Jan 3, 2004 Magic Cruise

poopie (Rachael?) I think we are going to have a meet on board. Plans have not been finalized as of yet and no one has taken responsibility for the planning yet.

Depending on the number of people who want to get together for the meet there are a lot of places on board where the meet could be held without having a lot of non-DISers around.

Seems we have more logging onto this thread than has posted names on the Unofficial DCL cruise list. Hope everyone has been lurking here for the info even if they aren't posting.

Well, back to work so I can afford to go.....

Hi All
We will be with you in Cat 4 #8560. Myself, DW, 8 & 5 year old daughters, almost 3 year old son.

We want to stay in the Port the night before. Any recommendations?

Hey MarkLem ,

Welcome aboard!! It looks like we're only a few cabins down from you in 8554...that's pretty cool. It'll be myself, DW and DD, who'll be two and a half when we finally sail. My in-laws are coming as well but they'll be on Deck 7 in 7072.

Hey Mark~
we're one deck below you in #7560. Welcome to our Dis World of Cruisers!

tangoman, maybe your daughter and my son can be play buddies in the kiddie area during some of the shore excursions!

Hi Jeanny
Hope we aren't too noisy! It wouldn't be on purpose, but with a 2 1/2 year old you never know. The kids do sleep through the night though once they get to sleep. We'll come down or you all come up to say hi.

Mark, Linda, Haley, Hannah, Kurt

Don't worry about us, I can sleep through all types of noise, thunder & lightning storms very rarely wake me up unless they're right on top of our house!! My daughter hears absolutely nothing when she's asleep either!!

Jeanny

Great, you just made the 1200 mark (posts that is)

The days are getting shorter and so is the time until the cruise

Hey LVT~
yep made it over the 1200 mark... gee, am I chatty or what!!

any way... found this way back on the 3rd page... just wanted to add that I booked the MCO Hyatt last night, phew, one more thing out of the way.

Got a $124 room rate, arriving Friday night 1/2/04 around 8pm. I would have preferred the $83 rate that was out a few months ago, but it's still better than some rates I've seen. I was starting to get nervous that I wouldn't be able to get a room there, :crowded: .. I was too chicken to take the chance with Hotwire...didn't see that $52 rate listed any longer, so I grabbed this while it's on sale

Jeanny,

I guess we will have to keep posting about every 6 hours to keep this on the first page.

As I put in an earlier post, we are not going to the port the day before but are staying at the Embassy Suites at the airport and being "vanned" to the ship on the day of sailing. Couldn't pass up the 2 free rooms with free happy hour the night before and free cooked to order breakfast the morning of the cruise.

Those free happy hours can be a real money saver for me. If DW drinks more than 2 glasses of wine she won't be able to drink any more for the first 5 days of the cruise. Proved that on a previous non-Disney cruise. Crawled out of the elevator after only 3 glasses of wine (of course they were only 8-10 oz. glasses). Please don't tell anybody else, lets just keep this a secret, OK?

This is the busiest forum I've ever read. LV, where about on the Eastern Shore do you hail from?

ok, I know someone knows exactly....but how many days is it till the cruise?
Thanks!
Oh, has anyone made their non-disney reservations yet for stingray city? Or is it too early? which company are you planning on going with?
Have a great day!

Jeanny
We are booked for the Raddison however I would like to know more about the Emabssy Suits.
I know about the managers reception and breakfast but would like to know more about the transportation to the ship. What is the fee? What time do they leave? Where is the Embassy located?
Thanks
Lauretta

See my post above for days left!

Jollytammy The countdown I have in my posts is set for 12 noon on the date we sail. Just look at the bottom of the post. (At least I think that is when I set it for).

MarkLem , I was born and raised in Oxford. A small "resort" town on the Eastern Shore. I still reside in the town but in a different house than was the family home. I also spent a year in Dayton Ohio (working for the Defense Electronics Supply Center on Wilmington Pike (no longer there or so I hear) a couple years in DC and a couple in Newport RI while in Navy back in late 60s and early 70s.

Lauretta The ES are located about a mile from the airport. They have a free (tip driver if helps with bags) shuttle from the airport to the hotel. I am not using the DCL transport but have booked with Basik Shuttle (www.basikshuttle.com). I realize that we will miss out on the fun of the DCL shuttle however. (With my fireman's discount am paying $25.00 per person RT, door to ship and ship to airport.) Pick up at the hotel at 11:15. Guess we will be getting there about 12:15.

Hey Lauretta~
If you do stay at the ES, you can shuttle back to the airport in the morning to get the DCL bus.

We're staying right at the airport, so we'll just go downstairs in the morning and take the DCL bus over to the port. I think we have to leave our luggage outside our room by 8 am ish and they'll take it down to the bus for us. next time we see it, it will be in our stateroom (hopefully). The first buses leave around 9:30 or so, once they fill up, so we arrive at the port 10:30 or so..I think it's $46 per person RT, my daughter wants to take the bus again. She had taken it when she went Feb 2002 and said it was fun,... Me, I'd much rather take a towncar, but at least the bus isn't a cramped van like going to the resorts.
