I just bought some pins online for our son (much cheaper!!). He wasn't too interested in pin trading at the beginning of our last trip, but by the time the week was up, he was finally getting into that trading thing. He knew what he wanted (which included getting rid of the "girly" pins he had:rotfl: )!

I did that too! Found a great seller and got tons of the kids (and my) favorites. DD7 is into Tinkerbell, DD5 wants Princesses (in glitter dresses!) and I love Mickey.

Has anyone done the kid's passports in Epcot? A friend of mine did and her kids thought it was pretty cool. I guess you buy the kit for about $12 and get stickers and go around to the countries and they stamp it and write in it. They went in December and CMs wrote in their native language their holiday greetings! how cute is that? Also goes to the educational aspects!! ;)

I love it too! :goodvibes It's just right for the parks, very small! Did you get it at Target?

Yeah, I sure did! I thought it was funny that it was listed as a camera bag. I said "No way! Perfect for me for every day" (though it can hold a small camera, if I have a small wallet!).

My shopping list...
Sweatshirts or shirts for all of us
Mickey Head Cookie Cutter
Potato Head pieces- Since we're driving I'm packing the potatoes (we already have 4). I heard it's stuff a box, is that right? You don't have to buy the potato body do you?

No, you don't have to get the Potato! :)

QOTD:

I want to buy lots of goodies for Belle. A Tinkerbelle outfit and another princess outfit, too. Then tons of Playhouse Disney junk.

She would be an adorable Tink!

I didn't put toys on my list because I'm sure my kids are going to go hog wild and want everything. Thank goodness I've requested all of our family give them Disney Dollars for Christmas! :rolleyes1

And I just noticed my Mickey is at Epcot now!!!! He sure spent lots of time touring Hollywood Studios! To the castle now Mickey...move it along!

We have never done this. My kids are still not very interested in the countries at Epcot, other than Mexico. Not sure why. Maybe when they get a little older. . .:confused3

I didn't know that it was a camera bag. :rotfl: I stuff all kinds of things in there for the parks - my camera, sunglasses, pens, paper, maps, KTTW card, schedules, kleenex, and other necessities! :goodvibes

Love the photos--thanks, Shelly! I'll show my boys the light saber ones and they will be so excited! :yay:

When they announced the "What will you celebrate?" promotion, I told my family about the gift card I was going to get on my birthday (we already have park tickets). DS8 (who likes everything to be fair) wanted to know if we were going to split that five ways :teacher: , or if the baby would get a smaller share since she's so little! :rotfl:

I thought you could also get the potato head parts at the store in Toontown where you wait to see the characters. I thought I remembered seeing them there...but that was nearly five years ago... :confused3 You do NOT have to buy the potato head there--if you already have one, you can fit that many more parts into your box! :thumbsup2

I'd also like to get a sweatshirt and a Christmas tree ornament! I need to start writing this stuff down. :upsidedow

Afternoon everyone!

Sadly no time to talk today, just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thursday!!!! One more day till the weekend!!! :cool1:

So 25 pages to go huh? Somehow I get the feeling we will be up to Snowbirds vol 6 by the end of January!

Definitely at least one Christmas ornament. Probably one that says 2009 on it and anything else I can con(vince) my DH into. But we have a theme tree of purple and gold. He's an MN Vikings fan (purple & gold!) so as long as it's those colors, he's cool.

Are you in MN? Me too. It's been tough to be a Vikes fan lately!! It's still better than Packers. My DH is a football fan, but can't get too excited about the Vikes. Of course he's not originally from MN. We're big Twins and Wild fans too. Okay enough of that MN Chamber of Commerce talk.

Do you have a pic of your tree? I'm sure they have Mickey head ornaments that are purple and/or gold. I bought a blue one one year. Gold is pretty popular so you'll find something that will work!

We didn't do the Passport book, but we did stop at all the Kidcot stations. It really made "touring the world" a little easier on our son. He loved coloring all the things for his mask. This year I think we're going to try the actual passport.

Other than that, I'm scrapping, stalking the code threads, and waiting. I don't do waiting so well! I read that someone talked to their AAA agent who said there is definitely a code coming out next week for January!

WOOT WOOT! :cool1: This weekend is going to be sooo long! ;)

No way do not cancel the party...I'll party your 72 if you party with me for my 84?!?!?!?!?! :cool1:

Let's all just have a party - For no reason! It's Thursday! Why not! :lmao:
:cool1: :banana: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: popcorn::

Not something to buy at WDW, but before going...does anyone have the "Guide to the Magic for Kids"? http://www.guidetothemagic.com/shopping.htm#kids
I was thinking about ordering it for the boys for Christmas, but it's not clear to me what age group it is aimed at. I'm afraid it would be a little young for them. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I ordered it for my girls! I think it looks great! It has a page or two for each part of each park, places for pictures, autographs, stickers, personal stories, etc. It is great! Very colourful! I don't think we will carry it around the parks with us but use it as part of our "winding down" time at night to record stuff about our days etc! I would say it would appropriate for any child able to read and write (even with a bit of help) and it would be fine for up to say age 12-13 even!

