Well, I ran/walked (mostly walked) my first 5k this morning! I need to pick up the pace, but that wasn't do bad at all! If anyone on here is using runkeeper to train let me know, I'll add you as a friend!

Nicely done! I just downloaded runkeeper

Ok, I've made a Facebook group for us, please join! It's another way to keep in touch and share news/photos/excitement all that jazz.

:cool1:

Have a great weekend!

Oh, p.s. my FB picture is green because of the VFX protest, I'm not an ogre or something. :thumbsup2

We have seen your pic and know you are not an Ogre! Awesome job on the running/walking. You are that much better than everyone else that didn't workout today. (I fall into that group:rotfl2:)

i have requested access to the fb group
it is neal howell

Sorry, that's done now, I was out shopping! It's an open group, I thought that would be fine, but for whatever reason I still have to approve people. I promise to get to them as soon as I can!

Is anyone planning on going to WDW before or after the cruise?

I'd really like to go to WDW before the cruise, but I think, because our flights are so crappy, we will have to make a trip to WDW after the cruise. We're planning on staying at the Contemporary.

:tinker: 45 more fridays

Oh! The time will fly by!

Awesome. Joining now :)

I know a few people have already expressed their interest in the meet up so I am going to start an official list to keep on top of names and numbers. Please could you comment if you're interested in going to the meet up and let me know how many in your party will be attending. I will update the "Who's cruising with us" post so we can keep track of how big the meet up group is getting. :cool1:
The meet up will be a great experience, finally meeting everyone on the thread. It will also be where we add final room changes to the FE list for people who upgrade at the port etc (although if you cant make it to the meet up, Rhiannon and I will keep an up to date FE list on our door throughout the cruise)

This is all getting very exciting! :mickeyjum
I love the pictures, keep them coming. It will make it much easier to spot the DISers once we get onboard

Cant wait to meet you all! :goodvibes

Our family of 4 would love to meet everyone at the meet up! (me, dh, ds4, and dd2)

Requested Fb access today. I've been thinking if doing the 5k but not really a long distance runner. It would be a good way to get in shape though so I'm gonna try for it.
We did the 4 days wdw and 4 day cruise last year and decided it was better with longer cruise.

Sorry, I know it's a pain, I'll approve it as soon as I get home from work! :)

I would never consider myself to be a long distance runner, In fact up until a few weeks ago I truly despised it. But I've been sticking to this training plan, and I'm actually finding my morning runs quite enjoyable! It's a good way to clear my mind before work, and I was super unfit. I was in pain the day after my first run but tgat was gone in a day or two and since then I can feel a huge improvement in my fitness. If you're thinking about it, I say give it a go! There's a lot of time to ease into it if you start now, and there's no pressure if you decide it's not your thing. If you never try you'll never know!

Hi,

My husband and I would like to join your group also. I just booked our first back to back cruise. We will be on the Fantasy the week of the 11th and the 18th. We will be in room 5552. These will be our 8th and 9th Disney Cruises. We are retired and both drive red mobility scooters, so we will be easy to spot on the ship. We were on the Fantasy this past January and had a wonderful time. It is a great ship. That cruise made our grand slam complete and we have been on all the ships now. Just can't get enough Disney.

Looking forward to keeping in touch on the boards.

Welcome aboard Peg and hubby! So jealous you are doing a back to back for 2 full weeks. That's great. This will be our first cruise on the Fantasy. Got any tips for us newbies?

:welcome: Peg! Wow! That sounds like a fantastic holiday! You two are going to be absolute experts by the time the rest of us board! I hope I get the chance to do the grand slam one day too!

We feel welcome already. Yes, it is a great way to celebrate our 55th anniversary. We have never done anything like a back to back, but we have always wanted to. Our first Disney cruise was in 2001 and that was to celebrate my husband Ira's retirement from teaching. He is also retired from the AF. Hard to believe but he retired from the AF in 1979. Where does time go?

We did one cruise that wasn't Disney and that was Holland America to the Panama Canal. It was very nice, but we just would rather do Disney.

Disney makes it easy to enjoy the cruise. One thing we always enjoy is going on deck and watching the sail away party. It is so great to see so many people happy and having a great time!! That is what was missing on Holland America. The Disney magic makes the difference.

Wishing January was here already.
