Due to commitments next year we are looking to go for our next holiday Jan/Feb 2005. More late Jan than early.

Would anybody who has been at these times please tell me what it is like at this time of year. How hot, humidity, crowds etc.

We nornally go either Oct/Nov.

Also any American holidays i should be aware of at this time of the year. We have been caught up with Thanksgiving before without realising when we first went and it was very busy.

Many thanks alison.

Great time of year to go. Previous 2 visits have ben at this time. Down side is that the weather is not guaranteed. This year we were there when they had snow on the gulf coast! However the weather can be warm enough to quite happily go to the wter parks - we still managed TL for a day. Definite bonus is that the crowds are quiet, except for lots of cheerleaders (DH thought that a bonus!). It gets busier into February because of half term in UK & some holidy in the states (president's day). They also have a holiday in mid-late Jan (MLK I think), but I remember that only really affected that w/end. Going in again in October, so it will be interesting to compare the two experiences

MLK day is the third monday in January 19th Jan for next year.

Presidents day is really a weekly celebration...it starts on the third monday in Feb...15th Feb next year and all the books etc say that it is quite a busy time.

We are going last week in Jan first week in Feb to slot in between these dates.

Hi Alison

Early to mid January can be very cold in the mornings ie scrape the car windows cold, but once the sun gets up after 10ish its not too bad.

Parks usually very quiet .

I have been in January and February and have been fortunatel to have very good weather. I have never had it cold enough to worry about more than a light long-sleeved top in the evening and trousers.

The parks are excellently quiet.

We were there Feb 7 through Feb 21 and this included Presidents Weekend. The whole of the first week was very quiet, getting busier over the holiday weekend. We avoided Disney that weekend and found the mid/end of the second week good too. Weather - we had one rainy day Sunday 9 Feb and the rest was shorts/t-shirts with maybe a long sleeve in the evenings. Swam in the hotel pool some evenings and it was pleasant.

Thank you all for the information. Just one question what is MLK day and is it just one busy day or a busy period like Thanksgiving week. thanks alison
