January 1-4 crowds

We have always been to WDW during lower crowd times. This year we are squeezing in some park days pre-cruise, and will be there Jan. 1-4. My question is- with crowds that large, will we still be able to get 4th, 5th, 6th FP?? Or should we only count on our initial 3? I’m working on a touring plan now since my FP day is tomorrow TIA!!

I'm sure there are many here that know much better but during that time, I wouldn't count on anything extra, although I am sure if you keep refreshing
something will come up. We usually go in September so have a good shot of extra FP but we are going also January 4-12 and I am not counting on
anything extra and if something comes up, while we are in a park, great, if not, we will be there plenty of time before RD, do what we want/need and
use our FPs. Anything else is extra.

I’ve read that Jan 1 is dead the first few hours. Everyone sleeps in. MK should have 4th+ fp as there are so many. I’ve been on a few busy days and fp didn’t start getting hard to get til the early evening.

Marathon weekend is not until the 12-13 this year Maybe that will help some!

That will still be during Christmas break, so it will be crowded at every park.
While maybe not the really popular attractions, at MK, you should still be able to get extra FPs after your first 3.
At the other parks, you may not have as much luck.
Being at the parks early is very important to avoid the larger crowds later in the day.

We will be there staying at SSR from January 4-12. We usually go in September (was there September 7-15) and expect these crowds to be much worse, although I got
all our dining we wanted (but we are three adults so no character dining or buffets for us). Hoping FP will be as successful!

I have clients going to MK on the 1st and 3rd. Today was FP day. I was able to get princess meets for each day, Peter Pan, Pooh, 7DMT and Enchanted Tales without a problem all before 1pm. Yesterday I was also able to score them a 9:55am breakfast for BoG! I’m hoping for their sake it’s not too busy with 3 and 5 yo girls!

They have a split stay with 12/31 at Caribbean Beach for just the night before checking into ASMu for a package 1/1-4. Because of the extra night on property today was the day!

We will be there at that time too. I'm a little worried about crowds but just figuring we do what we do and might miss some stuff...will just have to go back! We went 3 years ago though and were at magic Kingdom on January 2 and we didn't really find it too bad. We booked our initial fast passes in the morning and then would just book whatever fast pass was available next. We fast passed everything and never waited in line.

We will be there 1/1-1/5 for a quick pre cruise visit and hope the crowds are... as manageable as they can be for right after New Years Made our FP's this morning: didn't get everything I wanted (No SDD on our DHS day), but at least I was able to make them quickly and didn't get the dreaded Olaf screen!

easily got my FPs this morning. FOP and SDD were no problem on 60+3 and +4. FEA had many times available on Day 60 and I got a couple 7DMTs scattered in there.

"See" you there LOL Our plane lands on January 4 at 11:45 pm and then we go to SSR for January 4-12.
TPs and KtP have this week as moderate, with mostly 5s-6s. We always go in September (was there September 7-15) and the crowds
are light so I am expecting much heavier crowds. My family has been over Christmas and Easter too, but getting to parks
with a lot of time before RP, helps keeping us in front of the crowds.

Hope our weather is good too LOL. We are from NY and I plan on wearing my heaving Lands End down coat on the plane. I HATE being cold
and figure I'll just wear at night to be comfortable (although I really hope I won't need to use). Will be packing hat/gloves too and
a sweaters and long sleeves. Will just pack sweats, a pair of jeans and some work out pants for parks. Maybe 1-2 short sleeves.
