January 2008 Code Watch

OOOO I would love a code! We are planning a 10 day disney trip sometime in January, waiting for packages to come out and schedules to firm up!

I wish us all luck!

Wonderful Weeks are times when Disney considers it to be smaller crowds. DM and I went in March during one of these weeks, and it was great, a really slow time! This year's weeks are posted on the WDW website.

ahh gotcha! thanks! i'm looking at it now!! yay!! right when my friends and i are planning on going! hehehe! i feel bad because i don't have anything booked yet. my friends can't decide if they'll have enough money yet...argh, this is bugging me... i need to make reservations so i have something set in stone!!!

Okay, Disney experts--I'm a little slow at this code stuff. Can someone take me step by step through this process?
-Does it make sense to book a room now, then try to apply the code when it comes out?
-What if the code is for a different hotel? Can I switch resorts in order to get the discount?
Thanks so much for all the help I get here!

It definetly makes sense to book a room now and then try to get the code applied when it is released.

OF course, there's always a chance that the code may not be available for the particular resort or room type you have reserved, in which case you definetly can switch resorts to get the discount! Just don't forget to cancel the original ressie after you've made your new one!

See now...... you aren't as slow as you thought you were! You're a natural!

How soon in advance do AP codes usually come out? We are going in September & my plan is to upgrade my 1 day base ticket (that I bought to get free dining) to an annual pass. I just wonder if I might miss the AP discount window by waiting until then.

We only need to reserve 2 nights anyway (room only) as the remainder of our trip is at BWV. BUT--I would really like to surprise everyone by staying at AKL instead of a moderate.

Thanks!!

I think you'll have your AP before the codes come out, but if you don't there's no problem. As long as you have an AP when you check in you'll be fine.

Quick question(s):

I only stuck my head in breifly on the 40% off code nonsense (I try to avoid certain sections of DIS when I don't have a trip in the works...I get insanely jealous).

Was the code ever offered to the public...or did it stay as an individual offer? Anyone ever figure out how they selected the "chosen ones"? Anyone have a rough idea what dates the code was good for?

So, only a ticket offer was on special last Jan? How disappointing..we'll probably get APs again.

Thanks!

Ok..there were other discounts available. There was one for specially priced dining packages for disney visa holders and there was this one for AP holders:

(announced Nov. 1st) Disney has released room-only discounts, at select resorts, for Annual Passholders vacationing between January 1 - February 14, 2007. Discounts include select Value Resorts for $59+, Moderate Resorts from $99+ and Deluxe Resorts from $135+ per night.

I really hope they offer this one again!!!! We might go moderate...heck even deluxe is lookin good. :woohoo:

The only disappointment is having to wait so long to find out.:guilty:

So what have all the January 08 Diser taken care of so far? Booked airfare? Rental car? Room?

I haven't done a thing, just kind of holding out to see if any specials come along for any of them and it's driving me crazy!

I don't have a Disney VISA, really don't want an additional card, but wondering if it's worth it to get just in case there are deals out there just specifically for card holders. Not to mention, booking the trip on there, earning rewards and then paying it off.

So far we have our air booked. Found a pretty good deal N/S from Milwaukee to Orlando for $178pp. Also, we had a credit of $141 for a ticket our son ended up not using so we applied that to our purchase. So, it's $647 for all 4 of us to fly :thumbsup2 Not too bad. Waiting until package rates come out. I'm getting anxious, but it's probably better the rates aren't out yet seeing as I can't decide ASMo or ASMU family suite :confused3

I booked air! I also booked rooms with AAA!

I go the Disney Visa and have earned $43 disney dollars so far and its only been two months. It came with no interest for one year. I pay for gas - food- extras and then pay in full when the bill comes. I hope to have around $100 before I leave in Jan. I got $15 just for using it once!

How does the Visa card work...what percent do yo get back?

When do you get your disney dollars and what will you use them for? Tiffany

We have our room booked... Jan. 4-12 at CSR! We have our flights purchased as well. They were both done 2 months ago! So I am going crazy for something else to do!!! 1 more month and I can make my ADR's... 2-3 more months and packages will be out... 5 more months and I can hope for discounts!!!!!!!!!!

I got the Disney Visa after last year's trip. I am planning on booking with this and paying it off... and then DH wants a tropical vacation next, so we are looking at a week at Beaches in Jamacia. (About the same cost as Disney for us!!). Then back to Disney the following year. I am hoping to have enough on the card to pay for Air or tickets or something big! I am also hoping for a special card members discount! But we'll see. There are better reward cards out there... but none as fun.

*** YOu get 1% of dollars spent in "Disney Dollars".***

Going Jan 1-5 then sailing on the Magic for 7 days!!! Can't wait. Waiting for some great code to use. Probably staying at Pop, on site for the first time!
