Jane Goodall Has Passed Away

Jane Goodall led a fascinating life, doing what she loved. We met her in the mid-90s when she was doing a lecture tour. She stayed after the lecture to talk with anyone who was interested in hanging around. DD was about 4 at the time and Jane was kind to her, showed her pictures of 'her' chimps, and signed books for us. Dr. Goodall was a dedicated scientist and a lovely human being. We are sad to learn of her passing.

She was wonderful.

Such an amazing field scientist, her dedication to her craft... her grace while doing it 💔 .... Jane Goodall (and Diane Fosse) were both such an inspiration for me to become a scientist.

RIP

I remember when she came here in 2010. She was invited to the Houston Zoo to be one of the first to experience their new African Forest exhibit and meet the zoo's new chimpanzee family. We were members back then and visited shortly after, happy knowing that it had her seal of approval. We lost a great one, but hopefully her legacy will live on.

I read her book about hope for the planet, focusing on young people. She had more hope than I do for the survival of the planet.

I was fortunate to see and hear her at Animal Kingdom and shake her hand during the 10th anniversary of the park. Amazing person and amazing life, well lived.
