If you could only eat at ONE restaurant while you were at Disney, which would it be and why?

I've been thinking about this and it's really tough to choose. We're eating at several places that I've never been to and I'm really looking forward to them all. If I could only pick one, I think it would have to be Le Cellier. If I could only pick one character meal, I think it would have to be Crystal Palace.

Oooh, EMH hours! Yay!

I always get a bit confused with the evening magic hours. Is the park always open 3 hours later than the posted time? Or is it sometimes less than that? Hmm.

I'm very sad... I just went to see The X-Files movie which we bought tickets for online weeks ago. We got to the cinema and they told us the session had been cancelled!! Booooooo! No explanation, nothing! We did get our money back, but that's not the same as being able to see Mulder on the big screen tonight again after so many years.

Anyway. At least I'm going to Disney World in January!! Heee.

Good Morning Snowbirds!!!

I can't believe how much I've missed! 15 pages since the last time I was able to check this thread and I've only read 8 of them and stopped when I read that the hours and prices were out

I never got a chance to post, but my grandfather did pass away last Friday , so we had to go to TN for 5 days and just got home last night. I've got so much to catch up on here Talk about being a day late and a dollar short! I must admit this though, while on our way home yesterday, I started wondering if the hours for Jan and all that other info would be out I'm guilty!

I will read through the thread today as I can, and welcome to any new Snowbirds that I haven't met yet

We were told when we booked (months ago!) that prices and packages won't come out until mid August. In Disney-speak, that means maybe September sometime.

When I called last week to make my "room only" ressie the CM told me that the 2009 rates wouldn't be out until Sept/Oct. Sure hope she was wrong!

We are officially staying at Poly for Jan 24-29th ! Made room only ressies. Actually tried making room only ressies for CR and they are booked up for standard rooms ...even in Feb for the week before Pres day! Crazy...last year I made CR ressies in Oct for Jan no problem with MK view. We are very excited eventhough we are spending a little more on our rooms...we really wanted a monorail resort.

With the number of rooms at WDW, does anyone else think it is strange that rooms are not available for January - the lowest season of the year for crowds? I do not think they are being honest about room availability. Has anyone checked to book online - it always seems that you can find rooms on www.waltdisneyworld.com that don't pop up when you call.

I am so happy that the hours are eventually available. Now I am waiting with you for the rates, 'cause we will book the rooms when the AAA rates are out.

Nope, we had to go preferred. That's okay with me, though, maybe being closer will offer less opportunity for whining from the DDs.

I think often they have big (huge) groups/conventions that block off a whole bunch of rooms, and then don't end up reserving them all. Therefore they seem booked in theory, but aren't really. And then at the cut-off date, the rooms they don't need open up again.

Yes, I think it is very strange. And I am pretty sure they aren't being entirely honest too. But, I also think Trixie is right, groups and conventions and even AAA and other travel agents reserve "blocks" of rooms at a time so they will have them incase they need them, then eventually they will become available again.

As for booking online, I have always booked our whole package online in the past. But since the 2009 rates aren't out yet, we can't even check availability online yet.
