It's official, we have decided to do a WDW vaction January 10-19, 2008. :cool1:

I know it's a year away but it's something to look forward too!!! Yoo Hoo!

I am checking the Disney website everyday to see when they start booking packages for 2008. I can't wait to book.

We are planning on booking a Savannah view room at AKL.

Is anyone with me?

Hoping but don't know :confused3 That first weekend (10th) is the new weekend for the Marathon/Half Marathon. We've gone last three, but they have made it a week later now, and kids are back to school. Lots of events already going on that weekend, so I'm not sure why they moved it. :sad2:

What is that? Marathon/half Marathon? Does it get really busy in the parks? I have one son and he will be in 2nd grade. We planned to be right in line with Martin Luther King Jr. holiday so he will not miss as much school. We figure this will be the last year we can cut into his school schedule and his activities. So we are taking advantage!

Hard to say....with the move it may discourage families from coming and maybe only the runners coming in for long weekend. That is what we will do if we come. 30,000 runners. Look at www.disneyworldmarathon.com.

Sunday will be the full marathon and they will be running through all four parks and roads. Slows transportation alittle and I would probably avoid EPCOT because it starts and finishes there. Half on Saturday isn't a big impact to parks, only MK and EPCOT and it is usually done by 10am. They'll be gone after Sunday and you will have it all to yourself :thumbsup2

We were there in '96 for the marathon when it was not so big. Road closures were a nightmare. I can't even imagine it now!

We were planning on Jan 13-19, but will have to adjust if that is during the marathon weekend. We will probably do 2 nights at Vero Beach and 3 at SSR through DVC.

Me,DH and DD will be going jan 1-7 2008. we are camping at fort wilderness.
i can hardly wait!!:cool1:  :yay: :cheer2:

DH,DS and I are also planning on going Jan 1-7 2008. We are definitely staying on a WDW resort but haven't decided which one.

I remember a biking marathon of some sort the last week in September when we were there last! I really don't think the marathon will change our minds. I will have to talk it over with DH. We picked January becuase it is usually slower in the parks and the weather is more tolerable.

Not to mention it is value season so you get good rates!

I can't wait to book I just want it to be final! It's nice to see I am not the only nut planning a year in advance!:cool1:

We're hoping to go at the end of January/beginning of February. A lot depends on when the Pirate & Princess Party scheduled dates are (if they have it again).

We're planning to stay at the Port Orleans Riverside. I can't wait for dates to make my ressies!

I just booked us 2 weeks off-site at the Sheraton Vistana from Jan 25 unti Feb 8!:cool1: Another wonderful time expexcted. Let the planning begin!:thumbsup2

Dh and I have been looking for land to purchase to build our dream house. It is very hard to come by and can be expensive. We found a 6 acre lot for $40,000 (a little more than we wanted to spend) and we were getting ready to make the big purchase. I got a little sad because this ment we to put off our January trip to help pay for the land.

Then all of a sudden DH was talking to a friend that knew an ailing farmer in the area that wanted to sell off his 50 acre lot. We only really need a couple of acres so when the farmer is feeling better we are going to approach him to purchase 5 acres for $20,000. If this works out then our trip won't get canceled.

So, far the trip is still on!!!!!:cool1:
