Momof2disneyboys if that does start to be an issue you can always use it more as a "treat' example if you go 2 days without getting your name on the board then I will pick you up after school & do something fun." Or just set it up from the start as "you get picked up from school 2 days this week what two do you want" and let him decide there maybe a "more difficult day" of the week that he may want mom love for. My little guy did not like mon so we always planned something "special" for that day special snack after special movie etc. Hope this helps.

Good Morning Snowbirds!! Shelley--Hang in there!! Aren't little boys just the sweetest things!!! My little girl loves me, but my boys love me more I think!:goodvibes Nah---they just need mommy in a different way. I know when they were babies the boys were more cuddly and clingy than she was. I know I was a very independant baby/toddler. I love my mom to death, but, I wasn't as lovey/cuddly as my boys are----& my daughter is the same way. She has days that she's very clingy and kissy---but for all around--my boys win!!!!

Thanks everyone for your support and suggestions! :grouphug:

I will let you know how things go today!

I was 8 and the thing that stood out the most was the Electrical Parade:wizard: PURE DISNEY MAGIC!!!

I remember riding Peter Pan and POTC , but, I don't know which was first. They are kinda stuck together in my mind!

Good question!!!

I went to WDW when I was 3, back in 1975 :scared1: , and I only have two memories of the whole trip. My ride memory was being absolutely terrified on IASW because I didn't know how deep the water was. The only other thing I remember is in the parking lot, running for the car in a downpour, water was totally dripping off my grandpa's nose! I asked my parents about that the other day and my dad said that's the only time in his life that his shirt pocket filled up with water! :rotfl:

QOTD......Name the first ride you can remember or recollect from your lifetime that you rode at WDW.

Well, I have only been going to WDW since 2005. So no childhood memories here.

We always go to Fantasyland first at MK. :goodvibes We ride Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight and It's a Small World first. Those are all great rides, but I wouldn't want to wait hours for them, by the afternoon their lines are huge!

On a brighter note ~ I am going to Disney in 20 weeks from today!!!!!

:woohoo: :yay: :cool1:  :goodvibes

Just noticed that I am 3 days behind you!!! I spelled your name wrong earlier--sorry:flower3:

Also, I am doing the surprise trip-thing as well. Isn't it a blast!!!??? Love it! This is the 4th time. They know we are going-but I think they really think it's for NEXT Halloween, not this year:laughing: So, they really don't have long to wait!

That's okay, I'll forgive you, this time!! :rotfl:

Well, honestly I am not enjoying the surprise thing!! :sad2: It is so hard!!! I don't think I'd do it again. I want to tell the kids so they can share in my excitement!! :yay: :yay: We talk about Disney all the time around here, so it is hard to not tell them we are going in just 20 weeks! I'm sure it will all be worth it on Christmas morning!! :santa: The looks on their faces will be priceless!

Wow all this back to school talk is really making me dread next year when my little guy starts kindergarten. He was in a 2 day preschool program last year and I cried like a baby dropping him off for that. He's home with me this year- preschools around here are pricey and I've started a family child care in my home so I'm basically homeschooling him. I'm a former teacher and taught first grade before my kids were born and I never understood the parent's side of the separation until I had my own children. Full day school is a huge adjustment for the little ones. In my county, even pre-k is full day which is why I didn't send him this year. I think it's so young to be there that long of a day.

You're a stronger woman than I am!!! But hopefully their faces on Christmas morning will be worth it :) Better have the camcorder ready for it:woohoo:

QOTD answer- Well seeing as I just took my first trip to disney last year at the age of 31 I know that my first "ride" was IASM. We did do Mickey's Philharmagic before that, not sure that qualifies as a ride. My DH on the other hand has been to Disney 15+ times and loves to talk about the older rides, esp. Mr Toad's.

Today is our first full day of school for DD7. Seems quiet here with only one kid! We ran errands this morning and now we are going to make some sugar cookies. My DH is in school all day, too so it's nice to get some bonding time with my "baby". How many people have stuff set aside for disney already? We get an extra check this week and i want to buy some travel size stuff and maybe order our customized shirts this week, but I wonder if it's too early.

Hope everyone has a great day. I am off to clean out our mice tanks. Why is it everyone wants the pets and mom is always the one to do the dirty work?? We have seven mice and not one of them is named Mickey. Wonder why....

Oh I already have most (if not all) of our travel size stuff ready!! :rotfl:

I'm just a little excited!! :yay:

QOTD hmm I was in Jr High School the first time I went. I think my Mom & I rode either POTC or HM first at MK & I know it was the original Figment Ride at Epcot. DH first ride ever Teacups, DS Buzzlighter over & over & over ( he was 9 mos) DD not sure she got to the happy place 2 days before us thanks to a great aunt & uncle.

First ride? Does riding IASW and Carrousel of Progress at the NY World's Fair count? (Yes, I'm dating myself!)

Going to WDW for the first time, I think our first ride, not counting the monorail, was the train around MK, just to get a bird's eye view. I think back then almost everyone took the train first!

QOTD-Well, my first ride at WDW I have no idea, but I have a few early memories.
1.Riding Figment when I was 3 and the ride breaking down in the Scary/Dark part :scared1:
2. Being terrified of Cinderella at CRT when I was 2 and my dad being soooooo mad. This was the only time I ate here.
3. Riding Slash Mountain for the first time at 9 and falling in
Other then that is all a hodge podge of memories.

OP-I totally understand about being afrad of IASW. :goodvibes My dad always told me the renovated it and add a drop :scared1: after we got on the boat!

I cannot remember my first ride at Disneyland, I was 7, and my first time to WDW was 1999 and sadly I don't remember that either! But I remember the first ride the last time we went! HAHA barnstormer. The kids loved this as their first ride!

Giving a shout out to all my Snowbird Peeps before I hit the hay. Or at least turn off the computer and wind down for the night. :cool1:

I was in Bethlehem at a seminar all day today and I'll be there again all day tomorrow. We are still without a car. We paid for our new car at the beginning of August. It's caught in governmental red tape. Gah. This is getting old. Then, before we even get it, coworkers have asked if they can borrow it on the 20th. :confused3 Brand new car. And that's a work day for us, so we won't be able to do what we need to do that day if we don't have our car.

And still, I'm feeling selfish. :sad2:

But enough unpleasantness! I'm alive and healthy. My kids are all relatively happy with school, even my little guy who started in the Arab school.:thumbsup2

Have a great rest of your day and I'll catch you on the flipside!

I'd be embarrassed to tell anyone other than my sister but I know you ladies understand my obsession.

I have a secret Rubbermaid tub that I've been stashing stuff in. Things I've picked up along the way that way it doesn't seem like I'm spending so much as the big trip gets closer. I've had all our travel stuff/toiletries for 2 months already! And they are all sorted into gallon bags according to what they are: laundry stuff, hair stuff, baby stuff, etc. I actually almost bought some juice boxes since they were on sale to set aside but they would have expired before the trip!:lmao:

Well my baby started school today and things seemed to go well. She looked a little nervous getting on bus...but was all smiles when she got home. Mommy had a few tears though.
This is her before heading to the bus
