Our first Disney meal this trip was 7:30 p.m. Friday the 10th at the Flying Fish (Boardwalk).
This was our first time at the FF. Although I had PS, and it is slow season, there was a 20 minute wait.
We we offered seats at the bar counter and glad we took them. Anderson was our waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. Great waiter and GREAT food!
:bounce:
Anderson told us the menu changes daily, with a few favorites that remain. One is Potato Wrapped Black Grouper (with Creamy Leek Fondue and Red Wine Reduction) $29.
I had the Pan Roasted Tripletail (with Portobello Mushroom Stew and Creamy Polenta) $28.
As an appeitizer we shared "Peeky Toe" Crab Cakes with Flying Fish Slaw and Ancho-Chile Remoulade. $13 (two crab cakes total)
coffee to drink
FF gets our vote for our NEW WDW favorite restaurant! ***** out of 5 stars from both of us.
The total bill (with tip) came to just over $90. I was expecting $100. So actually lucked out a little.
Nice sized portions. Not skimpy. Not too much. Good bread comes with the meal too.

Saturday, January 11 -
Breakfast: ASMu food court. Okay for a quick bite. Nothing to talk about.
Lunch: Another first for us -- Prime Time @ MGM. DH had the Pot Roast. He gives it at least 4 stars out of five. "Very good"
I had: an appetizer- Fried Boursin Cheese - with lightly breaded, toasted French bread and raspberry sauce (Shared with DH)
salad & a sugar free chocolate shake
All very good. The raspberry sauce with the cream cheese like appetizer was very good. $36.91 with tip. Good waitress. Fun, but not obnoxious. Fun atmosphere. Would eat there again.
Dinner: Macaroni Grill -- off-site. Pasta load for DH's marathon run the next morning. MG is a chain restaurant, but VERY good. I had the lasagna.

Sunday a.m. -- DH was running the marathon. I grabbed a nice quiche at MK Main St Bakery. :) Had the park to myself and was in heaven. sigh....
Lunch was just a quick cold sandwich from ASMu we shared. Fine and quick.
Dinner: Bongo's at DTD. We always enjoy eating there. Good food and service. Even Cuban's eat there, so figure it must be good. ;)

Monday, 13th:
Breakfast at RFC (AK). DH had the Mexican breakfast Pizza and really liked it. (Large pizza, with thin crust. Somewhat spicey) I had the Eggs Benedict. It was okay. Had better. Had worse. Good service. I gave our waitress a DS NE state pin. :) I also had a juice concoction that is basically all their juices combined. It came in a large glass with ice and there was plenty. Good juice. :)
We had a $25 gift cert for RFC, and I got 10% off with the safari club. With tip I still think we paid $8-$10. I think it was overpriced and most likely would not do it again. But DH really did like the breakfast pizza.
Late lunch at the Flame Tree grill in AK. We didn't think we were hungry until we looked at the display food! We each got a meal and really didn't need to. The sandwiches were large and we had a big breakfast. We could/should have shared a meal. For fast counter service it was good.
Dinner: We returned to the FLYING FISH! Despite the $, we had to try it again. :)
I ordered the Grouper that DH raved about Friday night. He ordered the Monkfish, which was prepared the same as my Friday night meal was.
We both liked them. But we switched plates about 1/4 of the way through because I liked the mushroom stew and he liked the Grouper better. So it worked out well.
It was still VERY enjoyable. But I liked the fish I had Friday better than the Monkfish.
I was going to bypass an appetizer, but DH wanted the crab cakes again. So I choked ;) one down. :jester:
We weren't as hungry as we were Friday night too. I don't think there is such a thing as a bad meal at FF. We sat at the counter where the food is prepared. It was chilly out and the fire and warmth was great. :)

Geez, this is only covering through Monday. I'll break this up into parts. ;)

Fantastic review, thanks. We have the Flying Fish solidly built into our itinerary. I'm happy to see that it's just as good as always. :)

Thanks so much for the reviwes! Flying Fish is my favorite WDW restaurant - so glad you really enjoyed it, too! :)
