Thanks distherapy I couldn't remember that name for the life of me. I just remember that there was no wait, air conditioned, quiet, & we went thru SM. I had 20 lbs of sleeping baby on my shoulders it was a nice relief spot. Then when he woke up he enjoyed standing on the seats looking out the window.

I swear by this weekend I will be posting photos of the bin and the binders.

Monny2AE, absolutely NOT a poke at the Bins-ers. I have one myself, as a matter of fact tonight I added laundry detergent, toothpaste, hand cream. The bin's already getting full, believe me. I may be starting on bin 2.

'Night all. See you in the AM!

Woo Hoo on joining the 2 bin club! All this talk of binders- I'm feeling I may need to work on mine- it's kinda bare! What does everyone have in theirs?

The Big News was kind of disappointing. I was hoping for free dining or something more exciting. We're going during my hubby's birthday but if you read the fine print- he doesn't get in for free b/c we've already bought the tickets so I think we'll be taking the Bday fun card option. I guess it's a sort of gift card?
If you already have a park ticket you can choose...
* A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket* for you to use on your birthday for merchandise, recreation or fun activities at select participating locations at Walt Disney World® Resort; or
* A special birthday FASTPASS® badge+ for certain attractions at the Theme Park you visit on your birthday; or
* A 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket for you to use any time until your next birthday.

That is so frustrating! I will be there exactly one month before my Birthday and exactly one month after DH's birthday!
I wish they'd just bring YOAMD's back, it was much more inclusive!

Peaches- You will love Tomorrowland Transit Authority! It is one of my favorites.:goodvibes It also goes through Space Mountain, so the kids can see SM in motion. There is never a wait for it, so I think it would be lots of fun. Maybe you could do it and another quick-line ride.:goodvibes

"What Will You Celebrate?" is the theme for 2009, no more Year of a Million Dreams. You can go to the Disney Parks website and see all the details (there is a ton) and you can enter a contest to win your Celebration Vacation. Disney is also visiting several cities across the county with a "mobile" Celebration Vacation Tour. Check out Disney's site, all the details are there. Not the monumental announcement we wanted, but cool if you'll be there for your birthday or Anniversary etc.:)

Hi All my fellow January 2009ers! Just finally checking in again after "falling off the face of the earth" the past month - LOL! Between getting D moved back to college and then starting school myself (teacher), it has been a crazy month. She had to move in to school (200 miles away) at 6:00 PM on a Monday and I started school the next morning at 7:30 AM - not too much fun......... My H did most of the driving, but he faded the last hour and I had to finish off the driving, but luckily had slept through most of the trip.

Now, it is time to start planning again for our January trip, and finishing off making those missing ADRs I never got around to. I can't believe how big this thread has gotten. I guess I have been away for awhile! It's been fun reading through all of the new posts and seeing how many of us will be there in January. Can't wait for the day we will be getting on our plane and flying south!!:cheer2:

:offtopic:

I'm so excited! I just got Belle a ton of winter clothes at Old Navy. They are having a 40% off baby/toddler sale right, in case anyone is interested.

Yay Old Navy!:cheer2:

Here's some skittle hugs  :grouphug:  , and pixie dust pixiedust: that all will go well and according to YOUR schedule! Keep us posted.

:grouphug: I hope everything works out okay for you!!!:grouphug:

I sooooo understand what your saying. I just had my foot surgery this last Friday and worked on scheduling it with the doctor so it wouldn't interfere with Disney! In fact, the decision to move forward with the surgery now was because I wanted "happy feet" for my vacation! My doctor kinda rolled his eyes and smiled. I think he understands the importance of a WDW vacation. :rotfl:

Hi!
So go ahead if it isn't an emergency scheule the surgery so it doens't interfere with your trip.:flower3:

Sarbah77 - Hope everything works out for you with the scheduling of the surgery. pixiedust: :grouphug:

Thanks!!! Well, I have my first appointment (for those of us who have had surgery with an HMO, we all know this is just another step: first, see your doctor, who then sends you to the specialist, then get to know the specialist and schedule things) for September 29th at 9:30! This works very well. I'm on vacation until the 28th and I have a class on the 30th. Whew! 11 more days to wait and wonder what's going to happen... and when!

That is so frustrating! I will be there exactly one month before my Birthday and exactly one month after DH's birthday!
I wish they'd just bring YOAMD's back, it was much more inclusive!

I'll be there five days AFTER my birthday, dang nabbit! And 9 days after my MIL's (who is probably coming) and 12 days after my mom's. Of course, they're both late 2008 so it doesn't matter as this is a 2009 thing.

So, can someone please tell me if I'm crazy or not? Wait...maybe I shouldn't ask that question! :lmao:

Was there a skyride in Disney? I thought I distinctly remembered sitting in a skyride that we picked up somewhere near Space Mountain...like those old time skyrides from amusement parks. I think 2 of us rode together. Or am I thinking of something else? I hate when my mind plays tricks on me!:rolleyes1

Yes, there was a skyride, the buildings are still there. I even think there was a thread about the ride somewhere on the boards here. I'm with you, I loved rides like that:thumbsup2.

Ignore my message I completely ignored the past tense of that statement LOL!! I'm not quite sure how I would have felt about a skyride I'm not a big heights fan..TOT is hard enough to get me on..I just like the que the dropping from great height I could pass up LOL

Okay, I'm going to be a Negative Nellie and say that as far as the 2009 theme goes.... it looks like Disney is going to be making a ton off of all of these "Celebration" ideas and not giving anything special for free (like YOAMD).

Have you guys checked out all of the "Celebration" opporunities?

Everyone gets in free on their birthday so that's pretty nice. Also if you're an AP holder or multi day ticket holder you can choose from 3 other options. One of which is a gift card for the value of the one day ticket that must be used on your birthday. So shopping!!! It doesn't sound bad to me. Downside of course is if you're not going on your birthday.

I too am a bit bummed about the birthday thing as my birthday is in October, but at least its something new for them LOL!! And I bit the bullet, I booked my resort for a 2009 Christmas trip...man I such a nutcase. My hubby is going to move me out Florida ASAP if this trend continues LOL!!

That's great! Wow! :cutie:

I was just looking at all of the cakes, room decorations, and such you can order now. I'm actually considering having our room decorated when we arrive to suprise DH. Waiting on Disney Dream Makers to call me back on that.

I read through the FAQ and it says that you can upgrade from that ticket. So, that could give me a $67 credit towards DD's multi-day ticket? I wonder how much the fun card for shopping will be able to be used for - they said something like "participating locations", so it doesn't seem unlimited. I think I want to go for the one day ticket, that's make DD's ticket around $130 for 10 days - awesome!!!

Based on some of the things I read on the Disney website, it looks like they are opening up some of the Grand Gathering type events to the public. There's a fireworks cruise with Cap'n Hook and Mr. Smee with food, fireworks and the water electrical parade for $43.99 per adult. I think we may want to do that one. Was that available before and I just missed it?

My binder is going to burst - there's lots more to go through and decide. I think for once I'm glad I didn't over-plan yet.

Do you have the official name of the fireworks cruise?? I would love to see if I could get on one of those!!:worship:

I was looking at the room decorating package too but I'm wondering what it includes and what the cost would be- of course they don't put THAT on the website! :rolleyes1 Perhaps I'll have to make a phone call tomorrow to find out more. Let us know if you find out first!

We will be there on our wedding anniversary! (#23) Does that get us anything fun?

Great news today! Our Southwest airfares went down by $60 PER PERSON for our flight to Orlando! WooHoo!! That is $240 credit!

Apparently it's not starting until Spring  It's called a Fireworks Voyage. It's listed under Grand Gatherings on the WDW website, but I got there from another page (not sure where :confused3 ) that wasn't Grand Gatherings. Either way, it's not going on when we're there.

Sorry- I got all excited for that one.
