So far I have ADRs for...

Day 1: Magic Kingdom: Tony's Town Square (dinner)
Day 2: EPCOT: Les Chefs de France (lunch)
Day 3: DHS: 50's Prime Time Cafe (Dinner)
Day 4: Magic Kingdom: 1900 Park Fare (Dinner)
Day 5: Animal Kingdom (half day here)

I'm not a picky eater and am willing to try anything once!

How about Boma on Day 5, Animal Kingdom day? We've never been there, but are going to try it because of the rave reviews it receives. I'm not sure my family would be too excited if I tried to describe it to them, so I'm picking it for my birthday dinner so they don't have a choice! ;)

We didn't plan the trip around my birthday--the boys have several days off school so it was a good time to go, and my birthday happens to be at that time. But now I'm super excited about $75 worth of free shopping! :woohoo:

I think it was Bella who mentioned that Boma's has a good breakfast anyone on the board been there??

At some point I realize I might have to venture outside this thread but I'm so comfortable here LOL

I thought I read that the one day ticket was upgradable, so I'm going to get that out, and then buy the multi-day ticket for DD when we get there. I'm searching through everything to confirm that. I may send a note to Cheshire Figment to check - she's the expert! If the upgrade IS true, then you can save the $75 on an admission ticket.

I'd rather do that. DD also wants to do Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on her b'day. I wonder if the fun card will work for that?

I was going to suggest Boma. I've never been, but I am dying to go to AKL. Maybe DH and I will have time this trip. It seems FABULOUS!!!! I have heard wonderful things about Boma and it's been suggested to me several times. I just couldn't find the fit this trip, though.

Other suggestions:
Kona Cafe for Breakfast (maybe before you MK day on the 4th)
Marakesh (sp?)
Mama Melrose
Wolf Gang Puck in Downtown Disney
I've also been hearing great things about the Grand Floridian Cafe

Another silly question from the newby here! I bought my tickets through Southwest. What is this wonderful "Ding" i've been hearing about? :confused3

Go to their website and install the Ding program. Then they will send you specials (Dings) for your city, right to your computer. Usually about 2 months prior to the date they send out the special prices and it's usually for mid-week dates. Then if your flight that you previously booked goes down they will credit your account!

Boma's for breakfast is a "Must Do" IMHO. They have exceptional scrambled eggs. So much so that on our first visit to Boma's we asked our server why their buffet eggs were so much better. He said the chef puts a little sugar in the eggs. They also have the best "house" juice anywhere. It's a combination of orange, pineapple, papaya and I don't know what else, but in January we actually have it on our itinerary to call Boma's to make sure they have "the juice". On our last trip (I can't believe it's been 11 months already) one of the things my daughter wanted me to bring back from Disney World was some of "the juice". Wouldn't you know it, they were out. We were told that it's the first time ever that the truck didn't arrive.

I would recommend LeCellier for dinner. Their steaks melt in your mouth, and they have wonderful warm breadsticks. YUM.

Good Day my snowbird friends! Just wanted to pop in and say "HELLO" ! :goodvibes Hope everyone is having a good friday! Weekend is here!

:cool1: 4 months today and i will be in Disney! :cool1:

YAY ~ I am going to be under 4 months VERY SOON!!!!!

:cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :cool1: :woohoo: :yay:

Oooh I'm so glad you're hitting the "under 4 months" mark because it means I'm right behind you!!!!! Won't it be nice to say 3 months and X days!:cool1: (Although I cheated on my counter and made it countdown til the day we leave to drive down rather than the day day we actually arrive at WDW)

I posted on the Fairy GodMailer thread and found someone to send postcards to my kids:yay: They're going to be so excited!

Boma's it is..I have made my ADR for their breakfast buffet before I head over to my half day in Animal Kingdom and then return home :( But the good news is the minute I hit home its time to start planning my next trip LOL which will be in December 2009, I will see the world at Christmas time!! YAY!!

Just want to say thank you for all your wonderful advice Snowbirds. I'm a terrible decsion maker and you made it a lot easier on me!!

Congrats to all of you that just made it or are about to make it under that 4 month mark!! YAY

I just bought my plane tickets!:cool1: It's real! It's real! After confirming with my mom that she would prefer to fly out of Allentown, because my sister lives 20 minutes from the airport, in spite of the extra cost, I bought 7 tickets from Allentown, PA to Orlando via Newark. I'm so excited!

It ended up being a little over $200/person, which actually isn't bad for a flight out of Allentown. We got great times, putting us into Orlando late morning and leaving at 2:50pm on our departure day, giving us some time in the morning. I like that!

Plus, if we had flown out of Philly, we would have had to use long-term parking and fought the morning rushhour and spend an extra long time on the road. My mom's nervous about a PA snowstorm or ice storm. That's why she nixed the idea of traveling to Baltimore to stay with my BIL.

She's paying. I won't argue. :lmao:

Oh, I can't wait to get to Disney! I can't wait!!!!

Hello everyone! My friend Soleil told me about this thread, and it sounds like you snowbirds (I love that name btw!) have a lot of fun! My family is arriving at the world just afer New Years (we're hoping to avoid all the Christmas crowds!) and staying for about a week and doing a short but sweet 3-night Disney cruise!...I can't wait!

I'm so annoyed at the new birthday promotion! My bday is at the END of January, and we're going at the beginning! :headache: We already bought tickets, but I would've loved a gift card to splurge on souveniers!

:cheer2: Yay Emma!!!! I'm so glad you decided to join us.:cheer2:

You guys should read her Trip Reports. She is an amazing writer and they are tons of fun to read.
