I know that i've still got 9 months to wait for our Jan holiday but i'm beginning to start to purchase summer clothing for the children! I have seen some lovely disney sets consisting of vest tops and matching shorts but wandering if the weather will be warm enough for the boys to wear them?

Thanks for any advise
Sally

been at christmas and new year before and will be there again this year, the weather can be very nice and warm or chilly, it is usually chilly in the morning and warms up as the day goes on, jumper or jacket at night.
We have always been lucky, swimming in the pools on xmas day and new year.
i would take a mixture of clothing.

I agree, you will probably find it will be sunny but cool, especially in the morning and evening.

This last January was the hottest on record for 24 years I believe, we had days where it was 90!!! Then other days it was freezing and I mean freezing - we had to buy gloves for us and the kids in Islands of Adventure as it was down to about 35! So as Johnny and DC said it can be very changeable to take something for all weathers!

we went jan 2007 and as the previous poster said there were a few days that were cold but the majority of them were hot.

Hiya
Another visitor in Jan 07, we only had one bad day, and that was about the 20th (visited MgM or whatever it is called now) but honestly we liked the weather, on the day we went to discovery it was gorgeous it was that hot we got really burnt i even blistered, if there was a good deal i would go again in Jan.

Thanks for your advise. I think that i'll match trousers, t-shirts and hoodies/jumpers, but take shorts in a bag to the parks. Didn't realise that there would be a possibility of sunburn. I wouldn't have thought about taking suncream in january!

Like T16GEM, we were there in January of this year.

Generally cool in the mornings then warming up before getting cooler at night. On our first visit to MK we had 1 1/2 inches of rain in just over an hour and when we got back to SSR to dry off, there was a Tornado Warning :scared1:

It sounds like we were in Epcot on the same night T16GEM was in IoA and yes, we had to go looking for hats and gloves as it was so cold. (I think I looked cool in my "Grumpy" beannie hat :lmao: )

On the whole, daytime temperatures were pretty high and it was showing 84 on the day we left. A nice time of year to visit

Hiya,

We were at Disney in Jan this year and the weather was mixed.

We had one really hot day, two bitterly cold days and the rest were lovely spring-like days. On the cold days we wore jeans and fleeces but could have done with a coat TBH. We didn't get to wear shorts at all, the best we got was cropped 3/4's!

As PP's have said, the mornings and evenings tend to be pretty cool but once the sun has been out for a while, most days were perfect for us, no need for suncream but pleasantly warm.

HTH,

Ali :goodvibes

We always travel end of January for many years, Just like the british weather somethimes, hit and miss, take a bit of everything, can be warm in the day cool in evenings, however, we have several cold days, lots of jumpers, deep frost and bitter wind. But lovely clear blue sky, the most gorgeous blue, brings a smile, always better than the UK , so enjoy, whether its wrapping up, covering with the sun tan lotion, or pretending its warm sitting on the sun lounger with the true british spirit;) !

The weather in January can be bizarre. As others have said it can be cracking the flags one day (and literally) freezing the next. Make sure you have warm clothes in case you encounter a cold front.

Thanks for all of your help. I can't wait to go. We'll have a great time whatever the weather, I just want to be prepared. Disneyland Paris was -2 when we went a couple of years back in Jan, anything above that will be a bonus:)
