Well, we just finished our Thanksgiving dinner - boy am I stuffed! :) So good! Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, turnip, peas, stuffing and "Grandpa's Amazing Caramel Pie"for dessert! My InLaws are NOT pumpkin pie fans! A nice glass of wine to finish it off and GOODNIGHT GRANNY..... I am soooooo full! Gotta go shovel my dd5 into bed - she is sooo tired! I'll catch yáll in the morning! :goodvibes

YUMMY! I can't wait for Thanksgiving! Does Grandpa's pie have apples in it?

Good Morning Everybody! :goodvibes I know lots of you have kids off or are off yourselves...have a fun holiday!

We're back into the normal routine after DDs had three days off last week. I have to admit, it's nice to have the house to myself again today, but there's lots of mess to take care of after all the playing and running around.

DD9 has another basketball game, and DD6 has gymnastics. Mondays have been busy days for us. :car:

I do have a question for all the WDW veterans out there. Is there tons of jewelry available there? I mean real, gold jewelry, not costume jewelry. I have to wear real gold or my skin turns weird colors. :scared: I'd really like a nice, classy Mickey or Tink pendant. Possible?

Have a good one!

Yes, there is alot of really nice stuff. You could probably check Ebay and get a great deal. If not, there is plenty to choose from at Disney.
Good Morning Snowbirds:goodvibes

Happy Columbus Day!!--Today was my Grannys bday!! She would have been 75--I love October---maybe that's why!!

Bella and Trixie (I think it's Trixie) who have chihuauas. My kids have wanted one forever---after that movie they REALLY want one!!! We have smallish dog already--do they do well with other dogs in the house? I thought if we got it as a puppy, that would be good-annie is a mothery type dog and would probably like having it around. Are there any things you really have to be aware of with this breed....or what? For those of you who do have one, would you get another one? I thought if we got one anytime soon, it would keep them occupied until our trip they know not of!! But, I really didn't want to do it for Christmas-that's so close to trip time, I didn't know if that'ld be a good idea. So, what do you think?

Okay Disney QOTD: If you could have any job at Disney--what would it be?

Happy B-Day Granny! WooHoo!

I love my dog so much! I always said I would never have a chihuahua and Lu pretty much just fell into our lap. She rarely barks and plays really well with my parents dogs when we take her for a visit. I don't dress her up or carry her around in my purse. She is spoiled with love, not with material things. ;) The only issue is that they are very fragile, health-wise.

QOTD:
I pretty much had my dream job and it was as wonderful as it seems. If I could go back I would love to be Cinderella, be in The Festival of the Lion King or give tours to Give Kids the World or Make a Wish kids. I loved meeting the kids when they came into the parks. We were literally allowed to give them anything they wanted. It was great!

Hi everyone! It's late in the day and I'm just not checking in. We've had a good weekend just lazing around at my parents. G is feeling much better and we took Belle for a long walk this afternoon. It's in the mid-70's here and it feels wonderful! Last night G and I shared a cup of Godiva Cocoa and really talked for the first time since the surgery. Today I baked Amish Friendship Bread. It is DELISH!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I know this is going to make our marriage much stronger! It means alot for you to share that with me.

Soliel, so happy to hear "G" is doing much better and you got to enjoy some time together as a family!!!

Okay Disney QOTD: If you could have any job at Disney--what would it be? I think it would be soooo fun to either be a dancer( I danced in high school & loved it) for something like Beauty & the Beast...or be one of the streetmosphere people at the Studios. They always have a blast and interact great with the kids. Our favorites are Otto Von Bon Bon and Dorma Nesmond-and of course Frances!! He's hysterical!!!!!

WoW!! What a tough question...I would just love to work at Walt Disney World period. But when I think more about it I would love to work behind the scenes at Animal Kingdom with the animals. My emphasis in Science was Animal physiology and it would be amazing to work on Rafiki's Animal Watch with the babies and animals that are in need of extra special care!!

  :dance3: :dance3: Starting early to celebrate all of you who will be doing double digits tomorrow!! YAY!!!

I think I hit the 3 month mark sometimes this week..so more parties to come LOL!!!!

What is Amish Friendship bread? I think I need a recipe!! NDG--how cool about Paddle-to-the-Sea!!!! Maybe I should take a trip up there as well!! Ha! Anything for education, right?:teacher:

Bella~ Glad things are getting better for G.

I knew I forgot a post!

AFB is like a culinary chain letter. The original starter actually comes from the Amish and you have to get it from them to be able to make it. You have to piddle with it for 9 days and on the 10th day you add flower, sugar and milk. Then you put 4 cups into ziplock bags (keep one for yourself to bake with) and pass the bags on to your friends. Then they repeat these steps and the bread keeps going.

When you back the bread you add lots of sugar and pudding mix. It is absolutey DIVINE!!!! I will take pictures the next time I bake a loaf. :)

That sounds so cool!

QOTD- I think it would have to be a princess... I know, cliche, but what can you do?:confused3

I'm one day behind all of the Jan 21 people, sigh, but my double digit dance is coming! :dance3:

I love AFB... it was always passed around the Air Force base when we lived on one.... haven't seen it in years.... it was soooooooo yummy....

