Ahoy there ~ pirate:

I noticed on pdarrah's cruise website that only a few of us have posted our room numbers. Now, I'm not telling you that you HAVE to do this...I'm just SUPPOSING that one might miss out if Tinkerbell doesn't know where you are staying, that's all. Enough said. :tinker: :tinker: :tinker:

We booked late and ended up with a 12 GTY. Anyone else have this on this trip? I can't wait to find out where we'll be. There are three of us, so I know that there is a good chance that we'll end up in a cat 12! Let me know when you find out!

Hi folks --

We've booked a room for the Residence Inn, but after this weekend at the state FIRST LEGO robotics competition, I think we'll have enough points to stay free at a Holiday Inn. Do you have feedback on the Holiday Inn Beachfront in Cocoa Beach or the Holiday Inn Express (I think that's what it was) that's closer to the port? I think Dh would prefer Residence Inn, but Free is Free . . . LOL.

OH, and DH is searching out info on excursions in Cozamel & Grand Cayman. Can't wait to see what he desides to do . . .

Enjoy your weekend . . . only 42 more days until we're eating at Parrot Cay . . .

I'm hoping we find out soon so we can post our room number for "tinkerbell". It would be nice to know soon. When do you get the assignment?

Getting so busy with the holidays, and I keep thinking I still have to do so much for the cruise! Still have to buy things and book shore excursions, etc. Hard to focus on Xmas! Any gift suggestions for use on the cruise for DD8 and DS5 and DH?

Hi, Everyone
Chicago got a foot of snow last Friday then fell into a deep freeze. Luckily, we skipped town Saturday morning and spent a couple of days in the Las Vegas sunshine, going to the National Finals Rodeo, and buying cowboy stuff at the three enormous vendor fairs going in in different conference centers and Mandalay Bay.

The rodeo brings lots of celebrities to town, and we saw singers Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift performing/giving out autographs and Larry the Cable Guy checking out the "air chairs" at the trade fair (those canvas chairs hanging on ropes that you bolt into a rafter). We also saw Wayne Newton watching the rodeo. Our star sightings this year were just as exciting as last year, when we saw Celine Dion eating breakfast at the Denny's across the street from Caesar's Palace. ;-) We bought the new Pirates 2-disc DVD Tuesday morning and watched it on our little DVD player on the flight home. Made the trip go by so quickly, and made us long for the Caribbean.

All this gadding about has meant we are horribly behind on both Christmas and cruise preparation. I have decreed we will be packed for our cruise by New Year's Day. We even have a free Southwest r/t ticket we are hanging onto in the event bad weather threatens our journey to Florida for the cruise and we have to take an earlier one-way flight at the last minute. Now we've just got to find DH's tux and cummerbund, which always seems to vanish no matter how hard I try to put it somewhere I'll find it again. Oh well.

It's snowing here, and I just want to go NOW!!!

It is NOT snowing here, but it sure is cold enough to snow! We usually don't start seeing these fridgid temps until January! Haven't even ordered my kord of wood yet!

I agree . .. I just want to go NOW!

Is anyone receiving doc's yet? It's snowing here, and I just want to go NOW!!!
Not snowing in NY either but we saw temps in the 20's yesterday. We still have not received our documents yet.

Did you know we're down to only 33 days until we cruise (one month until we head to FL)?

Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed by the busy Christmas season and prep for the cruise? We did it the opposite last year . . took the cruise right after Thanksgiving and then home for Christmas. Should be interesting which way is really better . . .

Well, back to getting ready for the week . .

Happy 1-month-to-go day!

Question for anyone who has booked their air travel through DCL. - Have you received any information (or had your reservation information updated on the DCL website) about what flight you'll be on and when?

I was under the impression that this information would be available today, but no luck so far.

Thanks

Whoopie!!!!!

I just bought our airline tickets, now it seems real :) We are starting to look at if the swimsuits everyojne has still fit and who needs new. I am hunting for water shoes for the beach and suit jackets for the guys. I just can not believe it's 1 month away... I can hardly wait!!

