I even think my husband is excited at this point. He's been only lukewarm up til now. I think he's happy not to have to make the 15 hour drive.

It will be nice to fly out of our local airport, only 20 minutes away. We shouldn't even have to deal with paying for parking either. We'll just park at the hangar where DH works and hopefully have one of the other pilot's drive us over to the main terminal.

So, have we decided on our Question of the Day?

Hi Everyone,

I just found this thread, a little late to the game, but thankfully I didn't completely miss it. I started reading the first few pages, but realize there's no way I'm going to make it all the way through. Are there any highlights I should be aware of?

Anyway, my husband and I will be staying at the AKL savanna view from Jan 12-19, and also (no yelling please:laughing: ) ) will be staying at Universal's Royal Pacific Resort from the 09th checking out on the 12th. It'll be our first on site visit to Universal and I'm sure it will make for an interesting review.

We just made our dining reservations yesterday:
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Hoop De Doo
50's Prime Time Cafe
Biergarten (lunch)
San Angel
Chefs de France
Chef Mickeys (Breakfast)
Kona
Artist Point

We've been to all except for Chef Mickeys and San Angel. I had originally tried to get Le Cellier but they were all booked so went for Chefs de France instead. I'm contemplating switching it for Coral Reef (which we've done and enjoyed), or Akershus or the pub (which we haven't done). The Akershus cuisine sounds nice, but it'd just be DH and I and is that weird with just princesses? We're all about character meals but this would be very girly for the husband. I would probably do Tokyo Dining but literally eat sushi several times per week at home so think it's probably a good idea to venture out a bit!

Phew...I think that brings me up to speed on this side of things! :goodvibes

Thanks for starting this thread!

By the way- any rumors about Pirates and Princess for January?? :cloud9:

WELCOME to the Snowbirds!! :goodvibes :cool1:

Hello Peach3es! :goodvibes

Hi, Shelly!

I was re-reading most of this thread last night...you are hilarious! And I can't believe you have 4 kids under the age of 10! You're my hero! :worship:

Yes...there are definitely 4 little people who call me Mama. And I call them a bunch of things. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I'm not sure I'm hilarious, but I do love to laugh!

Welcome to all the newbies to the thread! It's fun planning with you all!

So, can I be a snowbird even though I am from Texas? Or is this for only those who are official from the North!?

Snowbird just stands for winter traveler. I'm from Louisiana and I'm a snowbird!:goodvibes

I love Texas! Hoping to move there soon!

OK I will bite......Question of the day.....

Sit or lay back, close your eyes, breath in/out, travel to the Happiest Place on Earth through your mind......

Now describe where you are and what you are doing..................:cloud9:

I'll play!! :yay:

We are at CBR :lovestruc It is a cool January evening. . . DH and I are laying on a hammock by the lake watching IllumiNations and the kids are playing on the white sand beach beside us!

Can't wait!! :goodvibes

I am arriving at ASMo and watching my 4 yr. old son look up with amazement at the huge Buzz and Woody statues for the first time- they are his heroes :lovestruc I can't wait to seethe excitement!!!

Now we are at ToonTown and shaking hands with Mickey at his house!!! Another stop my kids are soooo going to love! Only 5 more months!!! :yay:

hmmm... that's a good question - I'm not sure I know enough to know what we'll be doing! I do know that, when we will be there on Sunday, it will be Brandy's birthday so she'll be wearing her button and we'll be hoping that she's having a magical day.

Other than that, finishing up our day at Animal Kingdom and wondering if we have enough energy to go to Downtown Disney [if we've followed my sketchy itinerary so far].

My Answer of the Day:

It's twilight and the sun has just dipped below the horizon. DH and I just finished a pint of half and half at the Rose & Crown and we're strolling hand in hand around World Showcase before Illuminations begins, just like we did 22 years ago this week on our first trip. :lovestruc

:welcome:

What are your dates and where are you staying???

Thanks for the welcome girls!!
We are looking for Jan 24th - Feb1st----Now I am kinda teetering back to the first week-but pretty sure this is it!! We are going to the Poly!!!!
I am probably gonna request a room in the Tokelau---just happy to be coming back. AND waiting for an awesome code!!!:woohoo:

We will be arriving just at about midnight on the 31st of December. My FDH and I are getting married at the wedding pavilion on the 5th of January. If you happen to be on the monorail around noon and see a bride with a blue sash on her dress....that'd be this kid right here!! We're staying at POP and can not wait!:bride:

It's so wonderful that you guys are still that much in love after 22 years!

So cool you are getting married in WDW! If I had it to do all over again I'd do teh same...perhaps a vow renewal is in my future:idea: !

Thanks. I still get butterflies when we kiss. I feel so lucky to have truly found the man of my dreams. Life has been tough, but as long as we're together we can tackle anything! Our Disney vacations are truly part of our magic together!  :cloud9:

1/3/03 - I turned 20 and met my prince charming at Pleasure Island
1/5/03 - Our first official date - The magic started at the Magic Kingdom
5/13/03 - He moved from Florida to Maine to be with me
October 2007 - After the wishes fireworks show he made me the happiest girl in "the world" and proposed
November 2008 - We are going to finalize our wedding plans
January 5th, 2009 - We will be married at Disney's Wedding Pavilion at noon

Wow Mindy, that is the most magical story I've ever heard! You are forever bound to Disney World. Congratulations and all the best in your marriage. I wish we were going to be there to see you. (How about a lime green Mickey head on your sash ;) )

We will be in the world from Jan 24th - 31st staying at AKV.

We definitely are snowbirds since we will probably have about 8ft of snow on our lawn at that time of year!! :goodvibes
