QOTD: I, too, NEED a new WDW sweatshirt! :lmao: Also, last year I did the pick a pearl thing, and I told DH I'd like to do that again. He said since I'm doing that, he and DS are doing the build a lite saber!!

Also, I think you can build the pirate skull in the gift shop at the Pirates ride. I know they had treasure chests, but I thought they had the skulls, too. :confused3

We're so looking forward to this trip, even if I have hit a lull in my planning. I think this will be a much more relaxed trip (CS v TS), plus last year we took my MIL with. I love my MIL, and am so glad we were able to take her with for our DS's first trip to the World. But, she has her own time-agenda-thing. She'd be happy and content to spend 3 hours eating breakfast. We never did make it to a park opening! :lmao: That's also whey we did the DDP - she needed that time to sit every day. She did a great job though! We're looking forward to going at our own pace and eating when we are ready, not when our ADRs state. I think my DH is ready to get away from the real world for a while! Sorry for all you with non-disney hubbies, my DH was actually the one who suggested this trip!:cool1: Since we just went last January, I figured it'd be another few years before we went again.

We've never stayed at a moderate before - we've always done the values. Our DS is looking forward to the Pirate pool (we're staying at CBR). :woohoo:

All this talk about food has me hungry! 9 minutes until lunch!:woohoo:

Hugs to you glo!

QOTD - Has there been one yet? If not, please humor me! I'm trying to plan my shopping (yay!) and I'm looking for ideas of souvenirs that are unique to WDW or at least hard to find elsewhere - something like the build-your-own lightsabers. What is everyone planning to buy at DisneyWorld?

Great question! I plan to do the Box of Potato head parts at DTD and pressed pennies. I also want to do the Pick-A-Pearl and get necklaces for DD and me that match. We'll probably get some sort of coffee mugs or glasses - something that we can use on a regular basis to remind us of the trip. DD is getting the birthday gift card and she plans to get some stuffed animals (like she doesn't have a million already!) :rotfl: Our other major souvenir will be the Photopass CD. In the past, we've bought Christmas ornaments on sale in January. It will be hard to resist getting at least one to commemorate this trip.

Wow, I said we weren't going to buy many souvenirs. That list is BIG. :lmao: I need to budget more money for souvenirs. Ack!

I think I need a Disney sweatshirt too! :goodvibes

I think you are right, they do have to pirate skulls and treasure boxes in the shop after the POTC ride! pirate:

My boys really really want to see the new pools at CBR too!! Little do they know, we will be there in 3 months!! :yay:

Okay, so I don't have any great pics of the Build you own Lightsaber, but here are a few! And yes, it is very confusing, but we had a very nice CM help us.

I also must get a new WDW Christmas ornament. we had a glass ball (bulb?) one that was from the 2000 celebration. Yup, it broke last Christmas! :sad1: I may have to get something less fragile.
My girls haven't yet asked for anything. They will do some pin trading and maybe buy one that has the year on it.
Of course, I'm going on the cruise, so I have to get some cruise exclusive souveniers too!

I forgot about the pressed pennies. :scared1: Yikes! I need to get started putting those pennies & quarters into our mini M&M tubes! We've got some room in the penny book we started last year, but I'll probably need to buy another one. It became a mission of our son's to find those machines. Now, I have a list this year!!!:lmao: The side benefit of looking for all those machines is all the stores you need to go into! Lots of opportunites for shopping!!!:cool1:

I don't think Star Tours in very rough. . . What does everyone else think? It's a little jerky maybe, not bad though. My boys have always loved it! :goodvibes

I think it's rough, but bearable. I can't do heavy motion rides. I got really sick on Body Wars, and I can't do Space Mountain, TOT or Rock'n'Roller Coaster. I think it depends on your own tolerance for motion. I put up with it because I love Star Wars so much, and that made the experience great.

Shelly, I know you love coasters, so Star Wars is probably tame to you!!! ;)

I'm so going to do the Disney Potato Head and then put it in my room at school and change it around every once in awhile.

I'm also interested in the cook book, a t-shirt (it is Florida I don't wear sweatshirts too often LOL), and a snowglobe. I would love to start a snowglobe collection in my girlie room (yes I have a girlie room my living room is being taken over by animal jaws and a bear rug LOL)

I just bought some pins online for our son (much cheaper!!). He wasn't too interested in pin trading at the beginning of our last trip, but by the time the week was up, he was finally getting into that trading thing. He knew what he wanted (which included getting rid of the "girly" pins he had:rotfl: )!

One more picture post ~ Here's so you can spot my bag in the parks!

And some of the kids "park gear"! (of course they have way more pins that than now!)

Okay - that is too funny! My DH would be impressed too. My 4 year old son calls it "Starwers" and that cracks me up. I am undecided about taking him on Star Tours - I heard it can be kind of rough...

When I was little we didn't have cable, but they would play Star Wars on TV all the time, so we would all sit and watch it. Then I think my parents bought the trilogy, which was rare, because we didn't own many movies when I was little.

I think I do remember it being a little jerky, but not bad.

My little brother's teacher has a Mr. Potato Head with a Darth Vader mask on... when Adam when to put his stuff in his desk and meet his teacher this year, the teacher asked what he saw around the room that they had in common. Adam was having a hard time, so I whispered "Star Wars" to him... and that's what he ended up saying...

Definitely at least one Christmas ornament. Probably one that says 2009 on it and anything else I can con(vince) my DH into. But we have a theme tree of purple and gold. He's an MN Vikings fan (purple & gold!) so as long as it's those colors, he's cool.

I have that bag! I love it!

Awww..that is so awesome!!! I also remembered that for my Dual Enrollment class (11 students !!) we are throwing a birthday party for one of the students the Friday I get back. So I'm thinking I might try to find some Disney treats that will be okay for a day or two and give them out that day. Any suggestions???

QOTD:

I want to buy lots of goodies for Belle. A Tinkerbelle outfit and another princess outfit, too. Then tons of Playhouse Disney junk.

QOTD - What is everyone planning to buy at DisneyWorld?

I second the build-you-own Mr. Potato Heads! They're definitely awesome. The Boyfriend and I tried to make our own Lightsaber, but got very frustrated and gave up:rotfl: ! I'm also a big shotglass collector, so I try to get very unique ones at each park, especially in Epcot. I've also seen people have their silhouettes done, and I know there's a stand at DTD that does this. I also have a ring specially made for me with my initials, there's a place in Mexico and also at DTD that does this. Everyone always asks where I got it!

My shopping list...
Sweatshirts or shirts for all of us
Mickey Head Cookie Cutter
Potato Head pieces- Since we're driving I'm packing the potatoes (we already have 4). I heard it's stuff a box, is that right? You don't have to buy the potato body do you?

I only have 73 days left until we leave, which means only 71 until I'm married....:lovestruc
How exciting!!! Double countdowns!!!

I was in a planning lull for a week or so but after visiting the DISign thread I have lots of ideas for things to make and do before we leave. I'm going to make a shirt for my parents that says Grandmom's Mouseketeers with all the grandkids names on mouse ears! I also want to make an autograph for my kids. It's really for my son because my dd is so young they are just going to share one I think. Okay I'll fess up- it's really for me. I never have done the autograph thing and want to do it.

Off to get some chores done- naptime is only so long you know! :laundy:
