I know, it's a bummer. My favorite attraction at MK will be closed when we are there - Mickey's Philharmagic.

Well the PTO fundraising count went much smoother and faster today!! I was even home before 11:00! Sure beats the 6 hours I was there yesterday.

Morning Snowbirds!
Urgh, I have been so out of the loop lately, I hope everyone is doing great!
I see lot's of double digit dances going on!!!!
Everyone's grant letters had to go out this week, meaning this was the busiest 3 days of my work year. Hopefully things will become more managable, and I'll be able to join in on the snowbird fun more often!!! Ofcourse in two weeks their budgets are due back to me so that should be an exciting day of students whinning to me about why theirs isn't done on time.....sometimes I hate working in a school system.
Anyway forgive me for not going back to quote, but Peaches I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your ex-landlady! It must be difficult with the many cultural differences you have to face, but I think your work is so wonderful, and it must be so rewarding most of the time for you!
FYI, I've had really bad luck requesting rooms anywhere, unless you pay for a specific location (ie: the prefered locations at POP, which IMHO are well worth the extra cash in terms of convienience!) Ofcourse, that totally depends on the time of year, the resort, and how many requests come in. So there is no harm in trying. I will say that the more general the request, the better your odds. So you might want to say "A connecting room in the 70's" and maybe a building or two you would like. Good luck!

They got to your question already, but yup it closes the day both you and I get there. I'm slightly disappointed, because I have never ridden Splash Mountain
Also, just a little extra info... the Osbourne Dancing Lights close on January 4th, so I'm considering running over to Disney Studios/MGM to experience them before they take them down. They're pretty amazing. If you haven't seen them before I would recommend considering doing MGM the night you get there just for the lights. Unfortunately, MGM doesn't have extended hours that night... I might be making a change to my dinner plans that night so I can get over there.
Peaches... I'm sorry for your trouble. The thing I hated most about living overseas was the misunderstandings... we had our landlord accuse us, and yell at us for ruining one of his pots, when it was only dirty, not ruined.
I hope everything works out.

First, NO hats/mittens for me. The only "cold" weather article of clothing that gets packed is a sweatshirt. I don't even give a second thought to packing more.
Secondly, yes you can see Spectro and Wishes the same night, rather easily. Spectro follows the parade route down Mainstreet. If you are on Main Street you can see Wishes.
Spectro (last time I saw it) Only takes about 10-15 minutes. Depending on where you are sitting however, it may or may not start on time. The closer to the beginning you are, the closer you are to the actual start time.
For Spectro we usually sit by the shooting arcade. It takes about 5-10 minutes after the parade actually starts to reach that point. (those floats move about 2 mph...or so it seems).
Thanks for the tips! I didn't know Spectro was that short of a parade.

When we (also from Michigan) flew out in January 2005, it was the middle of one of those really cold snow storms. We didn't dare go without coats in case the worst happened (accident!). We did, however, leave them in the car once we got to the airport.

It's super-duper easy. At 90 days, they assign you a seat. Log in to your NWA.com account and click "select seats" on each flight. You can go in and change things, if you want. I monitor ours, if I don't like what we have, because things do change a bit. And at the 24 hour mark, all systems are GO and I tend to get some nice seats!!
Now, I'm still irked that I have to pay $15 to check my stupid suitcase...!

Hey, me too! I just checked in on the TGM website, and he says I have 100 more days to go as of today. Wow! I want to make a countdown calendar for my dd8, who wants to "talk about Disney" every night before bed.
My girls do this to me too! It's so hard to say no when they look at you with their big beautiful eyes and say "Mommy, tell me about Disney World, PLEASE?" They get me every time!

Laura~ I am sorryHaving a husband who's been a pastor, and going through some pastoral changes in our church now, I can say that it can go from bad to worse pretty quickly!!! Don't feel old---just remember to keep giving it to the Lord. And when you do--DON'T take it back. Sometimes it daily, sometimes minute-to-minute. Bad news & gossip can travel so fast, sometimes it's hard to put out fires and keep up with it all!!! We'll be praying for you-keep us posted.

Thanks for that! Good to know that it is so easy! Yes I am a bit peeved at myself about the bag price too! When I originally booked our flights back in April, I had a choice of Airtran, Sun Country or NWA!
Well Sun Country does not Participate in the RAC so they were out pretty quick, and then it looked like NWA might become unstable due to the merger with Delta, so we chose to go with Airtran!
Well, by about the middle of August, I got fed up with all the changing of flights and decided that I wanted to get out!
I cancelled our flights with Airtran and went over to NWA! Got a good price which actually turned out to be 60 dollars cheaper than Airtran, but now with the baggage thing it is costing us 60 more! AARRGGHH!
Makes me want to smash something!

My girls do this to me too! It's so hard to say no when they look at you with their big beautiful eyes and say "Mommy, tell me about Disney World, PLEASE?" They get me every time!
I swear I am never going to make our trip a surprise again!!! I am missing all the talking about it and planning with the kids!
Last night we were watching our Disney ride DVD (walks you through the rides - got in online - pretty cool). We watch it from time to time. All the sudden DS9 gets up and leaves and I ask him where he's going and he says "this makes me too sad - I want to go to Disney sooner than 2 years!" It was all I could do to not tell his sad little face - Don't be sad - we'll be there in 3 months!!! But I didn't. As much as I wanted to!!
Oh please, Christmas come fast!!!
