January 18, 2014 FANTASY 7 Day Western!

Hi ;) I will be on the cruise - I have to look up out number room. This is our 3rd cruise and I love it! I have an almost 11 yr boy and almost 8 girl. Both are worried about making friends... Me and my husband and kids are super excited!

Our DD7 (considers herself 8 plus!) is really looking forward to making some new friends too.

We just joined this cruise today. Our older daughter, Christina, was recently hired by DCL as Cruise staff and will be sailing on the Fantasy. We can't wait to see her on board. She has grown up on Disney and the DCL ships.

Cabin #1 - Bob & Patty Cabin #5534
Cabin #2 - Wilma (MIL) and our Daughter Michelle Cabin #5536

Michelle will have graduated College just days before we sail so Big Celebration onboard. We will also be celebrating seeing Christina! YEA!!

I will catch up on the posts and respond to the requests shortly. I need to check with family on FE participation.

That's so great! Your one daughter working in the ship and your other graduating college. I'm also graduating in December. Finishing in the fall is a but different but the vacation deals that time are year make celebrating a lot easier to manage. :-)

Sounds like you're going to have a lot to celebrate this time around!
Can't wait to hear any tips and tricks you might have for everyone being well seasoned cruisers!

I have added you to the "who is cruising with us" list :cool1:
We also have a meet up and FE list going so just let me know if you want to be a part of either of them :) Also feel free to post pics of your cruise party or previous trip photos! I'm linking them to everyones name so we can keep an eye out for all of the DISers onboard :goodvibes

Thanks Megan & A LittleMAd! We are definitely up for meet & greet:thumbsup2. We are still debating FE's this time. We will decide shortly. We have never cruised on this short notice with DCL due to our DVC Points. Flights & pre-hotels booked last night.:cheer2:
We haven't been on the Fantasy before, but this will be our 8th Cruise with DCL. I'm hoping for some inside Fantasy tips :tinker:after my daughter joins the crew. If you have any questions, please ask. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Just booked this cruise last night with the new VGT rates. Dh is not going, but it will be and my two DS's 10( 2 weeks shy of 11 and he will spend the entire cruise in the Edge), and a 9 year old who I'm sure will be in the Edge during every open house.

This is our 5th Dcl cruise and first time on the Fantasy. Very excited.

Welcome!! :banana::banana:

Sounds like you will get a lot of relaxation time on this trip with the boys off at the kids clubs :rotfl: Oooh GTY rates are out, guess that means we might have few more people join our group within the next few days, exciting!

We have a FE and meet up list going at the moment so feel free to join in on them! (links in the 1st post on page 1).

We will be joining the cruise and are very excited. I will be with my two sons age 8 and 6. This will be the first cruise for all of us. Excited to start planning and packing. I am brand new to this board so I will be doing lots of reading in the next couple of days to start planning our trip. :)

Thanks for the Welcome. This will be our first vacation without Dh.:sad1: He has 2 weeks off in March, but has been working out of town a lot and wants to chill at home instead of going anywhere. The VGT rates came out for January, and he gave his blessing for the the kids and I to go so I moved our 4 night cruise and Universal trip in March to a 7 night in cruise in January. We are planning on another cruise in October so I'm hoping things settle down at work for him so he can go.

The kids still want to go to Universal of course. Rates at the resorts are pretty good in January, and Universal tickets are a nothing compared to WDW(especially with Dh not going). The only thing standing in my way from going to Universal is car rental prices.:sad2: I've never paid more than 125.00 a week for a car rental in Orlando. I'm hoping after Thanksgiving prices will drop.

If anybody's gotten any car rental coupons please share.

Congrats on your first cruise. You will love it. I couldn't get my boys out the Oceaneers lab at that age. If your looking for some peace, quiet and relaxation you've picked the right vacation. Cruises are the perfect mix of "family time" and "adult time".

I always make a "back up" reservation a ways out. Then about a month before I start typing in ridiculously low rates on priceline and bidding that way. I have always ended up with a rental way below published rates. But you have to be patient and know what the going rates are. I have not used this for Orlando yet, but have had great luck in LA, Chicago, Pittsburgh, etc.

---

ETA - Dollar Rent a Car has some good deals right now. Used my AAA discount and got a full size car for 13 and change a day for the 4 days before our cruise (and it is a one-way rental). The dollar at PC has a shuttle to the port. Hope that helps!

The rates are so high right now I won't even bother with a back up. I usually pay 125.00 a week in Orlando. All I'm finding is rates close to 300.00. I'll take the DCL transfer before I'll pay that.

Thanks for the Dollar tip I'll check it out.

We'd love to meet up on the first day, I had some computer issues and had to change my Dis Login it is now goofypjmom instead of goofymom4pj. Family traveling together: Jack, Vickie, Patrick, and Timothy under my login and then "Alittlemad" - Patty is traveling with Dani and Alyssa.

Thanks for the tip. I was a able to reserve a car through Dollar. 93.00 total for the three nights before the cruise. P/U at MCO and dropping off at PC. I was also able to rent a car at PC back to MCO for 42.00. I think this will work out well, and I won't have to pay for parking.

If anybody's interested the code I used is 5C11M.

Thanks for the Dollar rental car tip. We were able to book one-way back to WDW as well. Rental rates in FL are really high this time around for our normal car rentals. Travel details are coming together!

It's nice to have that part done. I still haven't figured out what were doing pre-cruise. I did not renew our WDW AP's. I want to spend one night at a WDW resort so I can book a BB for Oct. We might want to go to the F&W after our Oct cruise.
I prefer Universal when it's hot. I love the water rides there. Not sure I want to go there in January.:scratchin We haven't been to SeaWorld. If SeaWorld extends their 50.00 weekday tickets to January. I think we might do that. If not we may just hang out at a WDW resort, go miniature golfing, visit DDD etc. We are all pretty sick of the WDW parks after 3 trips last year.

Ofinn,

I noticed your are from So Cal. Where about? We are from Chino Hills. We will lay low on Friday night and pick up our provisions for Saturday trip to port.

Hi all! My mom and I will be on the Jan. 18 cruise and would love to meet up the first day. We're so excited for the cruise and the warmer weather!

This is our 2nd Disney cruise - we were on the Dream two years ago and decided we wanted to try the longer cruise.
