January 14th 2006 Magic Western.............

OMG!! Less than 2 WEEKS!! :hourglass

Haven't started packing, don't have any hotel ressies, no room assignment, no palo booked, no plans for islands... :teeth:

But I am ready to go tomarrow!! :rotfl:

Happy New Year everyone!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

These 12 days just can't go by fast enough.... I have 8 more days of work and then it is off to paradise... :cool1: I can't seem to decide what to take though....

Question: How dressed up do you have to be at the formal nights? I mean are we talking ballgown formal? Do the men have to wear Tuxes or can they wear suits... and what about the CC cocktail? Do you have to dress to the nines for that as well? My Fiancee' is not found of dressing up so I need to warn him how many times he will have to. :bitelip:

I am just soooooo excited.. Tried to make ressies at WDW today for the 2 days before but it seems to be all filled up... Oh well I guess we will stick to the original plan and skip Disney this trip.

On the two cruises we have taken (1 Disney, 1 RCCL), I have not worn gowns to dinner on formal or semi-formal night. To be honest, I just don't like the hassle of packing them. On our Disney Cruise in January of 05, I wore a nice black dress on formal night and another nice dress on SF night. Hubby wore his suit both nights. I was not the dressiest person on the ship, but I also did not feel under dressed. Hubby was the same way - some men in tuxes, but many didn't even have jackets on. The Disney dress is much more casual on formal and SF night than we experienced on our RCCL cruise.

I'm like you - the days can't pass quick enough for me! I started my son's packing pile this morning and that has me all geared up to go. If the mouse called me this afternoon and said we could leave tomorrow, I'd be out the door in an instant!

Chris

We're planning to go dressy for formal night. Our friend who will be joining us owns his own tux, DH is renting a tux, we bought a small tux for DS (He looks too cute in it! And he likes wearing it too.) DD and I both have fancy dresses to wear as well. I love to dress up and there just aren't enough chances to do it in this day and age. Can't wait to get a formal photo of our family! ::MinnieMo

12 days and counting.. :cheer2: :cheer2: Was anyone lucky enough to get an upgrade?? Not us :confused3 But I am happy with the cabin we were assigned. I sure hope the next week and a half flies by.. :hourglass

WE have 10 days until we start our drive down!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have no idea what cabin I am in, haven't been assigned one and I am a little worried about how long it will take to get luggage if we don't have a room number that I can write on the tags!!

So are we going to meet up on deck 10 after the deck party? Wear a piece of ribbon/yarn for identification? I really want to meet all of you! :teeth:

According to our TA our room is only guaranteed and not assigned but when I go the Disney Cruise website and enter our reservation number and birthdate our room # comes up. Did you try doing it that way. Debbie

Hello fellow cruisers. I haven't had time to read all the posts but am glad to see there are so many. We will be joining you on this cruise. We have two DD's ages 6 and 8. Any one out there with the same. See you all soon. Can't wait!

Glad to hear someone else is getting all decked out! I went shopping over the weekend and found a beautiful beaded gown for 75% off and I just couldn't resist. :cool1: I just bought my husband a complete tux off of eBay for less than $75 and I am watching a dress for my DD that ends tomorrow. I'm so excited!

I read on another message board that approx. 20% dress in tuxes...I wish more did...there aren't many chances in life to get all dressed up...at least not in my life:)

Not long now! :boat:

Cool! My son just turned 9, so he will be in the kid's club with your eight year old.
What is your name?

Dressing up. I have given up on bringing formal wear on DCL cruises. Hardly anyone gets fancy dressed up. On our July Carnival cruise there were more people dressed up then on DCL.
I will bring a dress, I also have a nice silver top I'll wear with black pants. My son has a suit he'll wear on formal night. I don't expect him to dine with us too much.
My DH will wear a suit on Formal night & a sports coat on semi formal night.

Ok, the time is getting so close!! I have never done a DIS meet Cheryl, but I'll give this a try! :rotfl:

How about we do a quick roll call here:
include what you would like-
ex. names, kids/ages, location or cabin #
if you would like to meet, is the time, location good?, etc.

Also, how about wearing something yellow or blue? around the right wrist such as yarn or ribbon. We can meet on deck 10 right after the muster drill before the party in case some get the 5:30 dinner and have to change right away? Oh, and on the right side of the ship (not very good with nautical terms :guilty: ). Maybe we could also meet on a sea day.

ROLL CALL

Caroline with DD Sarah-12, DD Amanda-7, DD Dina- just turning 3 (leaving DH home)
I don't have cabin assignment, but will be at least a Cat 11.
This will be my 3rd Disney cruise (4th all together), but first 7- night.
Second seating-waitlist for first
No excursions booked or planned
Will be with a group of others (not DISers)
Driving down from NJ and will be leaving Thurs. before sailing.

I have a question about formal night. This is my first cruise and my parent's second (they went on a 4 day before). We didn't even know about it until I started reading this board. Anyway, do you have to wear a suit or tux and a dress? My mom hates dresses and the men in my family the dressiest they get is a button down shirt and a tie. My sister and I are all about dressing in our formal but the rest of my family members are not. princess: I really don't want to miss out on this.

Kim I'm 21 years old
I will be going with my parents and 2 sib's
Deck 6

Leaving in 9 days (depending on weather), saying in WDW night before :Pinkbounc !
