Does anyone have an idea about the crows at that time?

We are arriving on the 30th and staying till the 8th (it's funny, this is our 14th straight year but a week later than we usually go)

Thanks for the info,
R

Crows will be flying high!

;)

The CROWDS will be very manageable.
Have a great trip!!

:welcome to the DISboards, RBF!

It sounds like the crowds might be pretty big for Feb. 4th to the 8th, as the National Cheerleading compitition is being held in Disney that long weekend. I know that all of the values and moderate resorts are completely sold out for the weekend. :scared1:

You will probably see higher crowds from the 30th through the 2nd, since the Super Bowl is only down in Tampa. You can check out the UG's crowd calendar, that will help guide you as to which parks to go to.

Please say that it isn't so...we booked thinking it would be low crowds....:sad2:

January 30th-February 2 is expected to be much busier than normal due to the Super Bowl in Tampa. I will be there during this time and am bracing myself for crowds.

Thanks !

But I was thinking it would be a soft Feb, I've been there before with the cheerleading thing and it's not bad.

The worst has alway been MLK weekend and then it seems to free up right after that till winter break.

Anyone else feel the same?

Rob

I was just having a mini heart atack when I read about the cheerleading, I thought that this was going to be a slow time.

We are heading in from 2/3 to 2/8 Oh well, any time in Disney, is better then a day at home! (it is cold here right now - they actually closed schools because of the temps!:headache: ) I am looking forward to sunny skies!

From what I understand, there is a cheerleading comp almost every weekend from now thru mid Feb. I don't think it will affect the crowd levels too much. But I think the Super Bowl will. The first weekend may be more crowded than you expected.
We will be there too. We have touring plans and plan to start early and avoid the mid day crowds.

We're going the same time. Are you planning on using EMH? I was but if the crowds will be bigger due to Super bowl, I wonder if it's worth it.

I was there last Feb. from the 1st thru the 8th. It was fantastic. Very low crowds, meaning 5 or 10 minute waits. Sure, some rides were packed all day, but we knew how to use FastPass.

We also got Tour Guide Mike and followed his advice for what days to go to which park. Since coming back, I've read reports from other DIS-ers that said some of those same days were very crowded. I've gone back to TGM and read his advice and sure enough, those were the days that he recommended NOT to go to that particular park!! My family was in the non-crowded park that TGM said to go to, and we had very light crowds. The families that thought it was crowded, went to the parks that TGM said to avoid. ;)

We're there the 29th to the 5th - hoping it won't be too bad with the Superbowl (I'm not that worried about the cheerleaders, from what I've read). But I'm still optimistic. Right now, I'm more worried about the temperature than the crowds!

I don't think that the cheerleading competition will affect the aprks too much...the cheerleaders are pretty focused on the competition at hand. Perhaps there will be a short spike after winners are announced, but I am not worried. The rooms are booked, but they don't have the same goals for their trips that most of us do.

We've been there in the past during cheerleading competitions - we stayed in Sports. Besides a lot of giggling, high pitched loud girls in the food court, the parks were slow..

I'll also be down there during this time. I agree that is should be somewhat more crowded than normal, but I'm not really worried that the place is going to be a zoo.

I agree about the cheerleaders, they don't affect much in the parks except for Hollywood studios.

On the selfish side....it's not comforting to hear that rooms are sold out, I was hoping for a little disney love with a room upgrade at CBR.

Any advice on how to accomplish this?

We are down from Feb. 2-9, and I am feeling a bit concerned. Supposedly SB crowds should only make an impact on Monday, 2/2. My fingers are crossed!

We went two February's ago the day after the SuperBowl (poor Bears!) and when there was a cheerleading tournament thingy and the crowds were super, super low. No problems at all. I'm expecting it to be the same for this trip./

We stayed at Pop during the 2007 cheerleader thing and while I certainly noticed groups of girls dressed alike, they didn't seem to affect the crowds in the parks. If they were staying at Pop they didn't bother me!
