Shelly-

Will you please post the link to your Dining Review? I would love to read it.:goodvibes

Good afternoon snowbirds!

Bella...my prayers are with you and your dh right now. I'm so very sorry he has to have surgery again :(

QOTD: no I have not started thinking about CS. We'll probably go with the flow on that.

I can't believe how booked up January is. I have been checking daily to see if I can get into CR and for fun this morning I checked several resorts to see pricing and what was available. Nothing at all at Poly. GF has garden view only, CR has only the bay view suite for 11k :rotfl2: not in my budget, nothing at YC, beach club has some room categories, and AKL has every category. I priced out Club level for AKL for fun and it was about the same as what we are paying for theme park view at GF. Dh has said he'd like to stay there so maybe when the kids get older I'll definitely do it. Looks like a nice place and we'd really enjoy looking at all the animals.

Today is blah here. It's raining so we are stuck inside. My neighbor was suppose to come by for a playdate but I asked for 1230 and its now 145 and she's still not here. She said she needed to wait until her son woke up...I wanted to clean my house this afternoon so her time frame isn't working for me

Hope you all have a great day!!!

:lmao: Hey ! I have one of those too! Let's see, what's in mine? Activity books for the girls for the plane ride, rain ponchos, Travel size shampoo and body wash, some outfits I bought on clearance and stashed away, small size coffee filters, mcdonalds toys, and about a million other things I can't remember right now! :rotfl: When I find something that we might need, I buy and throw in the bin! We should form a support group - The secret bin keepers club! ;)

"Hello, my name is Trixie, and I have a secret bin."

Everybody together now, "Hi, Trixie." :rotfl2:

:rotfl: I am laughing so hard right now!!! Your contents sound exactly like mine! A big mix of stuff I've grabbed on clearance or just because I liked it...and I have ponchos too! A support group is definitely in order. We should all post pics of our stash- mine is in my dd closet and she's napping right now but I'll get one up soon so we can all laugh!

I need some support!

I've never shared with you all, that when I was 8 months pregnant DH got very sick and I almost lost him. His appendix ruptured, but he was misdiagnosed for 11 days before it was removed. He abdomen was eaten up by "poison" (for lack of a better term) and he suffers with hernias now because of all the trauma. His stomach muscles are weak and a hernia has reappeared. I'm so frustrated with all of this that I just want to cry! We are just starting out in our marriage and it's so hard going through all of this medical drama and wondering what the rest of our life will be like because of it.

Anyhow, DH just went to an appointment and he's going to need surgery again. :sad1:

So sorry to hear you guys have to go through surgery. It's scary when something happens your other half. My dh just went through kidney stones and that was scary enough for me. You'll all be in my prayers:flower3:

I think it says Tons O Fun! :goodvibes

There is just about any kind of candy you could ever want at Goofy's Candy Co!

I think one wall may be jelly beans and one is all kinds of bulk candy. It is very expensive though, something like $3.95 per 1/4 pound!

On the DDP for one snack credit you can get 3 pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and rolled in a topping (oreos, m&m's, reeses, caramel, sprinkles, etc.)!! Very yummy!!

We usually go there twice on our trip. Once to get pretzels and then again on the night before we leave to go home because we usually have a ton of snack credits left. Just about anything in the store that is less than $4 and doesn't say "family size" on it is a snack on the DDP!

Is this new? We were there in 2004 and I must have missed it if it was there then. So glad to hear you can cash in snacks for it- I think we're going with the QSDDP (if I did my math right it will definitely save us a bit) and my dh and ds will be so happy to know they can get candy!

I'm not sure how long it's been there. It was there in 2005! When you get off the bus at DTD at the Marketplace it is on the right before you come to Rainforest Cafe.

"Hello, my name is Trixie, and I have a secret bin."

Everybody together now, "Hi, Trixie." :rotfl2:

Hi Trixie. :thumbsup2 I have a BIG bin in the basement. Just this weekend, I put in a 4 piece set of melamine Pfaltzgraff dishes in Yorktowne on clearance at the outlet for $5. The Family Suites only have paper, so I figured why not? A nice set of dishes for our cereal, snacks, coffee etc., plus I'm a dish junkie, so any excuse to buy more dishes is good for me :lmao:

We're driving, so the bin goes in the back of the van. My totally organized hubby will have it packed exactly perfect with all of our extras, food and stuff for the room. So technically we have started packing! YAY

Okay, Peanut. Distract me from my sad thoughts with talk of Disney food.

Where all are you eating in October?
What do you usually get at Tangerine Cafe? (This will be our first try.)

Flame Tree is Awesome! MGM doesn't have the best selections for CS, does it? Puck's is also my favorite. It has been since I was a sweet little College Progam kiddie.:goodvibes

October will be a food fest...
Tutto Italia-lunch
Flying Fish-Dinner
Chefs de France-lunch
Tokyo Dining-Dinner(great view for illuminations)
Lunch-Kona Cafe
Dinner-California Grille(anniversary dinner/hopefully window table for wishes)
Lunch-Coral Reel

tangerine cafe is so yummy, even our girls loved it. We love the lamb, the cous cous, and for dessert the baklava is heaven on earth.

It's a lot of sit downs but we are without kids so it should be good.
I am currently doing WW...I have lost 8 pounds so far in about 5 weeks. Hoping to be down 10 for our trip(total I want to lose is about 25)...and my goal is to not gain an ounce on our trip. We did 12 days on the dining plan in October and I lost 2 pounds. I am a little nervous though because I don't want to blow all of my progress. We are going for 5 days and I am planning on exercsing in the morning on 2 days that I am there, drinking lots of water and eating only part of my desserts. Hopefully, this will work for me. I promised my husband that I will enjoy myself and not be too obsessed with what I am eating....When I start something, I tend to go all out.

