I asked way back but I think it got lost along the way...

For my fellow PA Snowbirds- Has anyone gone to the Disney Outlets in Lancaster? Do they have good deals? It's only about a 45 minute drive for me and I'm hoping it will be worth it. I'm making it my bday present to myself at the end of this month. Hey, I'm turning 30 so I at least deserve a day at the Disney Outlet store- without children!!!:yay:

I haven't been there. Been through Lancaster a few times when we have been at Hershey and traveled to Strasburg. But now that I know there's a Disney outlet I will make sure to stop next time we are in the area! :goodvibes

And I had a terrible thought: what happens after January? Since this board is so huge and I don't visit too many places, I feel like I'm getting to know you all a little bit. What happens to our little group once our trips have passed?:sad1:

Well, here's what will happen ~ We will all come back to this thread after our trips and share our trip reports!! We will post pictures of our trips and of ourselves with any Snowbirds that we meet! :cool1: We will stay in touch to talk about our lives, oh and Disney of course! And hopefully we will all be planning future trips!! :wizard: :goodvibes .

Everybody okay with that plan??? :rotfl:

I have been to the Disney outlet in Lancaster. It is ok. I myself enjoy the other shops at Lancaster-Kitchen Kettle, Grandmas attic, and Shady Maple. My girl friends and I go a couple times a year. It is about 45 minute drive for us. I am located in Delaware County. :thumbsup2 I see you are from Maryland, Rehoboth outlets in Delaware has a Disney store outlet. I like their outlets better, and no tax!!!!! We were just there in Aug. We hit there after vacationing in ocean city Maryland. I also bought pink PJ bottoms from their on clearance.
Since the maps arrive so quickly I think I'll wait to order them til it gets closer.

Belle did the Alice Tea Party. It was very cute. It is an hour or so and we dropped our daughter off and went to lunch at Grand Floridian Cafe. She had a lot of fun.
Here are a few pics.

Shelly, I know we've been over this pirate cruise thing about a thousand times, but could you just give me some very basic info about it? I think my friend should consider it. Her kids are DD8, DD6, DS4. Do you think 4 is too young? Thanks.

OMG I want to go do the tea party myself!:lmao:
For those staying at WDW on new years, what park are you going to spend new years eve at? Though we are not booked yet, I am debating on MK or Epcot. I have read MK will be very busy, so I thought maybe do Epcot and MK the next day wont be as busy. But then I am thinking I want to be able to say I was at MK for a whole year! We never do anything for new years. We stay home with the kids. I make Maryland crab cakes for dinner. Later that night I make appetizers and we have shirly temples for the kids and they bang pot and pans. So this year will be differnt, and I am so looking forward to it.

Here's some info on the Pirate Cruise at the GF:

Here is info on the Pirate Cruise at CBR, the Jester Cruise at POR, and the Albatross Treasure Cruise at the YC:

The kids haven't done one yet, so I can't really say if it would be good for a 4 year old. . . I know most of them list the ages as being 4-10, but when I called I was told it's 4-12. I'm not sure I would have sent my kids at 4, probably not. . . . but that's just me!

Absolutely - because we'll be planning our next January trip for 2010. All of you who haven't been in January before will be learning the joy of January and we'll stay together forever!!!!

I hope you're right!! :goodvibes I have been a little nervous about the January weather lately. . . not sure why. . . probably just because I want us to be able to try out the new pool at CBR and am afraid it's not going to be warm enough. And I am thinking that I am going to have to pack every piece of clothing that I own! :rotfl:

Being a January “veteran”:goodvibes , unless the weather is down right miserable for your time there, you should get a least one day in the pool. We have gone down the same time every year and there always have been a few warm days (even in 2007 when it was nearly down to the 30’s some nights). Last year it averaged right around 75-80 degrees for the 8 days we were there. We went swimming with the kids at night and it was still pretty comfortable (and I get cold easy, Hubby is a Polar Bear!;) ).

Hooray! I was wondering the same thing. Maybe we will take Belle next January instead of September. Then we can all meet!

I am sad that we are going at different times and won't be able to meet this go round.:sad2:

Peanut-Your daughter is so adorable!!!! It's almost enough to make me want to have a daughter now!

I've been worried about the weather too. I remember going in Dec. and Feb. several times when I was younger and never going swimming and wearing winter coats at night for MVMCP. Although the lack of swimming may have been due to the 3 to 4 day visits and not the weather.
I will definatly be bringing pants and long sleeve shirts along with shorts and t-shirts. That will be one stuffed suitcase! :scared:

I'm really hoping to get a day to lay by the pool. It's been ages since I've had the opportunity.

Hoping for warm weather on my "off park" day.:wizard:

Okay, everyone, this will be my monumental 500th post, the one that finally makes me a DIS Veteran. I just wanted to share it with (as Peach3es would say)...all my Snowbird Peeps! Here's my party, you're all invited! No gifts, please.

party: 500 party:
