I believe the codes for January are done. I think you needed to book by the middle of Dec sometime. The best advise I can give you is call AAA and ask for a quote. You may be lucky, maybe there will be rooms left available. I joined AAA just for the discount as I saved around $200. They dont discount all the rooms at the AAA rate. I did not use the code that came out for January as my AAA rate was just as good. I did purchase park hoppers. The only thing I would have gained with the code was the water parks and we wont be using those in January. Good luck with your planning!
.My AAA rate was good for the room, and park hopper tickets. Like I said it saved me a couple of hundred. The code that came out for January was for room, including park hoppers and water parks. I just know that when I checked the rates the two rates were very similair. I just didnt have the water parks.
To tell you the truth, I really don't know what kind of codes/discounts I'm looking for! I'm new to this! I am just trying to figure out if there are ways to get the prices of the moderates down for our trip next January. We need a hotel for around $100 (or less), and don't really want to stay at a value (and don't want to rent a car for offsite). I guess I'll need to look into the DTD hotels some more...
January Moderat price 145
AAA discount 20%
Makes the room 116 (+tax) so that gets close to 100
according to Mousesavers.com The current ap's for this jan.

Travel dates: 1/1/07-2/14/07. Discounts are $23 off per night at Value resorts, $46 off per night at Moderate resorts and $80 off per night at Deluxe and DVC resorts. Book by 2/14/07. Use code FCC.
The ticket upgrade deal also included free park hoppers as well as waterparks and a teensy room discount that wasnt a number we could ever figure out as an accross the board percent. Do you hop? we dont. So in our case the package would have actually cost us an extra $50 in our value hotel. Free hopping would save about 40 per person.
We are looking at renting DVC this winter. Sun-thur in Jan. 2007 would have worked out to about $90-99 per night.
There is no need to rush if you are going next January. Picking your dates and holding a resort room is a good idea and might make it more fun but buying memberships (AAA or Annual Pass) early on might bite you in the end. I was toying with the idea of getting an Annual Pass for the room only discount in 2 weeks but the AAA rate was cheaper at the Poly for my dates than the Annual passholder discount .
If an Annual passholder discount should show up you can always book your room only dates with the annual pass rate and tell the CM you plan on buying it when you get there. This way you lock in the passholder rate but can opt out if 1. a good public 'room only' rate should come out or 2. if AAA rates should be better for you. If another better deal ever come along and you have 'room only' reservations its easy as pie to change them up to just days prior to arrival - BUT- if you have booked a package or purchase tickets before hand with your room it will probably show up as a package and they are much harder to deal with (which is why I only did a package once).
