I am curious about this comparison too. I haven't been at the end of Jan before, I was there a few years ago on MLK weekend. It was slightly busier than Sept., with FP machines open, and some lines at the 60 minute mark later in the day, but we didn't wait more than 20 for any ride, and most of the FP rides were walk on. I assume it would be better than MLK at the end of Jan, though. So here's a bump! Anyone else????

We were there in Feb. '05 (actually the first of February), and crowds were very manageable. THe weather can bea little iffy though, we went from buying lightweight Tshirts one day to putting on every available layer two days later. I kid you not, I wore silk long john pants and cashmere sweaters for all but our arrival day and first full day at YC! The funny part was I bought a lightweight tee in the gift shop and then never was able to wear it because of the weather shift! SO be prepared and watch the weather forcast on up till the day of your trip!

For all you folks subscribing do you know that there's an option for doing that without posting anything?

Look at the top of the page under "thread tools." The last option is "subscribe to this thread." You will only be able to see it if you haven't posted to the thread.

These threads are long enough and adding all those subscribings just makes them longer.

Thanks Mary2e! I was searching for that very answer. I checked the box for instant e-mail notif. instead of daily e-mail notif....I hope that was correct. I'm new to all this, but you all really help the learning process. Thanks!

I usually don't get emails. I think instant email will notify you every time someone posts since the last time you logged in. I'm not sure though.

I just found the charts on the Mousesavers website that show the historical release dates for most discount codes. It goes back to 2004, and shows that that the Jan. codes are usually released in the end of October or early November. Unfortunately, it looks like our wait may be a bit longer, but on the positive side there was a discount code for January each year since 2004. Now we just have to keep our finger crossed for a decent discount.

I am confused. Are codes and PINs the same thing? I get mailings time to time with PINs in them but usually only once or twice a year. When people talk about PINs on here, is that something only specific to them?

We have a split stay planned. 5 days at Pop and 5 days at Poly, beginning January 24th. If something is released, would I be able to use at both resorts?

Yes, pins can only be used by the person receiving them. They are non-transferable. They are sent out randomly based on the marketing dept.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how the weeks before and following these events will affect crowds? We're thinking of a trip at the end of Jan, but I'm not sure if Jan 21-25 or Jan 28-Feb 1 would be better.
