Hi Tinky, your girls are about the same age as my friends DD's. She keeps meaning to get an account here, so hopefully you will get to know her here before the cruise.

Hi, I've just changed our sail date from 2/5 to 1/29 as friends wanted to come with us. So now we are 3 (husband, 8 year old daughter and I) and 2 (friends). Only my daughter and I have cruised before, it will be our first Disney cruis, though.

It's nice to know there will be some other DIS on the cruise.

I hope their are a lot of first time cruisers though as it helps my chances of getting the Ressies I want- and hopefully an early port arrival time.

Yes, I'm hoping for an early port arrival time, too. I have to take the 75. day before our cruise off, can't risk being stuck in a hotel somewhere or in the car on the way to work .
I've read everything about FE and think it's a cute idea. On of the friends who are coming with us turns 40 next month and I'm thinking about giving her a personalised FE...

That's what I am thinking too. I asked my MIL to make us a FE just in case.

I hoping that since there doesn't seem to be a lot of DIS-er that maybe there are more first time cruisers on this sailing. It will increase my chances of getting Remy reservations.

I understood that there are always a few little things for everybody in the cabin.

Actually it depends on what the group decides. Some groups make it one gift/cabin and others make it one gift/cruiser. There have also been groups that just left each FE participant decide if they want to do a cabin gift or individual gifts. There are no set rules.

Hi all. My wife (Kristin) and I just booked this sailing along with 2/2 for a 7d B2B. Have done several cruises, but this will be our first Disney cruise.

Have talked about doing it for a long time. Friends always seem surprised that we love Disney and love cruising but have never done a Disney cruise. After this we can finally stop all of that.

Went to D23 Expo, and came home with the itch to finally get over our sticker shock and pull the trigger.

I got a letter from Disney yesterday, so exciting. When going to WDW I don't get thi kind of mail as they don't send overseas.

And I started working on a FE, if I don't need it I can still put it into my daughters room. It's really hard work ,I wish I had more talent...

What kind of letter did you receive? Just curious since I haven't rec'd anything from DCL about the cruise, but then we don't usually - with the exception of documents. Sometimes we will receive an email from them before an upcoming cruise.

My friends didn't receive mail, either.
It consisted of two parts: one was a brochure with general information about the Dream and the Bahams, the other one was a personalised postcard with all our data (eg reservation number, pay full date,...).
And of course it looked very cute, Mickey picture, porthole- I appreciate the love for detail.

I wonder if we didn't receive it since we've sailed on the Dream already.


I just realized a couple days ago that we will be able to make our reservations and do online check in on Oct. 1st - that will be 120 days out.

Wow, so soon. As we are first time cruisers our date is november 15th, that's still so far out. Unfortunately it's a holiday in Austria so getting up at 6am in order to do everything as early as possible will be sooo hard .
We've already paid the Disney hotel for afterwards, rented the car and decided to fly into MIA instead of MCO because Lufthansa uses the super new and super big Airbus 380 for their Miami service, so we've already organised pretty much, I've finished one FE and all our magnets, so I have the feeling that we are well organised.

It's weird that our friends didn't get the letter as they are first timers, too. I called her yesterday and sent her to the letter box, building up excitement and now she's a bit disappointed and jealous but she will live.

You are very organized. We're still trying to decide if we are flying or driving down. We have a house behind Magic Kingdom so no need for hotel reservations.


mimmi, since you've already made your FE someone will need to take on the responsibility of organizing the exchange and gathering cabin numbers of who will be participating. I don't want you to bring along FE gifts and then find out no one is participating.

Did your friends register on the DCL site yet. My friends originally didn't get a package when we did but did after they signed up on the site.

I booked some things today, since my booking window opened.
Just wanted to let y'all know the status of open cabanas. As of 4:30pm on 10/1/11 the following cabanas are open: 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 on the family beach & 19 and 20 on Serenity Bay.