Soleil... I was telling my DD you were in Beauty and the Beast... it is her fav show at Disney... she wanted to know what you did.....she loves the witch.... my DD has danced since she was three.... she joined the dance group at college and is taking a modern dance class.... she is a psych major though.... but seems she can't get the dancing bug out of her..... she is a little tiny thing... 5 ft and about 100 lbs..... she would love to either do an internship in the Netherlands her Jr. year or the Disney College program.... but she wants to perform... and knows that might be tough.....

Good Morning Everyone...!!

Now that I am looking forward to January 4th, I'll be checking in more:)

Soleil, I am happy to hear that your husband is doing well. You are both in my prayers..

I am home today not doing much but cleaning and dissing.

We are scheduled to leave January 3rd on the autotrain and arriving early on the fourth in Florida. I am starting to get cold feet about taking the train.:sad2: My husband really wants to do it but he told me that if we can find cheap flights we can switch to flying. We'll see.

gotta run and sign some contracts..... I hate it when my job gets in the way of Dissing............. oh well.............happy Columbus Day all.....see you soon.........

Good Morning.

QOTD: Any job...well I definately wouldn't be a princess! (Sorry!) I actually would love to be a part of Disney's design team. To be a part of renovations, or helping to create something new, such as the designers for the new Contemporary stuff. To me, that would be amazing. I don't want one of those 'put me in a spot light' jobs. I love walking into places at Disney and thinking "This is amazing".

Not much going on here today. I'm not scheduled to work, but I'm sure I'll get called in. Someone new is doing our scheduling now and, well, she's an idiot.:rotfl: Hasn't looked at when anyone requests off, hasn't looked at hours of availability for people, nothing. She just schedules you and then is done. Yesterday she scheduled 3 people that had requested off. Then asked if I could work later to cover up for her mistake. Nope...I couldn't!:rolleyes1

It's supposed to be nice here again today. I might end up taking the little people to the park (my mother does in-home child care). Other than that, not much is going on.

Oooohh - good point! I'm fascinated by all of the behind the scenes stuff. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to take that big tour.

I wasn't in Beauty and the Beast. I worked as "crowd control" during my College Program. :goodvibes Sorry if I gave that impression.

Wow...almost time for some serious double digit dancing! When do we reach the point where every one of us must be doing the double digit dance? Must be coming up!

Peach3s--is the Mediterranean just beautiful? I would love to see it!!:cool2:

It is gorgeous! Here are a few picture from a camping trip we took in early April. We went close to the Lebanon border with friends and camped out. The national park was literally on the sea shore! It was breathtaking!

Truly gorgeous! Yesterday's beach was no exception. This one was south of Tel Aviv, closer to Jerusalem. It really was a lovely day.

Today we were supposed to study Arabic with our tutor, but we had about a billion interruptions. :sad2: Trouble from our old landlady again...but I think things are looking up.

In any event, getting excited about my Disney trip! Only 87 more days for us!!!!!:rotfl:

You are right, Peaches, those pictures are simply breathtaking!! Glad to hear you guys had such a wonderful time!!

I'll be keeping in prayer your situation with your old landlady and hope all of that will get put behind you in no time!!!

Good Morning Everyone...!!

Now that I am looking forward to January 4th, I'll be checking in more:)

I went "you're looking forward to my birthday? really?" and then remembered, oh yeah, we're all going to Disney in January! Not about me all the time!! :rotfl:

I'm ready for January, that's for sure!!

Of course, see... I have to give a presentation to all the graduate students in my department at the end of the month and, really, I'd rather hide on my desk than stand in front of any groups of people and talk. ACK. But I knew I'd have to do this when I got hired here sooo.... :confused3

I'm such a chicken. :D

Disney is our next travel-somewhere vacation, so I'm really looking forward to it! Thanksgiving is our "visit family" holiday this year and DH and I are staying home for Christmas. The U gives us from December 25-Jan 1 off, paid, each year, so sometimes it is just nice to be able to be lazy in my own house for more than a weekend!!

Peach3s-love those pictures!! That water is so beautiful. Do you ever just look around at certain places and get chills--knowing that is where Jesus was walking around? I think it would be so awe-inspiring.

I wasn't in Beauty and the Beast. I worked as "crowd control" during my College Program. :goodvibes Sorry if I gave that impression.

So, what is "crowd control" is that the CM that stands and directs people at the entrance and exits of the show? Or for character meet and greet? I have seen the childrens wish thing on one of my trips--I guess that's what it was--John Travolta was there with a little boy in a wheelchair and his mom and another brother---- very sweet. It made me :sad1: for the little boy.I am glad they can be catered to just a wee bit sometimes!!! They have to go through soooo much.

Don't you just love those times when you can just enjoy your house for awhile! My hubby and I decided after a major summer of traveling and going away last Thanksgiving and Christmas, this year we are staying put and just enjoy the holidays the two of us!!! Going for peaceful and relaxing!

That would be fun too....I would be walking around singing all day... BE OUR GUEST... :rotfl: ..... she really loves to perform... her dad is worried she will change from a psych major to music and dance:confused3 .... I told him not to worry... she has done lots of reading up on the college program... I think she will try for the internship first - she really wants to study at some school in the Netherlands that her university has a partnership with... and then the Disney College Program after that...

got run and check on the cheesecake in the oven.................
