. Another reason why the dining plan works well for us - we've already paid for everything! Phew! :thumbsup2

This is getting much too complicated. Money, shmoney. :confused3

Hi, there, Snowbirds! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend! Got the kids off to school this morning, played Polly Pockets with GK, downloaded some digital scrapbooking kits, read over my Sunday school lesson for tonight, translating it into Arabic in my head (our materials are written in English), and here I am!

I've got laundry to fold:laundy: and since we didn't have cold water yesterday evening for some reason, I had to hold off washing until today. Actually, a load of stinky floor cleaning towels was half washed when the cold water cut out. I was half afraid to open that washing machine! :scared: All is well, The pipes needed to have the air let out of them this morning, but it seems our cold water is back.

So, more laundry. More Sunday school prep (we have church Saturday nights), and, what I'm most excited about? DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING! I got Photoshop Elements 6.0 yesterday in the mail (Mom shipped it to me from the US) and a Bamboo FUN tablet, so I'm ready to learn how to digital scrapbook. ANyone here do it? I managed to create my first layout without having ever used or seen Photoshop Elements before! This was my first attempt:

Simple and I only used freebies. I haven't purchased any digital stuff yet. I gotta get the hang of this first.

Anyway...I'm here!:surfweb: I missed out on all the parties yesterday. I had my nose in the Photoshop Elements tutorials!:lmao:

Looks like we had a lot of parties going on!
