I am thinking about booking a 7 day Eastern Carribean cruise somewhere in the time frame of next January through April. I want to make sure it will be warm enough for my 2 DS (ages 3 and 4) to swim in the pools on the ship and at the beaches at Castaway Cay, St. Maarten, etc. Is it always warm enough for that in Jan./Feb. or would we be better off to wait until April to make sure we get warm weather?

Check out the cruise reports on the boards. Alot of people mention the weather and if you send them a note maybe they could respond back with the weather report. Have fun!!!:bounce:

We were on the Magic this year from 1/26 through 2/2. The weather was fabulous. It was never cool enough to need a sweater and was a perfect swimming temperature during the day. I'm not an expert, but I did do a little research before we booked, and I found that the weather in the Caribbean is nothing to fear in January/February. Happy Cruising. :D

we just got back from our trip feb21-24 and weather was not great.it was VERY windy the whole trip and temps in the mid 70's during day and cool at night(with the wind).we were able to dock at castway cay but it rained all day and was windy again.the last night we had 8-13 ft seas with gail force winds.this was my 4th cuise and have never gone thru something like that.the boat was rocking and rolling all night.i talked to the girl at guest services and she said january and febuary are the windest months and it is hit or miss for docking at castway cay.
i think it is just hit or miss but we have january cruise next year that we are switching to the end of march just to make sure.

We were on the 1/12 to 1/19 Magic this year. The day we left was windy and cool, as FL was in the midst of a cold snap. By Sunday we were warm enough to wear shorts and shorts sleeves, and swimsuits. The Mickey pool was too warm to be comfortable, and the Goofy pool took some getting used to, but was OK for swimming. On St Thomas, the temps were in the low 80s, water at Coki Beach was slightly cool at first, but then very comfortable. ST Martin was also warm. As we turned back north, you could feel that temps dropping slightly. Castaway Cay was very comfortable. The water felt cool at first, but just about as cool as it felt in Oct. We were lucky--our weather was spectacular for January.
