I loved the last trip we had in Jan! But I know we most likely won't have the weather we had then. We left terrible ice storms in Oregon and had 70-80 degrees every day except our last one in WDW. I keep reminding myself that it will not be like that again. :) Don't want to be disappointed. :) But really~ leaving icky rain and snow for some sun no matter how little is so nice!

Gillettes~ We are doing Chef Mickey's on the 17th too, we'll be there at 6:15 for dinner! Maybe we'll run into you?!?!

I've been MIA from here a while but still catching up via the email update.
I'm now debating if we'll try to conceive #3 while in Disney, I may be content with our 2......I have a few months.

I've still not bought from Disney shopping....I've had stuff in my cart a few times but not purchased....I just got a promo that starts next week so I'll pull the trigger then. I'm afraid the shirts won't fit the kiddos in Jan. so I think that's why I haven't puchased yet. Great deals though.

Gotta run...

Hang out with us, of course - we have all sorts of fun here, it's like Disneyworld already....

Glad to hear another vote for January - the more I read, the happier I am that we're going then.

Yep January is the time to go.....shhhhh don't tell anyone else our little secret......:rotfl:

Even before we bought into DVC I decided I would pull out my children from school (at least the early years) in January to go then. You get so much more out of it instead of hot, humid and crowded summer/holidays. I have even started working on extra WDW project lesson plans I expect my DD to complete for school in addition to her regular work when the time comes she is in school. Education and learning does not have to stop at the steps of the schoolhouse.

Speaking of learning and experiences.......Some have listed here they will be partaking in opportunities/tours while there in January.......What are others thinking of doing. I listed before I will be booking for DH the Aqua Seas tour as a Christmas/10th anniversary present.

In the past DH and I have taken part in the Keys to the Kingdom tour, Lunch with an Imagineer (Brown Derby), Saratoga Springs Spa and last January the VIP tour guide (that was a once in a lifetime experience thanks to a dear friend and the Meadowlands Casino, if you ever get a windfall outside of your regular trip money, book it, we covered every stage show and major attraction in 2 parks in one day). DD did BBB last January now that she was finally old enough......and for tea lovers, Afternoon tea at the GF is like no other, exquisite.

January is a good time to try and book things due to lower crowds. WDW I feel does a good job in offering experiences you may want to try but never take the chance to do them at home. Sooooo what are YOU going to do.......?

In anticipation of the American Idol Attraction opening in January, has anybody picked out their audtion songs yet......I can't decide if I should go all Liza Minelli with Cabaret or 80's pop singing "My Baby takes the morning train.......":rolleyes1

Hello! :goodvibes

I know, I think the ADR's are driving us all nuts! I could book most of mine, but not all because of the new system. On top of that we are now arriving a night earlier, so that means 1 more TS if we do the DDP. (which I am leaning towards today :rotfl: ) We really want to try the new T-Rex restaurant in DTD, but aren't sure if it will even be on the DDP. :confused3

We want to try the new T-Rex place, too. I'm thinking that would be a good restaurant to try on our arrival night.
DD (3.5) looked at the pics and was a little scared.. but I know ds would love it. I hope it's not too scary.

I was going to go there too but my DS4 had been to a few animated dino shows in the last year and always flipped out. So I got rid of my Rainforest GC. But this weekend we went to a great animated Dino walk at the zoo and he did great. So now I am thinking of adding it back in for a lunch. Now that all my dinner ADRs are set.

When is the Dino Restaurant supposed to open? We were there in June and we looked at the billboard there but forgot the date.

Is there an actual date yet? We are going mid Jan so maybe we'll be lucky?!?

It is scheduled I believe for November. So hopefully it will be open for January. :rotfl:

Is anyone else having a really tough time with their itinerary?
The whole thing is giving me a headache. Which days to go to which park? Avoid EMHs or aim for them? Ugh.
Plus, the night I'd like to see Spectro is the night we're in Epcot with LeCellier ADRs. I think I've made a whole big mess out of our itinerary :(

I know how you feel!! I finally just went by whatever dates Spectro and Fantasmic were.....changed my ADRs accordingly....and gave up! Whatever happens now, happens, and we will have fun no matter what!!! I am, however, keeping my fingers crossed from Park Hopping upgrades....

Tropigal-

How cool! We will have to "talk" closer to the time. I have never eaten there for dinner but love the breakfast. Here are some more pics, this time my kids with characters.

Hello! It just occurred to me that I should be attending a conference in Tampa in January that ends on a Thursday evening. I am giving serious consideration to not coming home until Monday of the following week and taking Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a mini-trip to WDW. I was just doing some quick noodling in my head last night and I could drive to WDW first thing Friday morning, stay at a value resort Friday - Sunday nights, and then turn around and drive back to Tampa Monday to fly home. Hmmm...

Any time that an opportunity to go to Disney presents itself, one MUST take it!

Welcome to the Snowbirds of January! Nice to see another PA person here. There are 4 others, I think.

I agree with you both. We replanned our ADRs due to the fanatasmic poor schedule, and now I look at my days and I feel like we are jumoing all over the place. I am a sequential person and our last trip went so well I wanted to follow the same plan. Mind you then I didn't know 25% of what I know now, maybe knowledge isn't helping me ;) This trip we are going an extra 3 days and I feel like we won't get in what I want!

DH and DM want the DlxDP so I feel like our whole trip is planned around food - LOL. I don;t mind either way - Dlx seems to work better for our family, but geesh all this planning is crazy, as much as i love it, I can't beleive all the stresses and replanning I have done!

Morning Snowbirds!

Hope everyone is having a restful and relaxing Sunday Morning.

Just ordered my Baggallini for our trip! I'm so ready to go!

Good Morning All:wave2:

How is everyone's weekend going? I've been busy myself, had to have the carpets cleaned on Friday and had to put all the furniture back yesterday after they dried.

So we did a dvc tour in Jan, and we almost bought it the day we left, got home and it wasn't mentioned much after a couple weeks. Friday DH mentioned it, needless to say I was shocked but immediately full of disney excitment:banana: DH said he wants to do another tour when we are there in Jan if he doesn't buy before then :woohoo: He said he is weighing the pros and cons "very seriously". I never saw it coming! Any snowbird DVC memebers? I guess I'll have to go lurk around the DVC boards

BTW, what is a baggallini? I've heard of them, and I assume it is a purse/backpack with lots and lots of storage. Anyone have a link or pics of one? Have a great day snowbirds!

I've only been a DVC member since May 2007, but I'm loving it so far. Let me know if you have any questions. I started out with the minimum of 160 points, but I've already added additional points twice. I now have 260 points.

SplashMTNcrew- I am a January Snowbird and proud DVC member. Have been since 2006. Jan 2009 will be my 3rd DVC January trip and my 4th January trip overall. If you have any questions, please fire away. I will be happy to help.

Just checkin' in with my snowbirds!:cheer2:

We were out for a picnic. The kids got filthy, so I just finished up baths. Nothing too exciting. But I did get to share with others that we booked our Disney vacation! That was fun to talk about! I'm just so darn excited!:woohoo:

What's new with all of you?
~~Carrie
