Jan. 27, 28, & 29 -- what's going on at WDW???

We are trying to add a room for guests to go with us Jan. 27, 28, and 29. There's no studios, 1 bedrooms, or 2 bedrooms to be had at VWL, BWV, BCV, or AKV. Of course I can get rooms at OKW or SSR. What's going on at WDW those days? MS has availability the days before or after but not this Sun, Mon, or Tues night. Any ideas what is going on there those days???

Not sure, but I think the marathon is ran in the early part of the year.

Total guess, but thought I had read on another posting "somewhere" that the cheerleaders will be in town sometime in January. I know several people talked about the AS resorts being sold out. I didn't realize that DVC didn't have availability on those days though.

I just called MS yesterday to modify our reservation due to airfare. 1st time ever I've had to arrange my hotel stay around my airfare. We just couldn't get an affordable fare on the dates we needed - so had to adjust. We will be in the "world" from Jan 17-29th. I'm waitlisted at BCV for the 17th though.....but we have the 18-29th confirmed. I had to drop the 30th, 31st and Feb 1st from our original ressie.

If you find out or anyone else knows what is going on during that time, please post! I knew MLK weekend might be a little crazy, but had hoped crowds would thin after that Monday. It will be a bummer if its crowded the whole time we are there.

You are correct on this......the Marathon should be the weekend of Jan 12-13th.

Bummer.....so should we expect higher crowds than normal do you think?

Guess I better get on the ball and finish up my last few ADR's that I've been dragging my feet on making, huh?

Did you request to be waitlisted for the rooms you're trying to get?

If not, I would definitely do that......you never know what will come open, even if you have to go about it on a "day by day" booking process.
