We are going to Disney in Jan, and when we are there our DD with have her 5th birthday. I just noticed that it happens to fall on a Monday that is MKD is this going to mean that the MK will be vey busy? Part of the reason for picking Jan is that I hate crowds and it is the first trip for my DH,DS 3.5 and DD. My older DD 18 and I have been before andhave always gone in sept or Nov. I am trying to plan a special day for a Princess loving girl any thoughts or help? Also can anyone tell me what the weather will be like? I know I will have to pack a little bit of everything. We are from New England so I am thinking we can leave the winter coats home.

Holiday weekends are always more crowded, but if you had to pick a holiday weekend, MLK weekend is the right one. It won't be anywhere near as crowded as any other holiday weekend.

You will have to pack a little of everything. It won't get below freezing, but you could have some mornings close to freezing with days that struggle to make it up to 50 degrees. You could also have some afternoons in the 80s!

I would recommend definitely bringing some warmer clothes, ideally planning on dressing in layers so that if and when the day warms up you can "de-layer". We went in January of this year and didn't bring enough warm attire and really regretted it! The temps were cooler and there was also a real wind chill factor involved. We had to spend about $48 to buy my almost 2-yr old ds a winter coat in the park. It was really cute, had Stitch on it, but still a lot more than I would normally pay for something like that.

If your dd really loves princesses you might want to try getting ps's to Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast on your MK day. Read this thread on the restaurant board about getting ressies for CRT (which can be very difficult: click here
If you can't get CRT ressies, there is also a princess breakfast at Restaurant Akershus in Norway pavilion at Epcot.

The crowds in January aren't bad. Even though Mondays at MK are typically more busy the crowds shouldn't be at unbearable levels. You might not be jumping off a ride and running right around to get right back on - but the waits shouldn't be too bad and I think you'll still be able to have a full day of fun. We don't like crowds either which is why we typically go off-season.

hth!

There is also the lunch at CRT now if you can't get the breakfast! princess: I haven't done these YET ( :teeth: ) , but I belive the Grand Floridian has a Gala feast and an afternoon tea with the princesses too.
