I love the fact that no matter when I check the boards, this thread is always listed under the countdown section as the most recent post!

It's just great - I feel like we're all friends. Let's see if we can set up some meets, either at resorts or parks in Jan. I'd love to just stop by and say Hi for a few minutes with all of you!! :grouphug:

Just felt like sharing! I'm off to bed - have a great night all you obsessive, reading everything Snowbirds.

Meets would be great! I see you are at the ASMu, we will be at ASMo- I am sure there may be some times we are at the guitar pool, my DD loved this pool !

Hey, there, snowbirds! Good morning! It's mid-afternoon here, and I've already put in half a day of work!:thumbsup2

I'm getting anxious to hear the prices! I just read somewhere that ticket prices come out on the 3rd, but package prices don't come out until the 7th! I'm dying here!

I'm still trying to decide which building to request at Pop Century. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! We're looking to be close to the Classic Hall and a parking lot. I'm leaning towards the 70s building, since it's the one we're most interested in theme-wise. HELP!:worship:

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned!

~~Carrie

No 2009 rates today. :sad2:

Maybe next week! :wizard:

Anyone have big plans for the weekend? :goodvibes Other than obsessing about their January trip! :rotfl:

Shelly - I know i looked for rates too this morning and NOTHING.... maybe the 3rd. Some people said that date so hopefully... let's see what happens...

Hi AussieAngel! I was just reading this and wanted to let you know that I live in New York and work in Times Square! If you are coming to the city and need any advice just let me know! And, YES it will be VERY cold here in January!

Ooh, wow! Thanks!

Here's my first question then... I know it will be cold, but will there definitely be snow in January? It would be kind of exciting if there was, since we hardly see it here in Australia (except for up the mountains, of course!).

In other news, we have an update on the mouse in our house! DH saw him run into our garage last night, so we have made sure he can't get back into our house. Hopefully he'll stay out!! Our cat would rather lie on the couch and watch the mouse run across the floor, than actually having to do any work. Heh.

I hope the dining plan doesn't change too much! We really want to do the deluxe plan! popcorn::

There should be snow in NY in January!

Just read this on touringplans.

2009 resort rates starting to appear...
For value and moderate resorts, standard rooms during value season in 2009 appear to cost the same as 2008. There's a slight increase in preferred rooms at value resorts - $3. Water-view and king-bed moderates look like they'll set you back $10 more than in 2008.

Standard disclaimer: We could be completely wrong. Your mileage may vary. For external use only. No user-servicable parts inside.

That seems like good news!

That's interesting. . . . Wonder where they are getting that???

Hope it's true! :wizard: I wondered if they would possibly leave the room rates the same or close to the same with the way the economy is. . .

They'll probably make up the difference with the DDP price! :lmao:

:scared1: AirTran's flights dropped to $85 today! What should I do??? They still have no morning non-stop flights down. . . Should I buy a flight back and hope for a good flight time down with SW???

Has anyone ever flown with 2 different airlines on one trip?

85 bucks, Shelly, that's a good buy!!

You do not want to know how much I paid to fly from Iowa.:(

To answer your question, no I've never flown on 2 airlines in the same trip.

No, we haven't ever done 2 different airlines. How do your boys do with the flights? Would another take-off/landing bother them? Are the times good? Because $85 each way is really good! Another DIS'er always books her flights as two one-ways instead of one round trip in case she has to change, just makes it easier. Wow, that's a really hard decision! Good luck!

Make sure that the AirTran fare is not "one-way based on round-trip ticket purchase." Sometimes you can't get the "come on" fare if you're only booking a one-way ticket.

I'm so confused!! The boys do pretty good with the flights. That's why I don't want to mess with it and have the hassle of stopping. The non-stop flights are only 2 hours, if we stopped the time increases to 4-8 hours. . .

So the earliest non-stop is at 12:50pm. Arriving in Orlando around 3:00. It's been my experience that from the time you land at Orlando to the time you get to your resort (using Magical Express) is approx. 1 1/2 hours. . . That would not put us at CBR until 4:30. We have dinner at Park Fare at 5:10. So that would have to be changed and basically the whole first day would be shot. So, ???

I don't think I'll do better than $85 flights though. . . . I will have to call DH and see what he thinks. But he usually tells me to do whatever I think is best. :confused3

Just got back from AAA (I have used this agent for many years and for me, it just works better having her do all the legwork). Gave her our dates (1/22 - 1/26), our choice of resort (CSR), and she'll do the rest. I knew the package rates weren't out yet, but she was told either early next week or around the 15th. We prefer to fly Southwest, so those aren't available yet either. Now, it's time to start getting excited seeing I finally made a decision - LOL! Thanks for all of your suggestions - we really wanted to try a new resort, so hopefully the knee will be OK by then. I did request either Casitas 1 or Cabanas 9 as our choice of locations. I guess I'll be a regular visitor here now, so I will have to figure out how to add all of those cute features like the smileys and the other icons everyone has on their posts!