I am also nervous about leaving my baby girl Abby...I have never left her and she will be 2 at the end of this month. We left our first several times when she was young but we haven't been on a vacation alone in 3 years.

Hi. We had open house/meet the teacher last night, so I had a chance to mention our trip to DDs second grade teacher. She said something like, "okay great, just let me know around a week ahead of time."

She said she likes them to keep a journal and I told her I also wanted worksheets to keep up with math, since we're going for two weeks and I wanted to be sure she didn't fall behind. She seemed a little surprised when I told her we were going for 2 weeks but basically said that was great. I made sure she was aware that we take school seriously.

When we saw the big group presentation (we have five 2nd grade classrooms), the "family trip" was mentioned. It was a bullet about paperwork and homework assignments that said something like:

- Family trip paperwork submitted five days in advance.

Obviously a common occurrence in the school.

I was thinking about leaving Belle today and I got a little teary eyed. We left her with Nana and Grandaddy quite a bit when she was first born, but the older she gets, the more attached I get. It is going to be a bitter-sweet trip, but I know it will convince DH all the more to plan a September trip just for her.:cutie:

Aww - it's okay.

The last time we at WDW our DS was 14 months old and his grandparents watched him. I SO needed that trip, and once I got past the initial anxiety, I was able to relax and REALLY enjoy being alone with my DH again. It's so great that you have someone to watch them. Take advantage of it when you can!

Doesn't mean you don't love them, but it's a great way to get back to being a couple again and remembering all the reasons you fell in love  PLUS YOU'RE AT DISNEY WORLD!!! pixiedust:

I completely agree!!! We did a marriage retreat with our church a few months ago and something the speaker said sticks with me; we need this trip and time together to be better parents. Especially with DH having two surgerys this year. We've been through alot and I can't wait to fall in love all over again!:lovestruc ::hug:

Hello, Snowbirds!

We are planning our first January trip (Jan 6-12). We usually go in September and have enjoyed that. Our oldest daughter is now in college and wouldn't ALLOW us to go without her in September. So we will go in January over her break.

I am looking forward to the cooler weather and the low crowds. We also will be happy to leave PA in the winter, too!

We are busy planning our schedule and meals. We have ADR's at Cantina de San Angel, Kona, Chefs de France, Captain's Grille, the Wave, and Grand Floridian Cafe. That is a combination of some of our favorites and some new ones.

Four months to go!

:welcome: to the Snowbirds Epcot_is_a_verb!

Soleil-You and your DH will be in my thoughts for a speedy recovery!!!!!! :goodvibes:

I'm glad everyone's big kids had a great first day of school! I've been in school for 17 years :scared1: and my mom still wants me to take a first day of school picture! Good thing she lives 240 miles away. ;)

QOTD-CS food, Yummie!
AK-Yak and Yeti or Pizzafari! For some reason I LOVE Disney Pizza, grease and all!
Epcot-Tangerine cafe and Sunshine seasons. I LOVE the sunshine seasons fruit tart. The custard is amazing!!!
MK-Columbia Harbor House. I really like the veggie selections here.
MGM (DHS)-Cart food, b/c I hate MGM counter service. popcorn::

CS places...Captain Cook's at the Poly for Tonga Toast for breakfast (and they open early, like 6:30 am, so we can still get to the park for rope drop), and probably Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD and Pizza Planet??? Hmm, I need to do some more thinking about that!

Northern Girl- you are seriously organized. I admire that. :lovestruc

:) Why, Thank You! I knew somebody out there would appreciate my organizational obsessiveness! :rotfl: My Dh just rolls his eyes at me me and laughs when I tell him I found another great deal to add to "THE BIN" :)

Now I want to see everybody's bins!!! :hyper: Hurry! Hurry! I'll post mine if someone will PM me how to do it. :teacher:

I'm going to try and figure out how to do it. Photobucket I guess would work. I have to take the pic when my kiddos aren't around as some of the contents are surprises/Christmas gifts for them. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's started packing this far in advance!!!:cloud9:

God will provide! He ALWAYS has and through all of this we have learned to trust Him even more. That is the silver lining in all of this, I suppose. :)

Bella, what rotten timing! So much stress and sadness for such a young marriage. Take care of yurself so you can be ther for your DH! Yes, God will provide! He will be your strength AND provider when hard times hit! (even in good times too:) ) Your family will be in my prayers! Hang in there! I just finished reading your TR and I love it! :goodvibes

QOTD - CS restaurants......

MK - Columbia HArbour House - I love Tuna!
- Cosmic Rays - my DH is definitely in favor of trying the chicken and rib platter!
- Casey's - My kids adore corn dogs (we actually call them pogos)

EPCOT - Sunshine seasons - so many choices........mmmmmmm
- Tangerine Cafe - my DH loves ethnic food!

Animal Kingdom - not sure yet - maybe pizzafari - my DD5 has a milk allergy so CS choices at both AK and DHS are going to be tough!

DHS - again, not sure, have to do some more researxh!

Anybody have any suggestions for GOOD CS food at either Ak or DHS for a child with a milk allergy? She can't have any cow's milk products at all! She drinks soy milk! :confused3 My kids are not at all picky eaters, but we do need to avoid pizza, mac&cheese etc

Hi --

I don't have any answers to the QOTD but I'm taking notes! Thanks!

And, thank you, Bella, for letting us know about your husband. He's greatly blessed to have a wife who loves him as much as you do. Yes, God does provide - it's so great that you've seen that so far and that you have faith that He'll do it again.

And, thank you, Shelly, for sharing your story about your husband's job -- it's really amazing to look back on those very difficult times and see that, hey, God really did work through all of this!