I would love to start a snowglobe collection in my girlie room (yes I have a girlie room my living room is being taken over by animal jaws and a bear rug LOL)

Of course you have a girlie room! With a hunter husband you NEED a girlie room! Pink and pretty and NO ANIMAL PARTS! :lmao:

I'll look when I get home for any tree pictures. We are not in MN, however. DH grew up near Sioux Falls, SD (on the MN side) and we met in Boston... and now live in Michigan. Land of the Lions-who-still-nearly-managed-to-beat-the-Vikes. Tough year for both teams!

DH is also a Twins fan but when the Northstars left town, he switched to the Red Wings (loooooooooong before we landed here!) for hockey. He doesn't care much for basketball. I'm, er, from MA so he's adopted the Red Sox for the sake of harmony with his IL's ;) and we've both adopted the Tigers.

I do have the Mickey head ornaments - one in purple, one in gold. They have bells in them. I love them, I might buy more. Belle is my favorite princess and since her ballgown is gold, you betcha, I've got one of them, too! :)

(And the side of the tree that faces out the window is all purple and gold - the side that faces us has all the sentamental stuff!)

Wow, that looks cute! Maybe another potential Christmas gift idea. My DD7 can read pretty well, and could use it to take back to school. Then DD5 can take if for show and tell. Hmm... more shopping - Darn!

When you dress that gorgeous baby up in that princess outfit I want to see pics Madame LOL!!!

I too was heartbroken when the North Stars left. (they will always be the NORTH stars!!) I went to college in MA and have family in Boston so if the Twins are out, I have been known to root for the Bosox. The Red Wings - not a bad team to root for I guess :)
I have to smile and chuckle at your username because we call my DD7 SarahBarah a lot, and your username always reminds me of it!

:lmao: That sounds like something my boys would say - about the gift card!!

I don't remember if they have the Potato Head stuff at that store in Toontown or not. We were in there in May. I don't remember seeing it, but it's probably there , that store is huge!! :goodvibes

I told the boys about the Build Your Own Lightsaber and they are already planning out what they're going to put on them! Does anyone have any pictures? Or links to a thread about them?

Thanks, Shelly, for your input on Earl of Sandwich...that makes me think twice about going there! Maybe we'll just see what we feel like the day we're there. I guess I don't have to plan out every single moment!

I too am thinking of that book for my children. It looks really interesting and a fun way for them to journal what they have done and what they liked, and so on.

We are going to do the pressed pennies again, found the list too, it will make it so much easier this time. I also want to do the Pick a Perl with DD and have necklaces done for not only us but also my mom and grandma. We were thinking of doing the Potato Head parts but is that price correct of $19.00? :scared1: How big is the box you are putting the parts into?

We went to Earl of Sandwich in '06 while DH was in Daytona. We loved the food but of course much has probably changed since then. Thank you for the menu of Wofgang's it looks great. DH wanted to try out Raglen Road too or their CS. Great idea posting CS too.

Thank you Shelly for posting the letter to give to the schools. We will use it after Christmas break as that letter states it all. I am grateful that in Ontario, for this year, does not have strict rules about children missing school for vacation times. For Canada to be so much government into our lives, we don't have truancy officers, at least not in our area. If it became too strict, my mom is a teacher and is looking at retiring, we would then have to take her on the trips if we went during the school year. Poor mom, dragged down to Disney.

I also see that Pal Mickey is no longer going to be, phasing them out. I wonder if they will be introducing something to do with the Nintendo DS trial they were doing. That would be great. I was thinking of a Pal Mickey, but now don't have to worry about the extra expense.

Have a great day everyone. I called in sick today but am feeling better so I still may go in. I hope this doesn't move to a new thread before I can get back to it. It seems to be speedy today. I love reading all the different posts.

Speaking of Christmas Ornaments...early in October JC Penny was having their holiday Disney stuff on sale 50% off so I got 4 glass bulbs that have the classic Disney Characters on it. They also had princesses but I have seen enough of my Hubby's " you are insane" looks to last me a lifetime so I passed on those. But....my mom just emailed me and her Hallmark is having a holiday sale and she didn't just ask me what ornaments I wanted this year (Mom always buys 3-4 keepsake ornaments for our tree) she asked " What Disney ornaments I wanted?" LOL I love my mom LOL

Side note: Of course its great to be a Red Wings fan LOL!! (I'm such a sucker for the octopus LOL)
I think the Lions have had a lot of tough seasons lately LOL!!!

I believe that the potato head stuff is in Toontown (at least I think it was there last time). You're right - that store is big - not as big as World of Disney, but nonetheless it's a large store. What I liked about it is it didn't seem as "crowded" as the WOD store can seem.