Happy 1-mo-to-go day to everyone!
No, we haven't received our additional information, flight confirmations, etc. yet. And i can't wait!!!! :cool1:

Yep one month to go. Jet Blue lowered their rates again so I called up and got another $200 credit put into my account. Always watch your airlines rates. If they go down after you purchase your tickets the airline most likely reimburse you in a credit for a future trip. With all our visits to the Mouse the credits get used.

Tim

According to DCL, tomorrow should be the date to get the airline info if you booked through them.

We caughtanother price drop on Southwest-just on one Orlando flight, and now we can fly to Orlando directly instead of Tampa (and get there a few hours earlier!!!)

With less than a month to go, I have a feeling things are really going to accelerate and suddenly, it will be the night before and I STILL WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND DH'S CUMMERBUND! Maybe he can just keep his tux buttoned.

I got a confirmation email from Avis about the Jeep we're renting for the day at Grand Cayman...good thing, too, since the original was long ago lost when we dropped AOL (and our AOL email addresses.) Ooops.

I'm already anticipating those first happy steps across the gangway, and the first time entering the cabin, opening the verandah doors, taking a great outdoorsy we're-in-Florida-in-the-middle-of-winter breath and thinking "hmmm...smells like low tide..." :-)

More good news on the saving money front. Long ago someone sent me a gift certificate that for some reason I was unable to redeem. It seems NY has this funny law that a gift certificate in NY can be used for up to 5 years after the expiration date, who knew. So I recieved a letter in the mail telling me to go to this site and then call a number to get a new certificate of my choice sent to me. So I picked a Hyatt gift certificate. Did this because it will save me $50 on my hotel stay the night before the cruise. So I will only be paying an unbelieveable low price of $93 to stay there. Sweeeettt......

I have a couple of quick questions.. wonderign if any of you know. Will the Black Pearl be at CC when we are ther? We were watching Pirates last night and I was just wonderig if it's still there, the kids would love to see it. And, are there any brand new movies coming out the week we cruise? We got to see Chicken Little on opening day on out last cruise.

I was just thinking that our board was getting a bit quiet so I went for a peek . . . ya'll have been sharing and I've missed it! Guess the thread activitiy announcements have suddenly started going to my junk mail . . . go figure.

I know what you mean, skylynx, about it suddenly catching up with you. Is anyone else doing their absolute best to focus on the Christmas at hand and to be concerned with cruising things afterward? (outside of asking the grandparents to buy new luggage for their fast growing grandsons for Christmas? - this is checked off the list .. .LOL).

I'd love to hear where you purchased a new coverup, Colorado Mom? I might get one more suit for me from LandsEnd before the cruise, but all my boys (big and small) have a least two suits that will still fit from the summer. We swim, boat, ski a lot and need lots of clean swim wear.

Did we decide if we what identifying mark we were going to wear so we knew who the DIS folks were? I liked the Lime Leias that another trip report mentioned

Have a super 9 days until Christmas!

Theresa 8-)

Good Morning, All!!

First, to answer Colorado Mom's question about the Black Pearl. There was a thread on the main Board about this and the it's the Flying Dutchman that is at Castaway Cay and there is talk of using it for some sort of show in the future (so that means it will be there when we are there). There is also talk of bringing the Black Pearl there as well! Here is the link: (hope this helps)

It finally hit me on Thursday.............we are going on the Magic! It was a GREAT feeling! I've been so busy and Thursday was the first work day that I didn't have my morning blocked for something...........I spoke with DCL's Concierge Office and made the request for our dining rotation/table. The staggered dining times are new for me so after I hung up on Thursday, I realized I may have confused things and had to call back on Friday. Debbie is so nice and patient.

I sent DH an e-mail to brighten his day (he's overseas again until right before Christmas) and let him know that I had gotten that done and his return note was great - so upbeat...........he sounds so excited to get away and be with his girls! I think we are all now officially on "Disney Watch!"

It looks like everything is ready except doing the on-line check-in but DH will do that when he gets home. I coordinate the schedule and he does all the "official" check-in paperwork. "A balance of power!" ;)
