Thanks for the warm welcome guys.... Cheryl I had my siggy, pics, and countdowns already done for the Disneymooners website so I just pulled them over to here. I guess that's cheating huh... Hehehe :earsboy:
worked well!! lol

BTW, this cruise is a birthday gift for my son. Well, it just gives us an excuse to go. He got the same gift last year. lol I need to come up with an idea on how to present the gift.
Last year I wrapped up a toy ship, then a DCL tee shirt, then the tickets. I need another idea for this year. Any ideas?

How about wrapping up something related to a shore excursion you have planned. That might keep your DS guessing for a while. If I think of anything else, I'll post again.

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone. I just wish our cruise documents would come already! My DD(10 ) and DS(6) want to start packing already today. I'm going through the "pile" of things I've accumulated for this trip and unpackaging things. We leave home on the 11th, so the trip is coming up sooner than we think. I've got a whole folder full of stuff we need to take along...confirmations for hotels at WDW, rental car, airline info, ticket exchange certificates for WDW, dining ADR info, etc............

Just curious what plans everyone has for the cruise......spa, shore excursions, Palo, etc?

We're planning to do Key West on our own. On Costa Maya, hubby and inlaws are doing a shore excursion to the ruins. DS (age 2) and I will probably just stay on board. On Grand Cayman, we're doing the Island Tour. We're planning to rent bicycles on CC. We have Palo reservations for Thursday night and are doing the Alone Time on Thursday morning. Have read a little about a martini tasting - hope to take that in.

Can't wait!!

Chris

We are planning on doing all of the ports on our own except for Costa Maya. We have booked the horseback riding tour there since I am an avid horse person... Someone told me that Costa Maya wasn't worth it though so we are trying to decide if we still want to do it or if we will just hang out on the boat. I guess we are a little worried about the bug bites there too. The same person told me she got bit by a bug there and her arm swelled up and she got sick that night.... Is that just someone trying to scare me or have other people ever heard anything like that? :earseek: I think we will probably go ahead with the excursion though.

On the boat we have booked brunch at Palo on one of the days at sea and I have booked a message on the day we got to Grand Cayman.... I do love a good message....

I am just looking forward to relaxing and well of course eating all that awesome food...

Jennifer,

I have read great things about Costa Maya. This is the port I am looking forward to most. This is what we are doing:
http://www.chacchobenruins.com/

Just bring bug spray for the bugs. People said the same kinds of things about Honduras before we went, and it turned out to be the most beautiful island. Very unspoiled, much like I expect this one to be. I think it's great to get away from port & see the "real" island. I think if people don't see a Hard Rock Cafe or a Margaritaville then they don't like the island.

We only have this one excursion planned, then we plan to rent a jeep on Grand Cayman, and maybe rent some wave runners while there. In Key West we plan on renting a scooter or an electric car.

We have Palo booked for dinner, brunch & high tea. I'd like to explore the ship a bit more this time. The martini tasting sounds great!!!

We'll also be at OKW two nights before the cruise.

Cheryl, I was also planning on renting a car in GC. I'm a bit skittish and don't like strangers driving me!! :rotfl:
I really should get moving on these things! I am going to my friends house tomarrow as we are trying to come up with some "Amazing Race" type things for our girls to do on the trip! Any ideas?? :goodvibes

No ideas, but sounds like fun!!
I haven't booked the jeep yet but I'm pretty sure this is where I'm booking it.

I was in GC in July, just went to the beach, rented wave runners & walked around. It seems like a pretty easy island to get around. You do have to drive on the "wrong" side of the road, and the turnabouts seem like it can be difficult, but I'm willing to try it.

We're planning to do Key West on our own. Whatever strikes our fancy at the moment. On Grand Cayman, DH, DD, DS and myself are booked on the Atlantis tour while our friend is going on the Nautilus tour. After that, we'll just do whatever we feel like doing there as well. At Costa Maya we will split up again with our friend doing the Kohunlich ruins and us doing the Chetumal Mayan Museum tour. Our kids love "interactive" museums. We're hoping they'll also learn a little something as well since we're taking them out of school for 8 days to go on this trip.

We've got Palo booked for Tuesday night, a massage for DH and myself on Thursday AM, and a Cabana Massage for our friend at CC.

Our friend and I are also doing the Metabolism test. He's doing it right away on Saturday evening and I'm scheduled for Monday AM.

Sounds like we've got a full enough schedule planned!

We've booked the chacchoben ruins for Costa Maya, Island Tour & Snorkeling with stingrays on Grand Cayman. Both through Disney. For Key West, we will be doing it on our own. On CC, we'll just relax and snorkel a bit.

As for Palo, I guess we'll have to wait until onboard to book for brunch. Missed my chance online....

Cheryl - I remember reading another thread where you mentioned your room #. We are also on deck 6 #6070, not too far from you :goodvibes .

We plan on doing Key West on our own (just walk around awhile) and doing the Turtle Farm and beach (possibly the Butterfly Farm as well) on our own in GC.

DH and DD(6) are booked for the Stingray Encounter at CC (other DD is too young - guess we need to book another cruise when she's old enough!!)

Not sure about CM yet. If anything, we would go to a beach. My DDs are too little for the ruins, though I'd love it!

Haven't received our documents yet. I'm even more anxious since others are getting them!

We'll be out of town this weekend, but next week DH and I move into full gear to get everything packed, confirmed, etc. I'm a power packer, so hopefully we will be done with everything in a couple days.

Yes, not too far. We're 6592.
Check with me again before my brunch resv. If no one else in my party wants it I may give it to you if you don't get one. I've done it before, I can miss it.
I'll check to see when it is.
What ruins tour are you doing? We're going with Ivan & David. I've read so many great things about the tour on Cruise Critic, I can't wait!

I'm not sure which day it is. It's not Monday or Tuesday. I have been too lazy to look it up! LOL
I know it's at the latest time you could make it.

I spent the night thinking of riddles for my son's traesure hunt! LOL That is what i decided to do to give him the gift. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
I can't wait to give it to him, so I can talk about this cruise in public!

You really must try an excursion outside of the CL someday!!
Maybe we'll see you out at the ruins.

Will anyone else be online during the cruise?
