January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part I !!!

I'm so jealous of the ADRs. Making mine Friday, unless the system changes by then. Has anyone booked anything on the 25th or later (another supposed cut-off date)???

I'm jealous too Trixie! But Friday is our day!!!!! Finally!

We should have a little contest to see who can get their ADR's first on Friday morning!!

Now, you do realize that I'm not a morning person, right? But you'd better believe I will be dialing my phone at 6:59 a.m. I hope the CMs are used to dealing with groggy people because I haven't been up that early since school got out! I'd probably do better if I just stayed up all night!

I know, I am NOT a morning person either! But unfortunately the kids have had swimming lessons and summer reading programs for the past several weeks very early! So most of the summer I've had to get up early.

Luckily this Friday they have nothing. So I will keep them up late Thursday night so they will sleep in Friday and not hear me making our ADR's at 6:59AM!

Well it starts that I check the park hours friday at 5 pm, just before we go away for the weekend. Our ADR day was Sunday And YES we were away for the weekend. DH promised me we'd be home at noonish to make the ressies.

Well 5pm Friday- No hours posted. Fine so we'll stick to my itinerary!

We get in the house today noonish and call WDW, get straight through and make all our ADR for the places and times we want- Lucky Us!

Our last meal was to be a Fantasmic Dinner Pkge. The CM tells us Fantasmic is not available that night All right so we book the dinner get off the phone and log on line only to see the hours posted !!!

So I panic . DH and I sit and review the hours, our plans do NOT work with the fantasmic or spectro schedule and these are 2 must dos for our trip! We wanted this trip to be just like our last trip only longer! Well it didn't look like it, so time for change. We spend a good 2 hours re arranging our plans, trying to keep the best ressies we have. I keep reminding DH of the things we missed last time and what we wanted to accomplish this time. This trip it appears we have booked all these MK days and I am trying to figure out why???!!! Then with logic I justify it to myself, DD's BBB and wonderland tea party experience - so this takes away from our park time and results in us having to go back- sounds good right ? lol

So after our NEW plan is scratched out on paper we call WDW back, to rebook and cancel some meals. In the end we were able to do just that, but not without my panic attack and DH's patience.

We are planning on the Deluxe DP as there are so many wonderful meals we want to try. I truly hope we have made the right decisions.

I had spent a good month planning the original itinerary ( parks and restaurants only), that I was so disappointed to have all my forecasting of park hours etc wrong!

So to list the restaurants we have picked:

I know we will have "too much" food but we aren't here to stuff ourselves , we are here to try new things and experience new places, as well this may be the last trip before DD turns adult age limit

Instead of our anticipated start and finish with Fantasmic, we will start and finish with Wishes.

We were able to book up to the 25th, that is our last night at WDW. We do have to wait until the exact 180 day for Yak and Yeti.

For those following other threads, the only news about adding restaurants we got was about T Rex.

So now to plan our daily details, but for now my head hurts after the hours posting and our days changing!

Well, at least you had some extra fun and it sounds like everything worked out in the end. It looks like you have some great places to eat. My SIL (Amreli) and I had to redo our schedule and rework some of our ADL's too, once the hours came out. Now, waiting for the EMH's

Good Morning fellow Snowbirds (being from Texas, I can't say I've ever been called that before)

I just woke up in a particularly good mood this morning. Only 1 week until I can make (at least) 1 ADR Not sure if I'll be able to make the ones after the 25th or not.

Welcome Natalie! When are your dates? We'll be there the 24-31. We seriously considered AKL but decided on WL. I've wanted to stay there for SO long and we thought the kids would prefer it. Next time, we may do AKL though.
