Mom and I are going to Disneyland ! ! !

Are Haunted Mansion Holiday, Jingle Cruise, Small World Holiday still decorated for Christmas that first week in January ? Are Decorations still up ?
Are most schools back in session ? Still busy from the holidays ?

I'm going the first week of Dec with my DS, DIL and GDD's.
Mom can't join us at that time, but has always wanted to see the Christmas Displays and rides.
So, if DL is still decorated for Christmas Jan 2 - 6th looks ideal for us.

Any advice for that time of year ?

My family went Jan 3-9 in 2015. It was a great time to go. The beginning of the trip still had the Christmas decorations, parades, and rides... then after the 7th (I think) the parks changed over to regular time. So, it was kind of like experiencing two trips in one. We really enjoyed it!

Thank you for your input. Looks like I get to plan another Disney trip :cheer2:

Check the thread that gives information on local school breaks. If schools are still out, the parks will still be very busy.

I do think it is going to be insanely busy that week. School is out in CA and AZ still at that point and annual passes are not blocked. I suspect Disney doesn't know what they are in for. I know at least 5 families vacationing that week there (including us). All of them because they get that extra week after Christmas off of school for the first time in forever.

Oh, dear ! Insanely busy !!! Darn..........
Thank you for the info. I'll do a bit more checking.

While it is expected to be a bit lighter than the Christmas through New Year's week (tends to be the busiest of the year), Disney is keeping the Christmas stuff going through January 8th due to the expected large crowds. More and more schools are not returning to class until after Three Kings Day.

You might notice that the park hours be a hour less, but that is about it.

Surprisingly, January has become a very busy month at the DLR between Holidays, Marathons and the NAMM show.

Thank you, I appreciate the information.
First time in looking into that time frame for the DLR.
