Ok. I've PM'd the peeps who expressed interest early on and never posted again to let them know our cutoff is Thanksgiving. It should be helpful to see how many people are actually going to participate.

Hi Laura

Hey Carreyw, how has this worked out?
Have you heard back from people?

And, if there are people who don't reply by Thanksgiving, are they then out of the FE group?

I'm just trying to be sure of what's going on. The FE is one thing that we want to have enough time set aside to do. :)

No one has messaged me back yet. I told them that if we do not hear back from them by Thanksgiving, then they are out of the FE group, so we'll see how it goes. Honestly, I doubt they'll reply because it has been so long since they posted anyway.

I keep the FE list on my work computer and I'll be out of the office for Thanksgiving so next Monday I'll post the OFFICIAL FE list!

We're getting so close! I can't wait!

We've finally received our room assignment. We did not receive an upgrade, so I will have to cross my fingers at checking they still have some balconies left!

Room number is 2050

Can't wait!!

Okay, now I am confused...

I am booked in a 10B but the room number is 2050 which appears to be a ocean view?

Maybe that is your upgrade? I personally like the lower decks better. You feel the boat rock less down there and they are so roomy, you don't really need a veranda. I can just go up to deck 4 to go outside for free if I want some fresh air!

I assumed they would change the category on my ressie too. Either way I will take it!

Carrey who have you PMed that we are waiting on ? This happened my last cruise then BOOM mid Dec hit and everyone re appeared -
how many are we talking that are uncoounted for or MIA :rotfl2:

Looks like we got an upgrade. We are now in cabin 5146 with a verandah. I liked being lower with a big portal. Guess we'll find out of lower is better.:confused3

I'll trade you! :P just kidding

We booked a 10B but appear to have gotten a 9B. Hoping to be able to change to a verandah at check in :)

That's what we're going to try to do as well.
We're going to be there as early as they'll let us, and see how much more it would cost for us to upgrade to a room with a verandah.

In the future, when we have planned the cruise early enough, we'll opt for a room with a verandah from the beginning and just pay monthly, but since this was last minute, we didn't have the money to spend then and there.

Maybe changing out of the GTY room early was a bad idea on my part.

It seems like a lot of people got upgraded.

Like I said, I'm going to try to pay for an upgrade when we first dock, if it's possible and worth it.

If not, we're literally right across the hall from you! :woohoo:

To be honest... If I booked an oceanview room for a few hundred extra dollars... I'd probably turn around in 2 weeks and just decide to upgrade to the verandah for a few hundred extra dollars.

We're just going to take our chances with trying to upgrade at the port if there are any upgrades available, and if the price on the upgrades is right.

If we find that we like cruising and we cruise in the future, we'll know to book farther out so that we can spread payments over time and be able to afford a better room.

But if we can't upgrade at the port, we won't be upset. We're happy with the room we got. If we HAD to have a better room, we would have booked a cruise farther out. The draw for us was being able to spend a week doing a Disney Cruise for the same price as we could do 3 days at Disneyland (including food and hotel).

We had $1,500 budgeted for our annual Disneyland trip, the same we budget every year for the trip. But when I saw that the cruise was less than $1,500 for the two of us for 7 nights, I figured that one was a no-brainer. Double the vacation for the same amount of money sounds like a deal to me!

Even if we can't get an upgrade, I'm completely fine with it. That's why we paid a bit extra a week ago to secure ourselves a room on deck 7 and give up our GTY upgrade chances. I wanted to ensure that, even if we didn't get an upgrade, we were at least in a location we were comfortable with. There are a good amount of DISers here on the 7th deck, so that's good. And now you're right across the way, which is kinda cool.

Worst case scenario is we're stuck where we are. And given that, I'd say there is no worst case in this scenario. :)
