we currently have a trip planned from Feb. 1-10 but I'm worried that with Mardi Gras during this time that the crowds are going to be a lot busier than what we hoped. Should we change are dates to late Jan instead?? I don't really want to do this because than we'll have to change all our Ps's. What should I Do!?!?!?!? :scared: :confused3

I've been there a couple of times during mardi gras and haven't noticed that crowds were heavier due to that. I know a lot of people escape New Orleans because of it.
Usually though, Mardi Gras has been later in the month when we've been there so i don't know what it will be like early in feb.

We will also be there Feb 1-11. I was thinking that it shouldn't be that bad with Mardi Gras. I was a little more concerned about cheerleaders! It is such a huge place that I don't think either group (Cheerleaders or Mardi Gras escapees) will make a huge difference. Enjoy your trip, I know we will!!

I looked up when Mardi Gras was and a web site said

"When is Mardi Gras? Mardi Gras Day falls on Tuesday, February 8, 2005.
Future Mardi Gras Dates
2006 (Feb. 28); 2007 (Feb. 20); 2008 (Feb. 5); 2009 (Feb. 24); 2010 (Feb. 16); 2011 (Mar. 8); 2012 (Feb. 21)"

Hope this helps!

The parks will not be crowded and lines non existant. You may have cooler temps, maybe not. Pack accordingly. I'd worry more about this then crowds at that time.
