is anyone planning to go within these dates?
we have not booked anything yet but it is likely we will go around this time for a short trip.
ive never been in january.
how are the crowds early January? are they mad, moderate, or normal?

It might be kinda crowded this coming January 2-7. Our kids don't go back to school from the holiday break until January 7th, so I'll assume that's the case for many other schools as well.

The holiday decorations, shows, parades, etc. will be running through January 6, which is an indication that *Disney* expects it to be pretty busy. You'll find it to be a lot less crowded if you wait until after the 6th.

I'd say very crowded! We'll be there. We have reservations already, but I'm still checking and finding some hotels starting to be sold out (BWPPI).

We'll be there January 3rd through the 8th at the WL. According to the Unofficial Guide, the crowd levels on a scale from 1-10 (10 being elbow to elbow) are projected to be 6's and 7's. Not great but still better than when we went in June (all 9's).

Sorry - But after I read the forum info a little better I discovered you all were talking about DL and not WDW. But in all things Disney, the crowd levels will in all probabliliy stand true.

Just my opinion, but I'd expect crowds to be more like 8's & 9's for both DL & WDW. It's going to be very crowded with many schools being out that entire week. But, we'll be there! So, obviously I'm not saying to stay away. Just be prepared for crowds (& be pleasantly surprised if it's not crowded).
